  1. Does anyone have a Radeon RX 6400 and use MS Teams? I’m reading there are caveats with the RX6400 not fully supporting video encode/decode. I want a GPU for Teams because my CPU keeps spiking to 30-40% when I’m on Teams calls. If you have an RX 6400 would you mind taking a look at your task manager during a teams video call and check what CPU vs GPU usage is like?
  2. Has anyone tried using a Ryzen APU with ECC RAM? Presumably a Ryzen Pro 2400G exists, and it does ECC but it's not available as a retail item anywhere. I keep reading that it's not "officially supported" but that it "might work" since AMD doesn't actually disallow ECC with anything, they just don't officially support it since they didn't test it.

  7. get the best single card solution that fits your budget, some games run the same or worse with SLI, no games run worse on a faster card
  8. Well, it didn't fall off a truck but it *is* redundant for me right now and looking to build a secondary machine for gaming. I have a primary that's beefier but bigger and louder and way hotter. This is checking multiple boxes for me, tiny mini-itx machine, all AMD build, 1440p capable. Based on the charts @epsilon84 referenced above, I think I'm actually OK with the trade off. I could always upgrade later to ryzen gen 2 (rather than ryzen+) if it bothers me a lot. Division is my benchmark right now, it's the only game I really play regularly, and I think Battlefield 1 compares well as far as when it came out, so I'm thinking/hoping it'll be fine.
  9. While I appreciate the feedback, I'm not looking to get an intel CPU, I already have a system with an intel CPU, I want this to be an all AMD build for absolutely no logical reason than I just want it to be that way.
  10. @FloRolf I'm confused by what you're saying, 4k is fine but for lower go for higher cpu and overclock it? Your 2400G + 1080 is kind of close to what I'm going for, how does that system scale for 1440p gaming? @Santo22 why that board in particular? How does gigabyte GA-AB350N compare? Something about $50 USD difference.
  11. I have a Vega 64 that I want to pair with a Ryzen but I don't want to spend too much. Ryzen 2200G seems like it should give good enough performance for a Vega 64 but the only things I can find on google are general comments about "why would you pair a low end CPU with a high end GPU?", no real data. Does anyone have any relevant information on how good or bad of an idea this would be? Looking to do 1440p 21:9 gaming. Wanting an all AMD build for no logical reason so no intel... goal is a mini-itx build (have a dan-case a4 v3 on order) for 1440p gaming. My hesitation with 2600 is it's 2x cost of 2200g, and unless I focus on keeping cost down it becomes a slippery slope real quick. If 2200G will give me playable frame rates on Tom Clancy Division, that's probably good enough for me. If not, then 1600 sounds like the next best thing.
  12. That makes a lot of sense if true... unfortunately the last slot isn't really usable since my case only has 7 slots, so only single height card usable with the last slot. I've been eyeing the galax katana for that slot, but I may just abandon the SLI idea altogether and just use one card for gaming. But I already spent money on the HB bridge, pity to not use it

Umm, rather than having others throw around random guesses at you, can't you run a resource monitoring app while you're playing a game, and see what gets pegged to 100% more often, the CPU or GPU, and upgrade the thing that's "holding you back"? I think afterburner lets you log to a file: If you're completely set up upgrading the CPU, core i5 7600 seems like the logical choice given your motherboard can't overclock
