  1. Okay, I will have a look into this. I'll probably grab a replacement anyway because cheap, so no harm done. Thanks for your advice!
  2. Yeah, it's a little crazy. It's an ASUS Z490 MAXIMUS XII HERO (running a 10900K), only 2 and a half years old. 10900K 64GB Dominator Platinum Motherboard above RTX 3080 Few NVMe drives Everything at stock, no OC's. No recent hardware changes.
  3. Hi folks, Once again I am in need of some help after having exhausted what I feel like are all the options I can think of within my technical knowledge. The past week or so I have been getting two issues. One is a random BSOD which can happen at any time, either watching Netflix, in game, downloading, etc. which is a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, failing module tcpip.sys. The other is where my displays will go black and some colours will invert only for a moment and audio freezes/loops, before my PC restarts itself without any BSOD, errors, warnings etc. Having researched what tcpip.sys is exactly, I have done the following so far; - Updated all GPU drivers - Updated all LAN ethernet (both Marvell and Intel on motherboard) drivers - Updated BIOS - Updated Intel Chipset drivers - Reset TCP / IP netsh command via CMD/admin - Restarted modem and router overnight Using NirSoft BlueScreenView I have checked the 5 DMP files available (Image attached) and noticed that the only other failing module, alongside sometimes tcpip.sys is ntoskml.exe. I have googled a little and this seems to be memory related, though my memory modules are working just fine and do not produce any errors in tests or diagnostics. This is now a daily, sometimes twice or three times daily occurence and I am becoming desperate for some help. Reformatting is a last resort option, one I would very much rather try to avoid. Thanks in advance for any help provided.
  4. Hi, thanks for responding. I've just gone ahead and changed this to disabled now however no success. Both CPU-Z and HWMonitor are showing my CPU sat at 4799/4802MHz on all cores. Voltage is jumping around between 1.205 & 1.240.
  5. Hi all, I'm a little stumped on something which I'm now asking for assistance for, as I cannot figure it out despite google searching, watching videos, etc. BIOS settings are as follows: Multicore Enhancement: Auto Ratio: Sync All Cores, set to 48 (for 4.8GHz) CPU VCore: 1.250 (This is stable for me) I have checked Intel Speedstep which is enabled in the BIOS, I have also tried the balanced windows power plan, as well as changing the minimum processor power state to 10% in the high performance plan, to no succes. Currently at the time of writing I'm idle at desktop, with only Firefox open and 4% CPU usage and CPU-Z is showing my CPU running at 4800MHz on all cores and VCore at 1.249, none are stepping down whatsoever whilst idling. I also tried using Ratio at AUTO instead of a manual setting, which also lead to no success. This includes resetting all CPU settings in the BIOS to stock, which also didn't work. Any advice or help is appreciated, thanks.
  6. Have you enabled the XMP profile in the BIOS for the memory or left it off at default? I did this where I put the profile on before installing windows and it caused the same issues until I switched it off. Also if you can I would advise updating your BIOS to latest version by downloading it onto a USB from another pc first before trying to install (can improve system stability and hardware support).
  7. Thanks for offering this advice. I looked into it more last night after replying and it turns out my memory was in XMP before I could update the BIOS so was causing major instability. Resolved now, cheers.
  8. I have not. I will try that now. Checked in bios and all 4 sticks are showing correctly. All drives are showing, video is coming out of gpu instead of mobo. I’ve double checked and made sure everything is seated correctly.
