There is always the freezer trick

I vaguely remember hearing something about that years ago. I'll have to look it up. Doesn't sound like a good idea though...

Its...one of those weird myths of a trick kinda like the thing linus did with microwaving a dead GPU to resolder it and bring it back to life

If it works long enough for me to save the data on it, I'll give it a shot.  

From what I'm reading, it used to work, but doesn't on modern HDDs. This is a good excuse to get that homemade NAS built and running sooner than later... 

Oh really now?  I wonder what has changed other than slave/master jumpers and capacity of course.

@App4that lol, yeah, none of that. Improved character models and customization, yes of course. But mostly visual, environmental and game-play mods, like realistic combat.

Dammit, that drive has all my EA Origin games on it as well.  Thank goodness for cloud saves...

Yeah cloud saves are the best thing about PC gaming.
