  1. Hello, I must say i really enjoyed this video. I'm very familiar with dust and painting struggles and Linus provided excellent tips about this topic. Knowledge was shared that only hands-on time can teach you. Witty jokes and skits implementation was on point and amusing. I loved the honest approach and the whole video in general worked for me. For all the shit i gave Linus for 2x Xeons ghetto video, this was a welcome change. Great job guys, keep up the excellent work !
  2. I don't know were to start. I'm a long time LTT watcher and I really enjoyed the content over the years. Only recently I joined the forums, mostly because of the awesome giveaways. I admire and respect the progress Linus and his team made towards being one of the, if not the biggest Youtube tech channels (to my knowledge that is). Linus used to be cool and relatable, now he's just a cocky, ''hold it with three fingers and shake it vigorously'' kind of a guy. Having that said I must now voice my sincere opinion. I'm just gonna say it. The only INSANE thing in this video is the blatant disrespect for high tech components and the kind folks that sent you (presumably free) latest and greatest in computer technology. You're staking the worlds most powerful GPU on the market and using it as a counter weight when the big percentage of the viewers can barely afford an enthusiast grade graphics. The highly praised immature ''ghetto'' problems solving seen in this and some other videos is just nerve wrecking. Ghetto style repair is welcome and useful for when your motorcycle breaks down in a third world country and you need to get to the closest village to get a half decent repair done. It has no place in this builds. The worst thing is that this methods are encouraged and regarded good and practical alternatives to a proper problem resolution. Maybe Intel should take a similar approach when making your Xeons – how 'bout them apples. Just a quick note about zip ties, plastic mechanical properties change dramatically (exponentially) when exposed to even little temperature changes compared to metals. Plastics also feature other temperature and pressure accelerated processes. Its quite fascinating how plastic will go out of its way to release any internal stress and/or pressures. It a totally different ball game. I mean how long would you have to wait for the correct mounts to arrive. C'mon guys, you used to be better than this. As of lately more and more videos give me the chills. I understand that the pressure to produce daily videos is high and it is hard to come up with original material all the time, but still. I just … I can't … screw it. And whats up with all the sexual jokes all the time, not everyone watching is 12 years old. People and myself included are sick of it. Its like watching a single episode of Seinfeld every day for 5 years, jokes get old fast. You could argue that the whole channel is about improvisation, fun and creative problems solving (or by my opinion creative problem making down the road) but you just can do stuff like that on your level. I hope that this doesn't come out as an attack on someone's way of thinking and personality. Nor should said person change just because one guy on the forums thinks his actions reflect badly on him. This is a first time for me to comment on any video on the internet, and I probably spent way to much time composing this post. I apologies for spelling errors and such since my native language is not English. Hopefully this post brings a smile to someones face if nothing more =). Best of luck to everyone at LTT and have a nice day.
  3. Sounds like a great phone, my favorite thing about One M8 would be outstanding build quality and maxing the metal content. My HD Mini is getting veeeeery slow =).
  4. The shop is http://www.hardwareversand.de if you use links on http://www.idealo.de (price comparison site) you get slightly lower prices. The same configuration in my country would cost 100 € more, so i usually buy from Germany. Prices for particular item below Intel Core i3-4130 Box, LGA1150 - 95,29 € ASUS H81M-E, Sockel 1150, mATX - 45,56 € 4GB-Kit Corsair Valueselect DDR3-1333 CL9 - 36,74 € Samsung SSD 840 EVO Basic 120GB SATA 6Gb/s - 76,44 € Samsung SH-224DB schwarz - 14,02 € Corsair Builder Serie CX430 V3 Non-Modular 80+ Bronze, 430 Watt - 37,98 € Sharkoon VS3-Standard Chrom, ohne Netzteil - 22,89 € Shipping - 19,99 € Suggested SSD options are priced like this Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB - 65,81 € Crucial M500 120GB - 66,91 € The M500 is a good option as well, personaly i had an OCZ Agility 3 120GB that died, then Samsung 840 120GB which still runs great (i love the Magician software that comes with it). HDD option is 41 € but i really want fast booting, this PC will not run all day long. I did look at AMD APU options, which one would perform equal to i3-4130 ? A8-6600K - 82,37 € A10-6800K - 116,79 € A10-7700K - 134,25 € Motherboard for AMD is prices almost the same as H81.
