  1. Can we just go with complete bans from certain sections of the forum?
  2. Well for fun I would have to say doge, but it's not really viable to mine with a gpu. There are hundreds of other coins that you can mine running on a good dozen different algorithms that are currently asic resistant. Most of these use much less power then scrypt mining and don't stress your hardware nearly as much. You live under a rock or something? http://isbitcoindead.com/
  3. Yes, right there is 5 and that's just a buy it now, you can find them cheaper on auctions. Just give it up before you embarrass yourself further.
  4. There is no reason to buy new hardware. $337 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sapphire-AMD-R9-290X-4GB-GDDR5-Graphics-Card-/121377959009?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item1c42b0ac61
  5. You aren't going to want to have more then 6 gpus on one motherboard anyways, the software will be a bitch.
  6. A 295x is $1500, a 290x can be had used for $300. Use math, it's amazing.
  7. The problem with a GPU rig in this case is that if he needs your help in the first place he probably isn't going to make money. It's the kind of thing that if you have to ask the answer is probably no....
  8. I love how the whole process took less then 10 min. I guess it's like they say, you can have two, good, cheap, or fast. We went for cheap and fast.
  9. First, everything @RuecanOnRails said is spot on, but if you insist..... Don't preorder anything! If a shipping product is just out of stock it is fine to order for the next batch but don't preorder! Especially with your cost of power I would have to recommend something like the Antminer S3. https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020140704023505485N5SxDMkW0693 You could purchase as many as you want to reach your price point. With the current state of Litecoin and other scrypt based currencies I cannot recommend any scrypt Asics. Personally If I was investing more money into mining I would still go GPU, but atm I'm trying to keep the power bill under $600 a month There are MANY new coins and algorithms that are currently asic resistant and can mostly only be mined with Gpus. It is far more work then Asics to run and maintain but there is still some money to be made. Any Asic you buy will become obsolete, I have some Antminer S1s that will be paperweight before long. They did actually produce more Bitcoin than they cost, it's not "impossible".
  10. Bitcoin mining no, but it would work fine to mine coins using X11, X13, X14, X15, Scrypt-N, Keccak,, Groestl, Blake-256, and more. Not that anybody here would have ever heard of those.
  11. It's nice to see what California has done here, fixed outdated laws, it affects more than just Bitcoin. The ignorance in this thread is just startling and quite depressing. ...isn't it about time for China to ban Bitcoin again, it's been a while.
  12. So you can only make $.04 cents a day on a device that's worth $2. Soooooooo...... WTF did you expect? It's not dead, amateur hour is just over.
  13. Any little USB miners are a terrible value, just compare a Antminer U2 to an Antminer S1. The S1 gets 200GH overclocked, for $120 from Bitmaintech. The U2 gets 2GH, so unless you can find it for about $1.50....yeah...... Yup, just like PC gaming.
  14. They have been fine for me. Their shipping time is usually specified and is accurate. Gridseeds aren't perfect, but overall they are a fine product. They may have some new Zeusminer product as well.
  15. What I have is a gridseed blade that I got from Zoomhash.com Not saying you will make money or anything, it's like they say, "It's not how big it is, it's how you use it".
  16. LOL I was waiting for someone to say that. How is that $/GH ratio working out for you.
  17. So you're saying it's like a money tree right????? Where do I sign up?
  18. Well put @helping. Nowhere did I say that you should buy anything new. Mining shouldn't be profitable. There I said it. Is is? not for noobs. Do it for something you believe in, if you don't and are just here for free money then GTFO. As for what I make from mining. No, I don't worry about it in the least. Today I made twice what I "should have" on scrypt, while using half the power. And yes I was mining your mom. I am also fully aware that this place has turned me into an asshole. TL:DR-- If you are interested in Crypto-Currencies, ask away. Wait until @RuecanOnRails responds, read it and his past post on similar threads. Ignore all the other bullshit.
