  1. Hey guys So i recently installed ubuntu on my old laptop alongside Windows 10(dualboot). That's my first time installing Ubuntu ever as i used on VMs. But i screwed up. I installed ubuntu 17.10 which is poorly built os which i installed before in a VM 2 years ago. Like it doesn't have much support for apps. I had a hard time installing grub customizer & wine refused everytime i tried to install it. And it's support in the community is very rare & irrelevant. So i did some research & found out that Pop-OS is one of the best distros based on ubuntu. And it pretty seemed good to me. I already have downloaded the iso. But i already have ubuntu installed on it. So I'm confused whether installing it over ubuntu won't conflict the grub or it won't affect Windows 10 installed on it. Can i just update to Pop-OS through ubuntu?. I'm a newbie to Linux personally but i know to use it. So guys just help me out please. Thank you
  2. Bruh. I don't have a 10gb system. I meant i have a pc with 10gb more ram than my laptop has. And no. I didn't find anything suspicious. I'll reset my laptop & try.
  3. 10 gb?. I have 4gb ram laptop, 6gb one which has this issue & my 16gb ram pc. The 6gb ram laptop only has this issue. Maybe I'll reset the system
  4. Yeah but my 10yr old laptop with 4gb ram has about 35% usage. That's why it seems a bit suspicious Here's a screenshot
  5. I know to manage task manager. No startup apps except dolby tray icon & conexant tray icon is enabled. Before the ram usage was significantly less. But after that update, it has high ram usage.
  6. No suspicious activity found on it. I forgot to upload a screenshot of task manager while uploading this post lol. Everytime cpu, drive, gpu etc. Stays below 10% except ram. It always stays above 60% after that update. I have a old pc with 4gb ram which stays around 30% utilization.
  7. I have licensed mcafee(i got it for free tho. So why not) & scanned it. No viruses found. In task manager, ram usage is always above 60%. I just forgot to paste a screenshot of task manager to this post lol. Even i tried to uninstall several apps but it's of no use. It didn't work.
  8. Hey Guys So a few days ago, I updated my Laptop from Windows 10 1607 to Windows 10 1909. Since then i have many issues with my laptop. The RAM usage stays over 60% even at idle. It hurts the gaming performance significantly as i play esports games with it. It has 6GB ram(Very unusual config). I had experienced several times crash after that update. Like when i use OBS or XSplit(Vcam too). It really annoys me. It doesn't happen on my other Systems. so guys, help me solving this issue. Laptop specs Lenovo Ideapad 310 Intel Core i5 7200u 6GB ram Geforce 920m 1tb hdd My other pc(this doesn't have this issue) Ryzen 5 3600X 16GB ram RTX 2070 super 1tb 970 evo 2X 4tb 860 evo
  9. I agree. But some product warranties is not applicable to our country as it is imported. Especially PC parts. But laptops do have warranty if it's easily available here. Thanks buddy
  10. I agree that PS4 will be obsolete. I have used Lenovo for the past 11 years(Now I'm 18). I didn't suffer any battery issues with them. But the battery will die eventually after few years. I have all of my laptops i owned before. Lenovo has a great speakers, don't overheat & is not loud. But i would consider Asus for gaming as my pc rocks asus components. But my pc doesn't have a warranty as the parts are imported & doesn't cover warranty. But laptops do have warranty if i purchase it from local major stores rather than an online store. So definitely gonna consider that.