  5. Hello ! Planning a PC build for my parents. Its going to be used for web browsing, mail checking, office use (word, excel, powerpoint), HD video streaming (aka news and youtube) and general audio and HD video playback. I was thinking something like this with a total 348,91 € with shipping. Also fast boot and snappiness is a must - therefore SSD. Will be using the iGPU. Intel Core i3-4130 Box, LGA1150 ASUS H81M-E, Sockel 1150, mATX 4GB-Kit Corsair Valueselect DDR3-1333 CL9 Samsung SSD 840 EVO Basic 120GB SATA 6Gb/s Samsung SH-224DB Corsair Builder Serie CX430 V3 Non-Modular 80+ Bronze, 430 Watt Sharkoon VS3-S Is the i3 enought for intended use ? Is 4 GB of RAM enought when using iGPU for intended use ? Does it need to be DDR3-1600 - any effect on iGPU ? Haswell PSU compatibility - does disabling C6/C7 states permanetly solve potencial problems ? I know that the PSU is total overkill but i want something 80+ Bronze certified and a decent brand name. Any suggestions, ideas, thoughts ? Best regards !
  6. Thats what i thought. Why is everybody voting on the FX-6300 OC option in my first pool ? Maybe they didnt see that price is the same as a i5 option.
  7. Votes are coming in . In my case i5 + MB is the same price as FX-6300 + MB + cooler. How come i5 is not a better choice ?
  8. Hello ! Greeting from Europe ! Let get right to the point ... i'm trying to build a console alternative PC. I have read a lot of forums so far but there is something that bothers me. Usually everyone everywhere agrees that FX-6300 is a better choise over i3-3220 or i3-4130. Some of the main arguments are one more ''real'' core, better for future games (using more cores) and because you can overclock it. If you want to overclock FX-6300 you need a good motherboard, at least 970 chipset or preferably 990. 760G boards are just not designed for overclocking. And of course we cant forget a decent cooler - 212 EVO seem to be the value/performance champion. Well the 212 EVO is to tall for my budget case so i found TX3 EVO - a nice alternative for a great price here in German stores. So lets do some math shall we: ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0, AM3+, ATX 79,15 € (Nice quality overclock ready board) AMD FX-6300 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+ 95,90 € (Tray option is more expensive) Cooler Master Hyper TX 3 EVO - Intel/AMD 19,84 € Total 194,89 € Lets find something in that price range at Intel side: MSI B75MA-E33, Intel B75, mATX, DDR3 45,48 € (Second cheapest B75 board in the online store) Intel Core i5-3350P Box, LGA1155 146,22 € Intel stock cooler (because we wont overclock) Total 191,70 € People usually say to go with i5 if you have enough money. Which one of those two is a better option for gaming only (old, current and new titles). Please keep in mind upgradeability. Is it a overclocked FX-6300 or is it stock i5-3350P ? Please use pool. Since my budget is quite strict i'm afraid the first two options are over the limit. My last question is again which of this two options is best. I prefer not to overclock since this PC is not for me (building for a beginner user) so i cant control how often is the dust cleaned, where the case is located, etc. MSI 760GM-P23 (FX), Sockel AM3+, mATX, PCIe 34,37 € (Cheap board not meant for overclocking) AMD FX-6300 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+ 95,90 € (Stock speeds) Total 130,27 € MSI H81M-P33, mATX, Sockel 1150 39,52 € Intel Core i3-4130 Box, LGA1150 98,31 € (Stock speeds) Total 137,83 € Other info about my build: Limit CPU+MB 140 € GPU MSI R9 270 GAMING 2G, AMD Radeon R9 270, 2GB DDR5 152,70 € PSU Seasonic S12II-520, 520 Watt, 80PLUS Bronze 54,37 € RAM 8GB Kit DDR3 1600 CL9 I will apreciate every vote and reply, please tell me your opinion about my alternative console build FX-6300 + R9 270 or i3-4130 + R9 270 (total budget is 499 € - like Xbox One). Have a nice day !
