You know the saying "once an addict always an addict"?

Well, this morning I'm trying that on my own body.

Long story short, I fell and hurt my back and had to go to the ER.

Apparently the doctor ignored, or didn't hear, me say that I didn't want opiates due to my former drug habit.

Because right now I'm feeling withdrawals coming and the same cravings I did when I was still shooting up.

Odds are that you'll be over it pretty soon.  However if the cravings persist for a while keep the following in mind : You've beaten it once, you can do it again.

Don't hesitate to seek help with that, there's plenty of organizations that help people with addiction and I'm pretty sure they'll be happy to help you out if they hear about the circumstances.

And be sure to file a complaint against that doctor, what he did was seriously irresponsible.  You're always supposed to ask a patient about allergies and addictions before prescribing medication, especially when the medication is known to have an addictive effect.

The morning nurse is taking her rounds now, so I'll talk to her about it.

While I'm 99% sure I got some kind of opiate last night, I guess it could also be a mixture of placebo and effects of a different drug.

    I'll know in due time.

If I did indeed get opiates, then yes, I'm going to file a complaint. Not only did I tell them, but I know for a fact that it's also listed in my medical journal.

    Forgot to update this.

I talked to the nurse and apperently I didn't get any opiates. What I got was a drug that mimics opiates in some ways, which she thought might have triggered my reaction. Although, it's being run by a doctor now.

According to her my "symptoms" shouldn't be all that bad and they should disappear as soon as the drug leaves my body.
