  1. For some reason I thought your PSU was modular. My bad. Trying to find a pic online of how the cords are set up. Edit. If you havent already try giving each card its own cord and try the molex to 6 pin again but a molex from different rails.
  2. wow so the AMP uses 2 6 pins? I see the evga just uses 1. for these cards I would try to have them both plugged into the 68A 12v Rail and then get the extra power for the amp from one of the 28 or 30.
  3. 2 drivers? since they are both gtx 660Tis shouldn't they share the same driver? Try switching them around too see if it makes a difference. if one was in the first slot put that one in the second and vice versa. Also make sure the PSU has enough power on the rail to power the card you are plugging it into. what PSU do you have? Edit: Guy above me got to it before me! lol. Guess thats what happens when you dont refresh a page.
  4. 560 Ti is not the same as a 560 Ti 448 core. Its a 570 with reduced cores. The 560 TI 448 core Should actually be closer to 570 performance. Kind of like the 650 Ti Boost is just a 660 with less cores. Edit: Oh someone already mentioned it. Guess I read over the comments too fast >,<
  5. I was curious So I Started looking for some Slim single slot Gpus for you. There a few gts 450s out there with a slim profile and theres also a 550 Ti thats slim but I can only find it sold in japan. http://www.amazon.co.jp/ELSA-%E3%82%B0%E3%83%A9%E3%83%95%E3%82%A3%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%83%9C%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89-GLADIAC-GTX-GD550-1GERSP/dp/B006EENA30 Gladiac 550 Ti sp
  6. If the 1440p Monitor is the Same size as the 1080 then it should look the same blown up. Thats Subjective.
  7. The 1,398.99 one has a 750m which is much better than a 640m but thats still a bit above your budget
  8. Depends on the game and what setting. Newer games will need setting turned down at 1440p especially if you turn on AA to max. Crysis 3 gets around 30 FPS maximum settings with Full MSAA @1440p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gB9-eIPLzM Theres a video Linus made of a GTX 780 benchmarked playing games @1440p Edit: side note. I think the only way to play newer games at Max settings @1440p + is SLI.
  9. Dell has a Nice all in one although a bit expensive. http://www.dell.com/uk/p/xps-27-2720-aio/pd They have a few models but the higher end ones have a 750m which should give pretty good 3D performance for games and such. 1,800 euro is alot though for the top one.
  10. Doesnt seem to have a dedicated GPU so it wouldnt be good at games or other graphic intense stuff. Its hard to find a good all in one honestly.
  11. I know he has a 750 watt. I was just saying it was enough. I didnt notice he had a 660 already though. I read his post as looking for multiple 660s. My fault. Just saw his sig. Yes a second 660 is your best bet for cheapest performance gains. It should beat a 770 by a little bit and almost all modern AAA games support SLI. Edit: Personally I would do it since its an easy cheap upgrade and SLI looks sexy.
  12. got my 650 Ti Boost for 120$ ish on sale (actually 2 for SLI). They are Basically gtx 660s with less Cuda cores. You can also Older used mid - high end gpus on ebay for a good price.
  13. I think card power doesnt matter as long as it can run the game/program (not sure about that). I think its the Bus width and bandwidth that determains how much vram is used and how fast. As for resolution, higher resolutions do use more vram but so do textures. If you play a super high texture game then you use alot of vram, even at 1080p, you will run out.
  14. 750 watt is enough for 2x 660s. I would go for a single 770 unless u can get the 2 660s at a really good price. If the 2 660s are cheaper than a 770 then do it but if not then 770 is the smarter buy. Less heat + power consumption.
  15. you an always get a nice gaming laptop and connect it to a Monitor + mouse and keyboard. For storage you can always get externals and some gaming laptops have dual 2.5" Drive bays. Something like the Aorus x7 Laptop. Idk if its out in the states yet but http://www.aorus.com/x7.aspx
  16. if you're worried about temps, you can always try putting new thermal compound on the gpu. Should lower it a few degrees.
  17. I think I read somewhere that it is 1150 but you have to buy a new motherboard to use Broadwell. But the new mobos will support Haswell.
  18. Should Perform at around 770 levels. Maybe a bit better. The major problems with SLI are Heat output and Power usage. If you have good cooling in your system and the PSU for it, then upgrading to a second 660 is the cheapest way to boost performance. Just remember the pros and cons. Also dont let Micro stutter rumors fool you. Nvidia did a good job preventing it on newer cards. Also Most new games will support SLI. Atleast all the AAA titles. I find that the games that dont, dont need the extra power anyways. Just remember after SLI theres hardly room to upgrade after that but if you get a stronger single card u can always SLI the faster card later when needed. But then I guess u would be in this situation all over again
  19. Well for now a single 780 Ti is probably overkill for a 1440x900 res but if you plan on playing at 4k resolution in the future then your gonna need some serous graphic horse power + Vram. I dont know anyone who games at such a high res because of prices of both tv's/monitors at that high of a res + the power required to push them lol.
  20. So wait. Are you currently using a 780 Ti or a 570? Also your T.V has a max res of 1080 but you run it at 1440x900? Upgrading really depends on what your goal is. if you can get over 60 fps on any game u play at max settings then you dont need to upgrade imho. especially with a 60Hz monitor.
  21. If your system doesn't have enough power for your gpu under full load it can freeze and crash the pc too. It would suck ars if you corrupted windows or messed up files somehow because of this. you Also risk failure to boot or shortages which can kill components.
  22. Graphic cards are louder when the fans spin faster (some more than others) and they spin faster because they are reaching a certain temperature thresh hold. The hotter a gpu is the faster fans are gonna want to spin to get the heat out.
  23. I actually bought kits that let me take out the dvd Drive and put it in an external usb enclosure and put a second Hdd where the dvd was with a little mounting tray in my MBP. cost me less than 30$ on amazon for the kits. A 120GB ssd + a second HDD is a cool idea but if you still just want a single HDD u can get a Hybrid HDD so it can speed things up a little. Also remember your model of Mac doesnt support windows 8 so your gonna need 7 or older (although there is unofficial work arounds). As for Ram you should be able to use any brand as long as they are within required specs. I put these in mine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231294 when they where on sale. they work good but for some reason read as 1333mhz in both osx and windows. Im not sure why but I havent had any problems with them. Edit: Woops! Thought u had a 2011 13" Macbook Pro. Im not sure if the Macbook 13" can have a second hdd. Well eather way a hybrid hard drive is a good idea!
  24. Would be nice if they had a feature to make game streams not require the main pc to have the game on screen. Like for example someone can use the main pc to browse the web or do other stuff while someone in the other room plays the streamed game running in the background of the main pc. That would be so awesome.
