    In my experience, most monitors have really long lifespans. I only just replaced the 1680x1050 Acer monitor I used as a secondary a couple weeks ago, and it's over a decade old and still works perfectly. I would highly recommend checking out your local used market. More often than not, I've found some great monitor deals this way.

    I've always thought of Razer's systems, especially the more recent Blade Stealths, as excellent machines with really good, durable construction. Right up there with the XPS 13 on my personal "Best Ultrabooks Ever" list.

    Ensure that all the devices installed in the system are compatible with Windows 10, then upgrade, if you so desire. Windows 7 is still fine for the vast majority of day-to-day tasks, but some games and software may only work on Win10. (DirectX 12 games, some Microsoft software, etc)

    This. Upscaling and sharpening JPEGs will degrade the quality of your image, regardless of the software you use. Inkscape is a free vector editing program that's fairly simple to use. I personally prefer Adobe Illustrator, so if you have access to that program, (definitely not free, lol) use that instead.

    Buy Wacom tablets, bar none. Their tablets are of the highest quality I've come across, and I've had to use quite a variety during my career. Ideally, a Cintiq would be great, but if that's out of your price range, go for an Intuos Pro.

    Spammers are known to use Tor to grief online communities anonymously. Declining access to all Tor users is just a security measure.
