  1. MacOS has some security built in, to check if it's running on Apple hardware. So running MacOS as a VM is not easy, but there are ways. Just google it. There are step by step instructions out there somewhere.
  2. do you have a dedicated GPU installed or are you only using the integrated one? Is it POSTing correctly? does the MB have a screen that shows POST codes? maybe you have bought a one directional HDMI cable
  3. Is anyone here already using the MacBook Pro 16"? What are you thinking of it? How is the new keyboard? I am thinking of upgrading from my 13" 2017 one, because i'd like to get a bigger display and a larger SSD capacity. Also please do not hate on my, i just prefer Macs for mobile.
  4. I heavent found out very much about that error and i also never have heard of it, but it seems like some sort of hardware defect. i would try unplugging everything, that is not needed to boot the system (USB Headers, USB Devices, PCIe Cards, not needed Drives) and try to boot it again. Maybe that helps. I once had a problem that was caused by a defective USB Port on the Case. Unplugged the USB header and it worked fine.
  5. like what? most errors do give you some idea whats wrong with the system
  6. of course it can be the reason. what is the error message on the frowny face screen or in the Windows event viewer?
  7. WTF.. Nevermind... about 45€ for shipping is ridiculous....
  8. i didn't check shipping prices, but it can't be that expensive.
  9. I wanted to get the new Constellations T-Shirt (Large) but it has been sold out for weeks. Does anyone know if they will restock?
  10. The older Mac Minis of the last gen have quad core processors, but Apple later decided to "upgrade" the quad core to dual core.
  11. i'd probably go for a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro without touchbar. The "lower end" one with the Intel i5, wich is powerful enough for most things.
  12. Happend to me once as well. Since that happend to me, I actually started reading manuals for motherboards.
  13. I checked the manual for your motherboard: With one module you have to use the A2 Slot
  14. ok. How much Ram modules are you using and which Ram slots are populated?
  15. Just to be sure; you don't get a picture on your screen? Is it a pre-build system or did you build the system yourself? If it is pre-build I would try contacting the retailer and don't do anything else as they might not fix it if you did anything to it. If you build it yourself; I would try only using one RTX and/or trying an older GPU (if you have one lying around
  16. That sounds like everything is alright. Try plugging your screen into another Graphics card (also try the integrated one)
  17. I have a very similar setup as you ( i7-6700K; MSI Z170a Gaming M5 Motheroard; Gigabyte GTX 970; and 16 GB Hyper-X ddr4) and i upgraded my GPU to a 1080Ti and i added another 8GB of RAM. I personally thing your system in still a very capable system, but of course that always depends on what you are doing with it. If you want to upgrade something, I suggest that you go for a GTX 1070, 1080 or 1080Ti, as prices for the 10-Series are dropping now. Of course you should check what framerates you are getting right now and if you would get any noticeable performance boost out of it and if your screen can handle the higher framerate
  18. What does it do when you turn it on?
  19. What I know Windows Server doesn't even support all SATA controllers, so i would defenetly check the Manufacturers website if swichting to AHCI doesn't help
  20. Maybe you are missing some (probably SATA) Drivers. I would check the manufacturers website.
  21. I think a keyboard is a very personal device, with personal preferences, so I would just go to a local store and try a couple of different keyboards.
  22. I have this PSU and it has been reliable for me over the last couple of years. It defnetly has enough power for your system. I don't know how pricing is in your country. https://www.amazon.de/Thermaltake-Berlin-80Plus-Bronze-zertifiziert/dp/B004YISIB2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1539603433&sr=8-2&keywords=thermaltake+netzteil
  23. Here with me, the second one is about 1000 Money (sorry, i don't know which currency this is) cheaper
  24. I'd Probably go for the second one. They seem very similar and the second one is cheaper.
