  1. Actually, as long as the deleted partition isn't overwritten by new partition, MiniTool Partition Wizard could recover it as well as the data. It's better to post a screenshot of the disk layout in MiniTool Partition Wizard or Windows Disk Management.
  2. You are not allowed to remove drive letter of D: in Disk Management since it is a recovery partition, but you can do it with a free partition magic tool. Currently, there are many free tools that can do this.
  3. The screenshot shows F: has 120GB free space left, so you can shrink this partition to get an unallocated space, and then create a new partition in the unallocated space for Ubuntu. If you receive an error message when creating a partition, just change the location of F: and the unallocated space, and then set F: logical. Both operations can be done using a free partitioning tool. After that, you can create a primary partition for Ubuntu.
  4. There are so many clone tools, which are better than VSS, and you can choose any of them. For me, I use MiniTool Partition Wizard since it also allows me to resize partition.
  5. Try enabling AHCI in BIOS, and then updating driver software from Device Manager.
  6. Just try uninstalling and reinstalling the related driver. If it can't fix, you need to purchase a new one.
  7. It seems file system of the drive has been corrupted. In this case, the best way is to recover data using data recovery software, and then reformat the drive.
  8. Just copy old disk to new disk using minitool partition wizard free version, then connect new disk only (disconnect old disk) and see whether it is bootable. If the new disk is bootable, you can connect both disks, start computer, choose to boot from new disk (there should be a Windows boot manager which allows you to choose a system/disk to boot), and finally format the old disk for data use. If there is no Windows boot manager, you need to change boot order in BIOS. For how to change boot order, you can google how to change boot order plus your computer or MB type.
  9. After data recovery programs find your data, just choose these files, and then save or recover them to another location. Didn't you see the Save or Recover button in the program? You can take a screenshot to show the scanning results window.
  10. Recovering data in the drive where data was lost might overwrite lost data, and overwritten data can't be recovered by any data recovery solution. I got this information while browsing minitool's official website, a data recovery software developer, and it should be true. So, it's better to buy a new HDD for recovery, or you can borrow an hdd for recovery, and then transfer data back to your own disk.
  11. You need to install your games onto the SSD if you pursue speed, because SSD has much faster speed to load games to RAM. You can clone the HDD to SSD if the SSD has enough space to hold contents on the HDD, or you can migrate OS and installed programs only to SSD. Both Samsung Data Migration tool and third party partitioning tools like MiniTool partition wizard could help you do this.
  12. I have cloned Windows 10 and Windows 7 from HDD to SSD, and all worked well. Cloning disk is a good idea if you do not want to reinstall Windows and programs.
  13. Just delete the recovery partition in minitool partition wizard, and then copy disk again.
  14. To fix such a kind of issue, just extend the system reserved partition (on MBR disk) or EFI system partition (on GPT disk). A freeware could do this, and you can find lots of such programs on the internet. minitool partition wizard is my favorite.
