  1. I currently have an EVGA GTX 970. I wanna try out Polaris because I've always been curious what the red team experience is like!
  2. I like higher end motherboard videos because they woo me. Much in the same way watching videos on the GTX Titan do. But stuff like this is great when I need to be realistic and buy a new mobo. Keep doing what you're doing slick!
  3. This would be perfect for college! I would love to have one:D
  4. If I won, I would man up and finally upgrade my PC like I've been wanting to. I'm thinking dual 970s and a boot SSD... a big one.
  5. Just getting into programming so those books would sure come in handy! Love the livestreams!
  6. No one else seems to think this but I'm totally digging the PSU. Them colors man. Them colors.
  7. The omega looks far more reasonable since it'll fit in my case. But if I owned the extreme I'd buy a new car just for it.
  8. I joined when I was looking to build my own pc from scratch and didn't know squat. I think my first video was a motherboard but honestly there's no telling, I've seen so many of your videos it could've been about potato salad... Actually that would've stood out. My favorite video still remains as the Corsair 1200i, when you threw it out the window of your moving car my heart stopped. It's been an amazing time and I can't wait til you hit 2 million!
  9. I'm sorta stuck on my budget so I think I'll be taking the LG TV. But down the line I will definitely look into Optoma some more. Thanks for the mention.
  10. So my LED TV suddenly went awol and colors got all distorted on me (it kinda looks like everything's running in 256 bit mode since basic blues and greens seem to not be affected). Anyways it served me well, I got it for free, and I'm moving so I figure now is as good a time as any for something new. My old was a 45 inch screen so I'd like something about along that size but I'd be willing to go down a little, not up. 1080p, not totally into higher resolution that have little to no content yet(saving that for a monitor;)). It's main purpose would be console gaming and Netflix. No smart TV or built in disc reader(do they still do that?). Oh and maybe cable but whatever. I'm not looking for 3D but if it was in budget with a decent TV then why not. My budget here is 500. One of my main questions is whether it should be another TV or a projector. Does my price range allow for a decent enough projector/screen to match what kind of TV that can buy me? Any thoughts or inputs are greatly appreciated. Oh and I plan on sound system one way or another so that won't be a problem with the projector.
  11. It's sorta hard to pick. But Tech Quickie has made me win so many arguments against friends that they don't dare argue knowing I can win and back it up with your videos. So here's the first one that one new an argument:AMD Crossfire vs NVIDIA SLI as Fast As Possible: And if course Jay got me with those Nerd Blocks:Unboxing our Nerd Blocks! And One To Give Away?:

  13. If you have twitch mobile you can choose to listen to the stream like a live podcast. I don't know about if it's not live though.
  14. Just thought I'd say this since you mentioned the person who didn't end up enjoying the clothing enough to keep up with the subscription. I was really skeptical. I don't have a lot of money, but I just recieved my second month's package of clothing (plus that little added bonus they seem to throw in), and I'm satisfied. I just graduated highschool. I'm not amazingly in shape nor amazingly out of it. I've grown accustomed wearing just jeans and t-shirts, never really nicer shirts and never shorts in public besides swim trunks and gym shorts when needed. This was mostly out of no motivation to shop for clothing/ I didn't really care. I saw this, saw the 15$ off and took it. First month was okay, got some shirts, shorts and a pair of glasses. And this month was a bunch of shirts and a travel kit. Now my life hasn't changed for the better or anything dramatic like that, but I get compliments on my look now and I really like the way I look in these clothes. The quality is great and they are really comfortable clothes to wear. I picked up some nicer looking shoes and when I look in my mirror with the whole outfit it looks like I could have spent good time and money in a mall shopping for clothes. If nothing else, I am damn impressed with being able to look good without trying. Five Four has my approval as of now and I am happy to see what month three can provide. So if you're wondering about it and you sound similar to me, try it, you might like it after all. I did. *Edit: I feel I should mention, I didn't really have to change my conservative look. I managed to stay conservative with no flambouyant colours and just look (IMO) better with it. Also, my girlfriend enjoys it so there's that.
  15. I just love its mobility and gaming capabilities. I mean I love my desktop but if I can't game when I'm in between classes I don't have anything to do. Sign me up for a gaming laptop please? (signed by all the badass youtubers helps)
  16. My favorite part... It's a tie between the buttons on the back, or that massive pixel density! Awesome features for sure.
  17. Didn't work. I'm gonna blame it on my TV just not being equipped to do that stuff. All I get is black screens. It won't even let me make the custom resolution when it does work. I made the same res I have now but with 60Hz instead of 30; it said it worked, but when I click to save it, there's no custom res. I'm just gonna switch back to DVI/VGA signal til I can get a monitor worth it's salt. Which might be soon hopefully. Thank you anyways, I should've thought to look back at this video in the first place.
  18. So I went into the NVIDIA Control Panel and simply disabled the other monitor and voila, it worked. Sad thing is now it only runs at 1768 x 992 at 30Hz. I wouldn't mind the resolution but is there nothing I can do about that refresh?
  19. So I got a 750Ti. I have my PC hooked up to my TV due to lack of monitor. When i first tried to use the HDMI it just flat out didn't work, so I just used the DVI to VGA adapter and used that. It works and all but.... I would really like it to stop being stupid and just work with my HDMI on my TV. So I can duplicate displays and extend displays and it'll show up, but the resolutions off, even though they are both separately set to 1080p(the VGA is working fine). If I set it to use only the HDMI connection it goes black screen til it resets after the 15 seconds. If I just unplug the VGA or don't plug it in at all it goes black. My TV recognizes a connection because the default screen is blue with a "No Connection" prompt or whatever. The HDMI is set as the primary display and everything. So what's going on here? Thanks, in advance. **I forgot to type "get" in the title.
  20. I made all my friends simply go to this page and click the link. If I win I can finally stop using an iPhone 4. I want LTE man!
  21. We're running it through the ceiling(10 feet high, simple foam tiles to lift, will be on ladders for a while). If I had to guess the whole thing will take 4-6 hours. The ladder part will be long but not really hard and the punching in will be tedious but again not "hard". The school is buying the materials and traveling costs isn't a thing I have to deal with. So I'm seeing that maybe a good medium would be $30-40/hour? Seeing as its not my first time doing this, I am 18, but it is my first time being contracted for this.
  22. Hey guys, I need help. I've been the tech assistant at my school for 2 years now. I've done a lot with them all out of the joy of being able to mess with tech. But now I have something I've never really dealt with before. The school wants to contract me and my friend(fellow tech assistant) to add some drops around the school. This is something I've done before, run the Cat5e cable from A to B and punch them into the switch. But they want me to give them a quote. They said the last guy they hired ran about $150 to do the job and he only ran one line. I'm well past okay with charging less than $150 a drop, and I know my friend is too. But what's a good rate? How much a drop, or even the whole job? It'll be 8 to 15 drops depending on I guess our charge. Whats a small enough quote that will still be a good amount on our part and won't just be slave labor at that point? Thanks to any and all answers and advice.