  11. Hey guys So after this pandemic, I'm gonna go to a college where it is too far from our home. So I'm gonna stay in a hostel. I can't just take my gaming Setup there as it will be a hard time to do that. So should i buy a gaming laptop or just use my ps4 pro connected to my laptop through elgato capture card. I'm planning to buy a laptop for my college works but i can't take a chunky gaming laptops but i needed one. I have a ps4 pro at home & a capture card. I could take them to the hostel & use my existing or a new laptop as a monitor to play with. As you know, i can't take my monitor to play games there. But is this the good idea?. I have a Lenovo laptop with Core i5 7th gen, 8gb ram, geforce 920m etc. Which is a pretty decent laptop for me as i have a gaming PC. But i wanted to buy a laptop for gaming but i too need portability. Whereas in ps4, i can leave it on my hostel room & take a compact laptop to the class. If u have a compact laptop that can game, please recommend me. I would mainly prefer Lenovo(as my uncle work for Lenovo & he'll give me one for free for education purposes) & apple(my brother work for them. So he could buy it for an affordable price). I like rest of the companies but they don't have their service centers in our locality(Acer, Gigabyte, etc. Idk about asus, hp & dell). We do have Lenovo & apple service centers. If i buy a macbook, i could use it as a monitor for my ps4 as i don't have to carry a monitor for that. If i buy any other gaming laptops which are compact, they can be used for both productivity, education & gaming. Or should i stick stick with my existing laptop with that ps4 & elgato setup. What are your opinions on using a laptop as a display for ps4 through an elgato capture card. Thank you so much
  12. AIO(Corsair H100i pro) and 5ghz overclock by me. And i ran that system off by my SSD which could apply the GPU overclock. So it could cause it to crash. He uses that PC for Cad software, structure designing, and sometimes for CNC cutting.
  13. That's true. Navi GPU'S have shitty drivers. So it could be the cause for it.
  14. I had many power hungry parts like i5 8600k, 2x 2tb hdd, and so on.
  15. GPU is a bit power hungry i guess. So it crashes. I too used my GTX 1070 on a 450w psu just for fun on my uncle's PC and it crashed. All u do until you get your New psu is to turn on power saving in windows as it consumes less power. It would help you for some time.
  16. You will find pins for many front panel connectors like power button, hdd indicator etc. All you do is search for power button pins which is 2 pins, just make them come in contact with each other using a screwdriver and it will turn on. Sorry for my bad English Search it on YouTube or Google if you need an in-depth explanation on how to do that.
  17. It's enough for my use(It was my mom's phone for 2 weeks after purchasing, then she bought a Galaxy S9. If i wanted to buy a phone, i would go for better models)
  18. Hey everyone Recently i found out that my Samsung phone (Galaxy J6+)randomly heats up to an untouchable temperature and it emits an unpleasant battery burning smell. It happened to me 2 times last week. But now it seems fine to me. I turned off the Phone immediately so that it would not catch fire and kept it off for few hours. Yesterday too it happened to me. When i had to attend a wedding, the phone started producing that smell and i immediately turned it off. I spent that whole day and night without my phone and used a nokia 3x4 keypad phone until today evening after my school. I wrote this topic on the same phone and was a bit warm . But i didn't feel it until i hold it for a few seconds. I'm not worried about the damage of that phone in the future but I'm worried about the injury it could cause to me and others if it starts burning. So guys i kindly need your help regarding this whether should i consult a nearby Samsung service center for a fix or other ways for it. I really need your help. This is my first phone i got after many years of using my mom's phone. I expected this as a good device but i didn't even imagine that this would happen to me. So please help me guys My device: Samsung Galaxy J6+ I could've used my PC to type this but my exams are near and i don't want to waste my time on my PC. So this is a quick typing from my phone so it may contain some grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes. And Sorry for my bad english. Thank you guys. Love u all.
  19. My first pc died a year ago. It was running windows XP and everything was fine. Then i installed Windows 10 on it(it's Pentium 4 and 512mb ram). It still ran fine until the board died :(. BTW I'm doing this just for fun.
  20. Yeah. That's what i was thinking about. Maybe I'll give up on this.
  21. I do have older hardware lying in our store room Since 2006.
  22. Maybe the Ram has compatibility issues or the CPU has overclocking issues. Try to use the ram with the lower frequency than the specifed speed or tweak some overclocking if you have overclocked it. Then try to use it. And if u are upgrading to RTX 2070 in the future, i would consider to buy a power supply with higher capacity enough for the GPU to run.
  23. Maybe the front panel headers are the issue It behaves like this if there's an issue with front panel headers
