Vipermk2 replied to DonCarlos's topic in General Discussion
Ok here's a surprise, the mousepad has arrived today and I have not been charged any extra, Bonus So I paid $49.18 or £37.45 and that's it, no extra to pay. -

Just bought a LTT Hoodie amd got stung with the additional customs tax of £15 to get it into the UK. (This should be mentioned when buying the product). My biggest gripe is the piss poor quality of the material used for the hoodie, it was like unwrapping a fully active van der graaf generator. I was really dissapointed with the quality of the cloth, lightweight and what you would expect to buy at Primark. eg wear once and throw away. I really expected more from LTT. Linus you like quality so give it to us.

This film is STUNNING, it just blew me away. The cinematography is literally awesome (used correctly, not like awesome when describing a hotdog) I spent days just thinking about it and the impact it made on me. Joi made a big impact on me and Luv was a perfectly scary villain. The acting was great all round but I thought Jared leto's character could have been used a bit more or made to be more menacing. A very worthy sequel and that is saying a lot seeing as the original Blade Runner is my favourite film of all time.

Just wondering if I might run into problems using two of the Kryom. 2 PCIe 3.0 x Adapter M.2 NGFF PCIe SSD to keep my 2x M.2 drives cool. I have a Rampage edition 10, CPU is a 5930x which does have 40 Lanes, my boot drive (960Pro) is mounted on the boards dedicated M.2 slot behind the graphics card which idles at 54°C but jumps to to 73°C and throttles when transfering large files between both m.2 drives. The other one (950 Pro) is located in the bottom PCIe slot (via Adapter) idles at 39°C but does go up to 70 and throttles. I'm thinking of moving the 960 Pro into a PCIe slot and sticking the above Passive heat sink on both. My Grahics card is parked in slot 2, purely for aesthetics and I guess I believe the CPU will be cooled better with it being further away. Are there any particular considerations I need to think about before I do it so nothing else is compromised? I can get them to run cooler and not throttle if I run my case fans at full bollox, but I dont want to have to whack the fans up just to transfer some files.

Tomb Raider 2 is being remade by a group of fans and it's impressive. Actually it's fantastic, there's no hand holding, no Survival Instinct, no white paint showing you where to climb. You have to use your eyes and explore, try, try, try oh and die, alot. You can download the demo from Here where you can play the first part of The Great Wall level. This project is being headed by a developer called Nicobass, who is creating this project as a non-profit with the blessing of Crystal Dynamics. Below is the PC system requirement for this demo, which was listed by the project's creator, recommending 8GB of RAM and a DirectX 11 GPU. Minimum specs: - Windows 7 x64 - Graphic card with DX11 - 4GB RAM (8GB strongly recommended) - 6GB free disk space (1.8 GB for the downloaded file and 4 GB for the uncompressed folder) - Any software able to open a .rar file (like Winrar) The demo version of Tomb Raider The Dagger Of Xian is available to download on the official website here It looks awesome in 4k on the Highest settings

Does it matter what PCIex16 slot my GPU is in?
Vipermk2 replied to Vipermk2's topic in Graphics Cards
I came on here to save me doing the actual tests but I've just run some benchmarks on the 1st Slot (PCIe x16x8) and the 2nd Slot (PCIe x8) and both Fire Strike Ultra and Rise of The Tomb Raider show exactly the same results, well as close as they can be. The Strange thing is, although the MB manual says that the 2nd slot is a PCIe x8. GPU-Z identifies it as a PCIe x 16. Actually both slots are indentified as exactly the same. -
I have a rampage Edition 10 with a Noctua D14 cooler which interferes slightly with the Graphics card. Aesthetically I would prefere the graphics card being in a lower slot. Would I be right in assuming that I can put the card in any PCIe x16x8 slot, namely slot 3 in the image below? Baring in mind that running a M.2 drive in slot 4 and that I'm on a 40 lane CPU.
