  1. Any article I look up on win 11 issues was release around launch, today win 11 is more stable for me than win 11 for my setup. Plus, it has features I can't live without, like win + z for a window snapping wizard and better HDR support.
  2. Some laptops will only run if you have the correct speed and size combination, others just let you do whatever you want. If you have the ability to easily return the ram, get faster ram. If you can't return ram easily, get the matching speed, you won't see a crazy difference.
  3. great to hear, today I also got the news that samsung is going to repair my laptop after 13 months of calling
  4. Do you have a video card? The 5800x has no display out without a separate discrete GPU.
  5. yes, eventually you'll come out on top, but if you say I'm okay with a broken product, you've taught msi that this is the point they can take other consumers to in their disregard for their rights. I myself have been having a pretty bad back and forth with samsung and have even gotten the BBB involve. The principal of knowing that you are right and that they aren't allowed to bully you or anyone else is more than enough reason to continue. If you want to abandon the cause, know that there are others who are willing to take the mantle up for you(obviously in exchange for the GPU)
  6. First 2 games you list would like the newer intel CPU by the fact that it's just newer and faster. The 7900xt would be a huge leap forward in any GPU bound task, more so than the cpu leap from 5800x to 14600k.
  7. Bad opinion maybe, but factually correct when taking account that games are, unless you have a 4090, gpu limited and having a degree or two difference from preapplied to custom applied applications makes zero difference in even CPU bound applications. The only time the thermal paste application should be brought into question is when you’re over heating the part, because only then does it downclock and provide less performance in a desktop based scenario.
  8. All out of stock. And they’re just the screen, not the assembly
  9. With my now years of experience, I've learned one thing, casual people don't care, and if you're not overclocking, you also shouldn't care.
  10. no panel assembly on ebay, aliexpress, or any other online retailer.
  11. If I pour the paste and some chunky powder comes out, yeah not staying on the CPU. But I've been surprised by the shelf life of even the cheap stuff, never hurts to pull out the tube and give it a shot.
  12. I once thought my new PSU was burning up, turns out I had a skunk problem. Try to be thorough on what you diagnose the problem as, as it could be more than what you initially thought.
  13. Depends on the stuff, but as it's just a compound, it should be inert until placed in a situation that causes it to go through a physical/chemical transformation. I.E. heat and pressure from being used between the cpu and heatsink. I've used stuff that's 10 years old and if it looks the same coming out of the tube as it did then, then it's good to be used now.
  14. what video card do you have, this isn't an uncommon issue with the right pairing of GPU and monitor.
  15. In the months since Samsung announced their partnership with ifixit, they have yet to restock the screens for the galaxy book pro 360. on top of that, they don't have parts for newer laptops like the book2 or book3. Back in February my father broke his laptop and I needed to order him a new screen. Checking ifixit they list the screen as not in stock and had a space to put your email to get updates on availability. I have not gotten a single email on the potential of getting a screen replacement. 5 months without a laptop is a long time, but I had faith in ifixit and their promise of helping the enviroment and so I told my father to wait, and that I'd fix his laptop instead of him buying a whole replacement unit. At this point I'm really desperate, I cannot find any replacement screens for the laptop. And all of that has led me to be furious at ifixit. Furious that they would allow samsung to use their platform to lie about having repairable products. I don't know what to do, I want to ping the big man linus and hope he could make a stink of the issue, but I don't want to bother him with something that shouldn't be in his prerogative. If someone has a solution, please fill me in, I want to repair my fathers laptop to keep it out of the landfill and so that he doesn't need to set up a whole new PC again.
  16. my personal rack is about the size of a stacked washer dryer combo
  17. I can just get 2x SATA SSDs or just not have the C drive run in raid 1.
  18. What sucks is they tell you about the M.2 limitation for the M2A port, but fail to specify the limitation with the PCIe slots
  19. So I've narrowed down the issue to it being a CPU limitation that gigabyte doesn't inform you in on the manual. 10900k does 8x+4x+4x 11900k does 8x+4x+4x+4x it's why it works in some slots when there's nothing inserted.
  20. No, it's being seen and I can access it in the bios, it's just in the OS.
  21. Since I have 10900k, the M2A slot is disabled. My windows install is in M2M. One of the SSDs is in M2P. The other SSD is in an adapter card in the bottom most PCIe slot.
  22. Sounds like exactly what would happen when you run multiple tasks at the same time. 2 things to be aware of here; a) program will use all the horsepower you provide it. b) task manager is a terrible indicator of hardware utilization.
  23. only when it's in the middle PCIe slot, but not when it's in the bottom most one, and the GPU is in the top most slot so I can't move it any further than that.
  24. Nope, windows was already on this computer, I installed both of these drives in together at the same time
