  1. Go into the display setting and move the monitor Default might be 1 - 2, you can move it to 2 - 1.
  2. Thanks, I will look for that to use then. It's working, it just keeps shutting down for no reason at different times. Especially when you are in the middle of something important. My old 17" MacBookPro that I got way before the iMac still purring with no problems. The latest OS X I could put on it is El Capitain. It won't let me install Sierra on it.
  3. NVIDIA GeForce GT not sure if it 120 or 130 ATM EDIT: BTW, it's 24-inch model with 2.93GHz processor
  4. Agreed with you on that point. Even Windows Server 2000 would be a better choice.
  5. I would say Ubuntu Server. Especially when you have 2 years experiences using it. A lot less hassle when it comes to upgrading in the future. IMHO.
  6. iMac 24" Early 2009 model I blow out the dust few weeks ago when I replaced the hard drive and memory, but have not replace the thermal compound.
  7. Have you tried going into the user management and disabled the guess user?
  8. Hi everyone, still new to the forum and getting my hands dirty with Linux (again been a long while since I used it). I have a problems that I am trying to solved, so I can bring my iMac 24" back to happy life. In the past 6 months (more or less) my iMac has been shutting down for no reason. In the middle of me trying to browse the web, working on others things and sometimes at start up. I have replaced the hard drive, and memory thinking that those were the problem. But it is still doing it. Not sure what to do to fix the problem at this point. Some guidance would be greatly appriciated in solving this problem. Thanks in advance, LD
  9. What did you use to support the dual boot? Bootcamp? Have you try re-installing Windows and uninstall it the proper way?
  10. Oh that's easy. PC, Ford, Android Happy to help. Mac. Chevy, iPhone (used to be Android, until the battery drain, Bad OS updates from Vendor, etc...) Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Ubuntu (all flavors) and PCLOS (PCLinuxOS) are the best choices I see as far as desktop users IMHO! I also have a question, which distro is good for Media Center/Server (IE:Plex, Emby, etc...) Especially for recording TV Shows and Movies OTA or Cables instead of using the STB.
