    New Compact Fanless PC

Honestly I'm not surprised they can be fanless, considering they've just got celerons inside. The trash chromebooks I use at school also have celerons inside, and they're cooled by nothing but a small copper heat spreader on the die, which dissipates heat into the keyboard (as long as the incompetent techs don't forget to put the heat spreader when they replace the keyboard). Even when mine didn't have a heat spreader, it still worked when it wasn't under a sustained load with zero cooling.

Do i need to upgrade from my Core I7 7700?

np. First time i was building my PC I got a free i5 3470 and i tried to put it in my mobo to replace my i3 2120 and I spent like a month sad thinking my cpu was broken before I learned about chipsets lol.

Do i need to upgrade from my Core I7 7700?

The physical socket is the same, but the chipset on the Motherboard is different and won't be compatible.

    New PC Build

Do you plan on building the whole new PC from scratch? because you could likely reuse quite a few pieces from your current build (storage, PSU, cooler maybe). Also what resolution do you play at?

    New RAM

The "Best RAM" really depends on what you want it for, just about all RAM functions pretty much the same. For PCs with Ryzen CPUs, I'd get at least 3000Mhz RAM, because memory speed has more performance impact with AMD CPUs. For Intel CPUs there's less of a difference, so you could get away with like 2400Mhz if you don't feel like spending more on faster RAM For CAS latency 16 is basically the most common, so get 16 or below. And other than that, everything else about RAM is really just aesthetic. the best for the money would just be the most boring looking stuff you can find.

    Imgur is safe to use?

Yes, people use it all the time to host images.
  7. Hi, IDK if this is exactly the right subforum but I hope it's close enough. I have the AT&T "Unlimited and More" plan, and on https://www.att.com/plans/unlimited-data-plans.html it says "On AT&T Unlimited &MoreSM, for all data usage, customer may temporarily experience reduced speeds on these line(s) during times of network congestion. Video streaming is limited to 1.5 Mbps (SD quality)." When I used my old phone from AT&T (shitty ZTE Maven 3), I could never increase any video quality over 480p (the option wasn't even there for anything, not even when I was on wifi lol). But I got my new LG G3, and now I can watch videos in up to 1080p (I think I once even saw the 1440p option available) even on just 4g. So now I'm just slightly curious if AT&T can tell I'm doing it, and if it's likely I'll see any repercussions.

    Can AT&T tell that I'm watching 1080p?

    Alright, thanks!

    Build compatability

BTW if you ever have questions about compatibility in the future, you should try out pcpartpicker.com, it automatically checks compatibility and also has some other useful things.

      Windows7ge

It's not terrible compared to 7. Has some nice extra perks. There's just a lot of shit you have to edit/disable.

If you have any use for Linux you can now install a native Terminal on your computer with your choice of Linux flavor :D

  11. I'm finally submitting and upgrading to windows 10 from 7.

It has its issues but a lot can be fixed during the initial install. I just re-installed yesterday too.

    First Build

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#c=133&e=63,31,15,30,14,6,8, a list of B450 motherboards with wifi. Ofc you could also get a PCIE wifi adapter. I personally would get 3000Mhz, but 2666 should be enogh if you don't like paying the bit extra. Those all should work together. I don't know if you've used it, but for future reference pcpartpicker will automatically do compatibility checks.

    New build polish

Only thing I can think is off is 32Gb of RAM... will you really need all that RAM? (IDK your use case though so maybe you do) If you don't, I'd go down to 16Gb of RAM and get a drive for games and stuff. I don't know about you but I'd go through 500Gb pretty quick. I bought a 1Tb SATA SSD for like 100 dollars on sale and I've been loving it, but a hard drive is still a good choice for games and stuff.

Is my GPU dead or is this a psu issue?

That sounds like the GPU. If you have any friends/family with PCs or an extra one, ask them if you can put your GPU into their PC, and if it still doesn't work then you know for sure it's the GPU. I can tell it probably isn't the PSU because if your graphics card was okay, the PC would still probably be able to turn on and display, because the GPU won't consume a lot of power when it's not really doing anything. The onboard video not working while you've got your graphics card plugged in is probably the motherboard trying to start the GPU, but it won't so it fails to POST.

Java: How to parse Double into Int?

    Couldn't you just cast the double to an int, like int convertedFromDouble = (int)inputDouble;

    FloatPlane For Everyone

why other than being able to see videos before they release, some exclusives, and higher quality streams, there's not really any other features we floatplane subs get. Also, floatplane is missing some functions Youtube has, like subtitles and searching (although there's not much to search through, only 3 creators right now).

New build with a few questions

If you don't plan on overclocking, I'd keep the cooler you have rn. If you plan on OCing, I'd get a better one but I don't know enough about different coolers to recommend one. Idk what to say about the PSU, it seems good to me but I don't have the knowledge. It might work, nothing would get hurt if you tried to boot to the SSD. Otherwise you'll have to reinstall windows. It's not hard to make a new installer, just grab a thumb drive (back up the contents) and use Rufus to burn a Windows 10 ISO onto the drive, then boot to the USB drive and install windows. I'd get either the 1660ti or 2060, depending on how much you want to spend and what monitor(s) you have
  22. Adorable Cat

    Whats the difference?

RTX 2080 has raytracing and DLSS support, and is also a newer card than the 1080, so performs a bit better. I'd get the 2080 for gaming and streaming because it's just a better performer, and it also has some better encoding stuff from what I've read.

First custom build: Should I do it myself?

You can do it, my cat believes in you. There's plenty of guides here and all over the internet in case you get stuck, but really a PC just goes together like a very expensive lego set, and lots of parts are designed so you can't accidentally put them in the wrong way.
  24. Adorable Cat

    Is this PSU enough ?!

Yes, 500 watts will be plenty. although that PSU looks like it's seen some better days. edit: according to someone else it's 430 watts.

Dual 144hz Monitor on RX 580

If you're just having non-gaming stuff on the side, then I don't see it having much of a performance impact.
