  1. I'm looking for a productivity monitor for doing work. I will be looking at the screen for a long time and want something that is comfortable to look at. I will be plugging a macBook pro into it and will eventually upgrade the laptop. Want the display to look nice maybe IPS panel. Also would like the image to look sharp. Budget: Around $300 USD (Flexible) Resolution: 1440p and above Size: 27 inches Refresh Rate: Anything above 60 Hz One monitor that I'm looking at is the Dell S3221QS: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-S3221QS-Ultra-Thin-DisplayPort-Certified/dp/B08G8WMRRP/ref=sxin_16_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?content-id=amzn1.sym.d4fdc453-1595-4f7b-ba6a-eb2ac554591f%3Aamzn1.sym.d4fdc453-1595-4f7b-ba6a-eb2ac554591f&crid=2TVCHOY1GK5CY&cv_ct_cx=32%2Binch%2Bcurved%2Bmonitor&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.mDSGWwy1v-MZO70jT3KMQE58M5LxTClV0T_o2FcxjXe2IbZQPSyvuGwtt51XhW4925-_ZJozBFQDu5ivPBSr0Q.PBBcrDyK8Wo17cnu1MSm6vRJDDhIppPoUX76do_Bkuo&dib_tag=se&keywords=32%2Binch%2Bcurved%2Bmonitor&pd_rd_i=B08G8WMRRP&pd_rd_r=b82c1cd1-f131-4436-bd2d-e2e133da13d0&pd_rd_w=omdOj&pd_rd_wg=2QkJ4&pf_rd_p=d4fdc453-1595-4f7b-ba6a-eb2ac554591f&pf_rd_r=25TJVVV0034K6AYHSXV6&qid=1710645449&refinements=p_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A23595193011|23595194011|23595199011|23595220011&rnid=23595186011&s=pc&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=32%2Binch%2Bcurved%2Bmonitor%2Celectronics%2C124&sr=1-1-364cf978-ce2a-480a-9bb0-bdb96faa0f61-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&th=1 Is this an ok option?
  2. I don't know if this is the right section for this post, but I am planning on building my first custom keyboard. I have my budget set to around $300 USD (It can be flexible). I'm in between a 65% and 75% keyboard (whatever comes with Function keys and arrow keys). I plan mainly on using it for gaming and coding (If those topics even effect the keyboard). I also want to aim for a more thocking sounding keyboard. I'm going to ask a couple questions down below: I've done some research about how to make custom keyboards but I don't know about how to buy the components. Is it better to buy a keyboard that comes with the frame stuff and pcb or should I buy each separately? Continuing the last question, I would want some sort of aluminum framed case so any recommendations on brands would be nice. Do y'all have any recommendations on good tactile or linear switches? I don't know which ones I want just yet. (I currently have razor's green tactile and clicky switches on the black widow chroma v2). Does the rgb come from the pcb or the switches? Also what of whichever ones has some of the best RGB? Thanks for any help.
  3. Alright, it seems I have fixed the problem. I did not have my intel drivers for the graphics installed. Once I installed the intel graphics drivers, I seemed to have gotten a MASSIVE increase in my performance. Thanks everyone for the help.
  4. It looks like it’s using only the iGPU. I tried changing graphics settings to use the specific dGPU but that doesn’t seem to work and my bios doesn’t have any settings to turn off the iGPU. I also tried disabling the integrated graphics using device manager but since the dGPU isn’t being used, the game doesn’t function probably
  5. I don’t have a fan cooler. The game I’m trying to run (fortnite) has a performance mode. I don’t know what it uses in performance mode. Also it looks like my gpu isn’t being used but it’s hard to tell because I switch from the game to task manager and I don’t see any utilization. Idk if it just disappears though when I switch tabs.
  6. My temps for cpu I think are around 80-90C and the GPU I think 70-80C. I have a dell xps 15.
  7. My monitor does cap at 60 fps but my fps sometimes drops to like 20-30 fps which makes it stutter. I’m trying to keep it at 60 or above so that it stops stuttering. I think it’s a problem with how my gpu is being dedicated to the game. My refresh rate on my laptop is 60 so if I can get the game to run like at 70 on average I won’t have any visible lag problems if you get what mean.
  8. So I'm currently off for college and I'm using my laptop right now for gaming since I didn't bring my main PC with me. My laptop has i7-12700H, rtx 3050ti 4gb, and 32 gb of ram (that's the main important stuff). My native resolution is 4k but when I play (for example) fortnite, I'm playing at 1440x900. I have fortnite set to performance instead of DirectX12 and I have every setting set to low. Im barely hitting 60 fps. Should I be hitting a higher FPS with my system and there's some problem with my laptop settings or is a 3050ti 4gb just that bad?
  9. What’s the performance difference between the 7900X3D and the 7950X3D. Also I’ve never built with amd before so what performance differences would I see between the two platforms? Also thanks for the new pc design you sent.
  10. You could probably even do a 650 watt but a 750 watt will give you room to upgrade in the future. I would get more opinions than just mine tho haha.
  11. I think you could get away with a 750. My pc which has an rtx 2070 and i7-9700k uses a 750 watt power supply. I would def look into a bit more. You can use an online calculator to see how much power your system uses. Here’s a link to a Newegg calculator. https://www.newegg.com/tools/power-supply-calculator/
  12. You can definitely can get a cheaper power supply. 1000 watts is overkill unless you plan on upgrading to a really powerful, power hungry system.
  13. Budget (including currency): Around $3,000-$3500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, photo editing, CAD, coding, entertainment. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have plenty of storage and I play at 1440p on a 144hz monitor I’m planning on building a new pc and wanted to know if I’m spending my money on the right components. The plan is the following: CPU: Intel i9-14900kf CPU Cooler: NZXT z73 Cooler (white) Mobo: Asus strix z790 (white) GPU: RTX 4080 super (maybe the white strix if it comes out) ram: 32gb of Corsair vengeance 3600mhz or 3000 mhz (in white) case: Hyte y60 case (white) PSU: Corsair RM 850x (might look for a different one) fans: I don’t know what fans I want just yet but something that has RGB and is white. Storage: I already have storage and plenty of it. If im forgetting anything let me know.
  14. I’m working on a new desk setup and I recenter got a new desk and painted the wall. Right now the wall is really blank and I need to add stuff to it and was wondering if anyone had suggestions. I’ll leave some photos down before (ignore the cable management for now). I also want to make the desk more custom and personal. I have an idea of what I would maybe add which can be seen in some of the photos below. I do photography a lot and want to add some of my photos to the setup that’s the most important part of what I want. Also the books I have are the destiny collection books that I want to add. Those are just a couple of ideas I have. Some themes I want to integrate are photography, space, and Destiny 2 stuff.
  15. Current Pc Parts: -CPU: Intel i7-9700k -GPU: EVGA RTX 2070 Black Edition -CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken x62 -Mobo: Asus z390-E Gaming -Ram: Corsair Vengeance RGB pro 32g @3000MHz -Storage: Toshiba 1TB 7200rpm -Case: NZXT H500 -Extra: NZXT Hue 2; White CableMod Cables I won't be selling it with a hard drive. I payed around 1700-1800 for it when it was new. How much could I sell for today?
