  1. When are the new Ryzen processors going to be available for consumer purchases?
  2. Thanks, the instructions mentioned signing in to the modem and setting up features. It has two ports on the back that can be used to increase it's ethernet bandwidth which I inferred may mean it had a partial router/limited firewall functionality. I will get a Wireless Router before I intend to start using this in place of the Xfinity rented modem. Any wireless router recommendations?
  3. The online documentation I have found for the "Netgear Nighthawk CM1100 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem" has been very limited in detail. I intend to install a Wifi router behind this Cable Modem. Question: Does the "Netgear Nighthawk CM1100 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem" allow for setting up DMZ, port forwarding and or pass through?
  4. Have you run windows 10 before with hardware combination? If you have, what has changed? If you found compatibility issues, for example with hard drives supported modes in BIOS, have you tried to use a fix?
  5. I was thinking the same thing. My issue is I may not be able to afford a new system by then due to problematic employment issues. In other words, I could be unemployed. This system would hopefully help me find new employment opportunities.
  6. I just double checked. https://pcpartpicker.com does not support Threadripper.
  7. Objective: Build a new AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2920X workstation for 3D games Programming Streaming Application design Application programming SQL Server VM hosting Web Server Some CAD Gaming. Note: I prefer easy of maintenance, will not use RGB, most likely run stock settings, and will probably be running all of my objectives simultaneously. Recommendations and any compatibility issues are what I am looking for. I can not afford to spend more on this huge investment. I do not like gamble on used equipment. 1) CPU AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2920X (12-Core/24-Thread) Processor 4.3 GHz Max Boost 38MB Cache (YD292XA8AFWOF) 2) Mother Board Gigabyte AMD Ryzen Thread Ripper TR4/ATX /3X M.2/Front USB 3.1 Type C/Intel LAN/ALC1220/ Motherboard (X399 AORUS PRO) by Gigabyte OR GIGABYTE X399 AORUS Xtreme (AMD Ryzen Thread Ripper TR4/E-ATX /3X M.2/WiFi/Front USB 3.1 Type C/Dual Intel LAN/Motherboard) 3) CPU Cooler *Prefer no RGB Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 Premium-Grade 140mm CPU Cooler for AMD TR4/SP3 OR Cooler Master MLX-D36M-A20PC-T1 MasterLiquid ML360 RGB AIO CPU Liquid Cooler Thread Ripper TR4 Triple 120mm RGB Air Balance MF 4) Memory Corsair LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz C16 DDR4 DRAM Memory Kit, Black (CMK32GX4M2B3200C16) 5) SSD Samsung 970 EVO 1TB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD (MZ-V7E1T0BW) 6) Power Supply EVGA Supernova 850 G3, 80 Plus Gold 850W, Fully Modular, Eco Mode with New HDB Fan, 10 Year Warranty, Includes Power ON Self Tester, Compact 150mm Size, Power Supply 220-G3-0850-X1 7) Computer Case Cooler Master MasterCase H500M ATX Mid-Tower, four tempered glass panels, two 200mm ARGB fans with Controller and three Cable Management Covers Case ? 8. Realistically, if this is not fake news, when should we expect this technology to be for sale for Threadripper? Early 2019, mid 2019, 2020? Also, can we expect a massive market inflation over MSRP like the GTX 1080 ti?
  9. That's the link I was trying to find on google. Google came back with a similar one that required me to setup an account. Thanks.
  10. I am also looking for a PC parts picker website. I found one but they want me to setup an account with login. Tired of having yet another online account. Have you found any recommendations yet?
  11. We live in a society and not in isolation. To believe we live really have privacy is a deception. Law enforcement is there keep the piece. To be fair and protect the innocent, they need evidence to pass fair judgment and reduce harm. If current mass produced technology goes against protecting the peace, the current technology will have to be shelved until a reasonable solution can be found. Currently, tech companies primary concern is maximizing profits (privacy is a big seller). Apple is an example. They do not want to be involved with how their devices are being used. The world we live in is becoming more dangerous. Just recently a baggage handler stole a plane, performed stunts, and crashed it. Solution: 1) IT: Devise a secure method with sufficient protection to allow legal warrants to access the information requested. 2) Personally: Assume nothing is secure. 3) Personally: Take precautions to protect your data without the aid of another entity.
  12. If you can find a clean bed sheet, you can dress up a corner of a room to take pictures of your chassis against a distraction free back ground.
  13. It is hard to look at your build with what ever it is sitting on. Did you have a fire in the room? The overall background clutter and color scheme detract from your build?
  14. Do you have a possible short? Have you tried running the components outside the chassis? If it still does not work, remove one component at a time with the Mother board being last.
  15. I keep hearing ASIC miners are going to be arriving soon, GPU orders by block chain miners are down, and a law suit for unfair and inflated memory prices is on the way. Questions: Can you wait a month or two? Have you considered a AMD ryzen?
