  1. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me find the best rendering laptop for roughly £1500 UK. Ideally we are looking to get the best value for our money, screen resolution is not a crucial factor so no cost needs to go into 165hz refresh rates or 4k, we just need performance and a colour accurate display. We plan on utilising Vray through 3DS Max and Sketchup but more compatibility the better. I looked around but anything decently priced seems out of stock so hoping there are some hidden gems out there. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Jamie
  2. Hi all, Just wanting some advice, Ive been given a budget of £680 to build a workstation that will run CAD, Photoshop and the office suite. I dont require a graphics card is not really required as use of CAD is minimal and onboard graphics should suffice. My current list is below, want to know what you would change if you could. I am limited to Amazon, the case needs to stay the same and I want to use Intel instead of Ryzen (I know that sounds silly for a workstation though). Thanks in advance! 3. Hi all, I was wondering what your recommendations are for a workstation IPS Monitor for under £150. It is being used in a commercial environment for use with CAD, Photoshop and 3D Rendering Software. Currently looking at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Monitor-1920x1080-Frameless-Certified/dp/B00YQKTGR8/ref=br_lf_m_jq9bwnvmo7wz4tm_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&s=computers Just wondering if there are better options available that anyone would recommend. Thanks in advance.
  4. Thats the main usage, though office suite and perhaps Unreal Engine 4 will be used for certain projects. We will be utilising a couple of different higher end rendering engines to achieve photographic quality renders (Vray, Arnold etc.) so not just the base programs.
  5. Hi all, Wondering if anyone can help me, I am currently planning a £800 - £1000 3D rendering build for 3DS Max and Sketchup - using Vray. This will be primarily a rendering, CAD and Adobe suit pc though being VR-ready capability would be very useful. Perhaps I should go with a Ryzen instead of a coffee lake, I know ryzens are generally geared more towards multi-core but in my personal usage with ryzen, I have been left underwhelmed. Here is my initial build idea minus RAM, it needs to look quite decent as it will be displayed and not hidden away : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/m9r8r6 all and any help would be appreciated! thanks!
  6. CAD, Photoshop (the adobe suite), Office Suite, Sketch-up. I was expecting the onboard gpu to be able to handle these minimal tasks. If not we can get a lower end GPU to cover the required bases. Nothing past this really, we have dedicated computers for higher end rendering.
  7. This looks promising, do you think the cpu cooler will handle the cpu when boosted to - say 3.2GHz? I know I wont get up to the 3.8 average without watercooling.
  8. Hi all, Long time browser of the forum, I am currently building up a PC for someone in my workplace with a budget of £600-700. It is mostly going to be used to run CAD, office suite, emails, photoshop and some light 3d and rendering. Generally I would like to stick with intel processors rather than a ryzen. I have opted for a 7600k due to it being rather cheap at the moment with options to overclock in the future (not that it will be needed really), with a fall back to an earlier i5 model if costs rise. Here is my current build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/wRhmYr Just wanted some opinions on the build, I dont think we need a dedicated gpu at this time. any help or advice would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.
