Nope. I just need to know if like it would recognize it as a device or just ignore it. In theory it should, but idk if Apple has deliberately done something in the software to prevent it

I haven't purchased the usb adapter yet. I just need to know that if i plug in a 3.5 mm mic into it if it would recognize it as a device

But would it recognize it as a microphone? I'm trying to record my guitar into my mac and thats all I need

Ok so i recently got a MacBook Air and the mic/ headphone combo jack for some reason can't record an external mic. Well, it's a quarter inch cable running through an adapter that can plug into the computer. So I was looking at a Sabrent USB External Stereo Sound Adapter. Would that solve my problem? Or would the Mac still not recognize it as a microphone?
