  1. I found around 24 cards on newegg that were in stock.
  2. Not a terrible choice. Just depends what board partner's card he gets. If availability is really an issue he could grab a 1060. A little less performance, but more bang-for-buck.
  3. Really? Reviews on newegg suggest pretty good sound quality...
  4. I'm pretty sure there is backwards/forwards compatibility between 3.0 and 2.1, so no problems there.
  5. Corsair VOID got good reviews, check that out. Somewhere around 100 USD I believe. RGB is nice too.
  6. I think Cnet has a downloadable trial version that's free. Don't quote me on that though.
  7. I'm hesitant to give any pirated downloads or anything (Community Standards), but have a look around cnet or gog for ones that you can pay for.
  8. I believe the prices are set by the Dev or Publisher. And since it is picked by Dev/Publisher, they don't get a standard cut, they get a cut of the discounted price.
  9. The wraith spire rgb got me like:
  10. Whoa, 3.8GHz on the stock cooler? What black magic is this?! Those coolers should be fine, I've seen more aggressive OCs on the 1700X with the noctua so no issues there. Also check out the Cooler Master Hyper 212X or 212 Evo as they are also good "bang-for-buck" coolers.
  11. Can you tell me what your thermals are currently? Also don't forget to quote me when responding to my messages or I don't get notified.
  12. Might be a bit crazy, but consider getting one shipped by PC Case Gear in melbourne. Their shipping costs are abhorrent for a large amount of parts, but one GPU shouldn't set you back too much. The EXOC Sniper White 1080 is only $633 USD at the moment...
  13. Not too sure how a PSU can drastically affect your PSU thermals... Just grab a Full Modular one from a reputable brand (corsair, seasonic, evga).
  14. What?! Here in australia they're often the cheapest you can get... http://msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf
  15. He could wait for the 580s to go down in price and pick up a 2 or 3 way SLI build with them. Or do the same with Vega.
  16. What's his budget? Also, what games will he be playing on it?
  17. That's possible, you just don't have good mining efficiency. But yeah, it's possible.
  18. You're not going to get good mining in a gaming build. Good mining means racks of GPUs in a dedicated system. I can draft you a build for gaming if you have a budget.
  19. Err. He's talking about GPUs, not PSUs.
  20. Glad I could help, enjoy Matlab
  21. 1070 or 1080, whatever is better for your needs. Or take a squiz at Vega 56 or 64.
  22. Both the 1050Ti and the 1060 are better than the M620, so just pick whichever one is better for your needs. As Doc said, it could depend on what you want to play on it.
  23. Don't know if this is exactly what you mean, but this: https://www.mathworks.com/support/sysreq.html Says you don't need any specific GPU, just minimum 1GB memory.