  9. Hi all. I am trying to install Windows 10 from a bootable USB I created with Microsoft’s official media creation tool on a brand new (newly built) system but keep getting met with random errors such as: I have created the bootable USB twice now just in case it didn’t create correctly and still the same issue. No disk drive so can’t use a disk. Stuck now and getting frustrated. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
  10. Hi Silverbackk, I too am in the same position as you in regards to waiting for 10th gen and trying to anticipate what cooler to get which will be able to control their heat. In the end I’ve gone for a Corsair H115i Platinum which is a 280mm AIO. I personally feel like having a 360mm on my case (which like you would require front intake mounting) isn’t the best idea as all the heat coming off your radiator will then be blown into the case and as such warm up the ambient temp inside your case, causing everything else to run warmer. By how much, I don’t know, but that’s my opinion on it. I’m aware there may be better performing AIO’s than this one too, but I’m a dirty Corsair fan boy and also wanted the aesthetic (and rgb) to match the rest of my build. As for motherboard I wouldn’t know what to recommend I’m afraid. I have one in mind which I’m looking at for me personally but I feel others with more knowledge could make a better recommendation for that one. Hope this helps at all
  11. Oh I see. So at stock - say a 10900K - could only support up to 2933 and then beyond that the CPU's memory controller would be overclocked by the motherboard?
  12. Hi all, Apologies in advance if this topic has already been brought up somewhere. I have looked but don't seem to be able to find anything relevant to what I want to bring up here. No doubt by now that majority of us who care will have seen the infamous screenshot from Intel's launch of the 10th gen CPU's. On that chart it shows that the LGA 1200 socket (and the 10th gen CPU's) will have a memory support of "up to DDR4-2933". Now forgive me if I'm being stupid here, but does this literally mean that the fastest memory DIMM's we can buy to use with these CPU's would be just that, 2933MHz? Admittedly I've been scratching my head over this for the last hour or so and it just doesn't make any sense to me at all if it were to be the case, as mobo manufacturer's are already releasing their boards for pre-order with memory support up into the high 4000's. If this isn't the case, which I strongly suspect is going to be the answer, can someone explain this to me? Why Intel says "Up to DDR4-2933"? Thanks.
  13. The only reason I'd look at replacing both the PSU and AIO is because the PSU is now about a decade old and out of warranty, along with the AIO which is about 5 years old and out of warranty too (I think?). Please correct me if i'm wrong. The 9900k is still 14nm, you're right. Thanks for your input guys. I'm getting the expected outcome here which is just going to be to wait and see what the new generation brings.
  14. Hi all, I've spent some time reading around about the upcoming 10th gen Intel CPU's and 3000 series Nvidia GPU's as to whether or not now would be a good time to upgrade or if I should wait. I feel like the most obvious and common answer I get here would be to wait however I digress and remain open to all perspectives and opinions. The core specs of my current system are: - i7 6700K (4.6GHz) - Corsair H115i AIO - ASUS Z170 Deluxe - Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4x8) (2666MHz) - 2 x 500GB SSD's - 1 x 3TB HDD - MSI Ventus RTX 2080 - Corsair HX850W - Corsair Obsidian 750D The primary aim of the upgrade is to futureproof myself so that I won't need to upgrade again for several years at least. That being said, I'd like to move entirely to NVME storage only and i'll be taking the RTX 2080 across with me until the new 3000 series launch from Nvidia later in the year. I did consider looking into the 109--X CPU's however I've seen many people say that this is literally just pouring money down the drain? For the upgrade I'm looking at the following: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor £451.98 @ Aria PC CPU Cooler Corsair H115i RGB PLATINUM 97 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler £139.33 @ Amazon UK Motherboard Asus ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard £257.02 @ Amazon UK Memory Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory £354.99 @ Corsair UK Storage Corsair MP510 1.92 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive £269.99 @ Corsair UK Case Corsair Crystal Series 680X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case £207.24 @ More Computers Power Supply Corsair AX 1000 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply £212.63 @ Ebuyer Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total £1893.18 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-03-19 16:34 GMT+0000 At the moment I'm still unsure as to if the 1000W PSU is going to be a little overkill for the system, then again I'd like to futureproof just in case I ever need more than an 850W in future. I'm also unsure as to if I should change case to the 680X or just continue using the 750D. System is used for all everyday tasks, gaming, heavy simulation, photo and 4K+ video editing (Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Premiere). Budget is a firm max of £2000 but the closer to £1500 the better, however I don't mind varying anywhere between these two figures if it's worth it. Thanks all for reading, I look forward to seeing what you guys suggest.
