  1. I'd strongly suggest getting a 980 Ti in the budget as it can fit and even more strongly suggest WAITING FOR the 300 series by AMD in two days. Anyways, for $20 more You could fit a GTX 980 Ti inside a very very comparable rig. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4Lh9ZL Even has a perfectly(of 5 reviews) 5 egg IPS display by Viewsonic that's actually cheaper. I think I beat all the builds above me
  2. Here: Deal with It yes, it's a bad, expensive, overbudget build BUT... dat 980 Ti... and I read your profile picture
  3. Get a 390X because it is a 290X. Make sense? It shouldn't be that way... This new AMD Fury had better be something or it will be AMD's "Last Gen" and $500 mid-range GPUs will come. Anyways, my suggestion is to wait two days for the 300 series and then decide.
  4. I chose the Cryorig because it is better than the Hyper 212 EVO, can cool the extreme series chips and if fairly quiet. I doubt that it is quieter than water cooling but that is also dependent on the fans chosen. It supports better fans. That, and I have one and it suits my i7 4790K well I'd rather get the NH-D15 and it was mostly placed because I was seeing the max amount of overkill inside that budget. Yes, the Titan X is not a good value, I just wanted to try to fit it in, go for the 980 Ti instead. Ah yes, thin bezels are a must for really good multi-monitor gaming. I had forgotten about gaming (though I for some reason like my large bezels when trying 5760x1080.) I have a concern though, in other posts you mentioned 1440p surround. If that is your goal, I feel that you might need more than a single 980 Ti.
  5. "Why not both?" If you can, get the Xeon E3 1231 V3. Otherwise, go for the AMD and get that powerful GPU with it.
  6. Usually get the cheapest kit or go for something that matches. Otherwise just plug it in, check that it runs at it's posted speeds and be happy. In short. No, unless you use an APU.
  7. Anandtech has a very good comparison thing called Anandtech Bench It has GPU 2015, 2014, etc (not very far in past) along with SSD, CPU, and devices like laptops or tablet benchmarks. You can only compare two at a time though.
  8. I think that the people on the extreme are the loudest, and scream PC MASTER RACE CONSOLE PEASANT RACE or CONSOLES HAVE EXCLUSIVES YOU PCTURDS CONSOLE MASTER RACE! Those aren't very good examples but I hope you get what I mean.
  9. WD I would say is much better and has yet to fail me. though, my father having an experience in IT over the years found that both die but WD later. I use a green as my sole drive currently and it is fast enough.
  10. I would recommend Western Digital over Seagate as my 1TB Barracuda from them died after 3 years. However, Everyone's circumstances are different and both brands can make good Hard drives. Based on experiences and my father's experiences from his IT career I would say that Western digital is the better brand.
  11. That monitor you chose will help a lot thanks to it's high contrast and beautiful IPS screen. It is not ideal for gaming however, due to ghosting and monitor motion blur. (found in reviews) I'm not far into monitors though so I can't help you much for great colors which will be very important to you. If you are worried about bezels though, don't be. I have found with my triple setup I maximize to each screen anyways and rarely try to have a window in between. (though I do have huge bezels thanks to desk setup) I do not know much about graphic design. Assuming it needs a good CPU i'd recommend a build similar to this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XsMbQ7 Please note that I just went crazy with it for maximum budget and more of wanted to see if I could fit that i7 inside a build and indeed I did + a Titan X.(really, a 980 Ti would be better)
  12. Pros: Super wide (an unscientific feeling) makes pixels less noticeable lots of productivity when wanted. See more things, get a FOV of 170+ If done right, no stretching Cons: Difficult to setup (Widescreen gaming forum sometimes helps) Get ready to .ini tweak Difficult to drive (Gotta get that power!) ideal for one person to look at Find yourself staring at one screen sometimes I'd still recommend it. I personally love the idea of a 5 way portrait monitors but, that brings it's own issues. As for monitors, to fit in the $500 range you will need to use 1080p 60Hz panels. I'd love to go to 144hz on it but, that's not possible in the budget. Acer G257HL Look up specs in the PCpartpicker, it does support VESA and i'd recommend an arm setup as it cannot adjust height. Also: I like thekeemo's recommendation too and you could get that arm into the budget easily.
  13. I'd recommend, if you have time, to use triple 1080p. 4K will work much faster and without tweaks like programs to fix menus for Mass Effect and Skyrim. If you are happy with it being 25", @ $160 + Shipping from Micro center then look no further than the Acer 60hz IPS monitor. About 4K: It's demanding and I have found it to not be worthwhile. (Yes, I have tried it) It's wonderful "trying to see the pixels" but you can and scaling; a problem which will fix itself soon though. I wouldn't give up 144hz for anything personally triple 1080p is often difficult to setup but useful if you love to go sightseeing on games and other things. I love my setup but that 144hz still stands and I don't have 3 144 hz monitors yet...
  15. It didn't appear to have VESA since i couldn't install in on my VESA monitor stand. Perhaps I am wrong and that stand was bad though. I'm not going to unscrew mine again but if it does have VESA I'd also recommend it.
  16. I decided that 144hz monitors would fit that 980 Ti as it excels in 4K and should be able to push that many pixels fast. Acer GN246HL It's a 1080p 144hz monitor with good colors and high brightness. The bezels don't look too offensive either. It also, unlike the ASUS VG248QE has VESA which will be very very useful for your triple arm setup. Also, if you are concerned about color shift do not be. There is no shift within my own setup Unless you put your head under the monitors, or almost at the side of the outer monitors.
  17. Upgrade that CPU first. It's very important to have a solid base for upgrades. The 660 is fast enough and will not limit you at all in 1080p Not sure about Thermaltake though... may or may not be a good brand.
  18. HWmonitor is a good one, it's also what many youtubers use including Tiny Town Logan, and Linus.
  19. One may want to know that you could get a i5 4690K or even a Xeon E3 1231 V3 if the SSD is dropped. Those would be a better choice personally including a Full ATX motherboard for a few extra slots seeing as we are using more of them nowadays(or will soon) Also, AMD is brining their new GPUs around the 16th. If you can bear to wait that long, it'd be wise to.
  20. Go for EVGA because it is known as to have THE best customer support right now. Currently, I'd suggest waiting for a non-reference GPU though. (unless you want it, then go for it)
  21. The H110 by Corsair is at $102 presently, while being $6 more expensive, it is definitely recommended by more people and is a 280mm rad as opposed to the Raijintek 240mm.
  22. I must have been looking here where it did not: Sorry about that.
