  1. Sure, go for it then. But the differences are probably pretty small, and for almost half the money you could buy a new TV in half the time and get even better image quality (and bigger screen) than the LG.
  2. The Sony KD-65A1 is pretty freaking amazing as well. It should be somewhere around 5000€.
  3. I was a hardcore MPC-user until a couple of years ago when I switched to XBMC (=Kodi today). Has anybody compared Kodi to VLC and MPC in regards to video quality? The main reason why I switched to Kodi was the support for viewing rar archive, but if the video quality differs a lot I wouldn't mind using another player when I'm watching a movie that's worth the better quality.
  4. As already stated, you need some sort of splitter/switch. Most people go with the AVR-solution, that is buying a home theatre receiver which handles audio and the HDMI switching that you want. On the plus-side you can connect a couple of speakers to it and not have to listen to the microspeakers in your TV. With a reciver you just connect all your peripherals by HDMI, and then run one single HDMI to your TV. If you've got HDMI ARC (Audio return channel) in your TV, audio will also travel downstream from your TV to the receiver. This is nice if your for example use your TV's built in Netflix App or something similar.
