  1. Wow, I had no idea that this is what the NUC was. I am impressed and it would be cool to actually win one of these. I have been considering building a media PC but this seems like an easier solution.
  2. I was actually looking at the 980 version of this card. I did however choose to go with the MSI version as it was released earlier and I have had good past experiences with MSI.
  3. I really enjoyed the overview of the settings that can be done to the phone. I like how they tweaked it so you can experience some of the customization of rooted/unlocked phones all of the while not having to go through the process of actually doing it.
  4. For the price point, I would be willing to fork over $10 more for a Ducky or any other board really. This board is brand new and out side of the gaming community I don't think many people will be looking for a board like this. I would not mind testing out the switch but I think that I would be indifferent and stick with my DS3 with blues instead of Razer's green switches where I can't customize my keycaps to PBT.
  5. I think that it really depends on the type of music and the mood you are in. For bass heavy music, I would prefer to have a little more umph to my music rather than it being flat. Though there may be vocals in some trance/house music, the bass would be more appealing to me in that situation rather than just the vocals. That isn't to say that I would like the music to be muddled with bass.
  6. I'm from Kansas... Actually I'm in the Kansas City area where fiber could be available to me. This makes me sad... I really wish there could be a change of how things like this are viewed. Most companies charge an exorbitant amount of money for internet that they consider "fast". Why not let the expansion of fiber happen so that other companies will change to faster internet as well? I know it is easier said than done, but it seems as though it's stuff like this that hinders expansion.... Just my 2 cents.
  7. It depends really. Do you want a keyboard that has more flashy light effects while typing/gaming? Or do you want a quality board that is pretty much back lit with some features? If it's the first and you feel like forking over more money, go for the Shine 3. Otherwise if you just want a quality board with some back light features besides on/off then go with the Shine 2. Either way I would probably replace the ABS key caps in the long run with PBTs.
  8. I have gotten many Beta invites but due to work and being away from my PC I have not even had the chance to test it . In any case, I have played many subscription based games and think that this may be the one downfall to this game. I understand that it wants to charge for upkeep of various things such as servers and paying GMs etc. but $15 a month is too much. I agree with the OP that they should offer tiers of subscription fees. Just like WoW, they have $15 for 1 month and then $14 for 3 and then $13 or $12 for 6 months.
  9. There are many to choose from. The K70 is one but the gripe with Corsair that some have is that the LEDs fail after a while. While it may not happen to everyone, it is something to consider when getting a Corsair board. Another board, as others have mentioned, is the Razer BW ultimate. The only gripe I have with this board is that it is priced more than others. Plus if you would ever like to change keycaps on this board it will be hard to find key caps that are the right size for the bottom row. Personally I would recommend the Roccat Ryos MK Pro. Though it is priced substantially higher than other boards, it provides your choice of switches plus the macro keys and other backlighting features (that you may or may not care about). I have the Brown switch version and LOVE it. It has 2 USB ports and the audio and mic plug that you are looking for.
  10. I am new to this forum and so far I love it. Just to post I have a Ducky Shine 3 MX Blues with Blue Backlight. I have replaced the caps with white side print PBT caps from Qtan. I also have a Roccat Ryos MK Pro with MX Browns. Thinking about getting a Novatouch TKL from CoolerMaster whenever it comes out. Any one here own a Topre that would like to comment on how they feel vs cherry switches?
  11. Ok, I think for financial constraint I will be purchasing the AD700x for gaming and general music listening. As well as a Blue Snowflake for a good mic without the super high price tag. Now... what to do with my old gaming headset... hrm.
  12. Oh ok, so having the mic on top of your monitor say like 2-3 feet away will still pic up your voice well? And PTT is no issue as I use it already unless it is not an option such as in Hangouts or Skype. Edit: Are the AKG K612 better than the ATH700x? they are on massdrop for 180 at the moment. Edit 2: I see that there is minimal difference from the Snowball Ice vs the Snowball. If I only use this for VoIP would the snowflake be worth it considering the Snowball is $50 and the Snowflake is $40? My desk is slightly cramped. I would probably have to move it behind something or it would be sitting where I usually have my water cup.
  13. Thanks for all the recommendations! I think I will probably pick up the ATH700x and a Blue Snowflake in a month or two. Or get an orange colored Blue Snowball with the ATH700x. Edit: Is the Snowflake a clip mic? Or what I mean to say is that will it clip on to the top of a monitor like a webcam? And how well does it hold/pic up audio? I would probably be about 2-3 feet away from the mic, I think.
  14. Ok so what would you recommend for stand alone mic and headphones if I don't need a sound card? I'd probably do the budget to like $250 or lower then
  15. Ok, so getting a ATH-A700x with a modmic or a blue snowflake would be better? Would I still need a soundcard or DAC?
