  1. I'd like to say, on behalfe of the D3300, that it is a great beginner camera. Shoot some of my favourite photographs with it! But buy a new/used old lense within the first year. The kit lens isn't the best.
  2. Upgrade your lens, not your Body. The D3400 has an amazing sensor, and there is really no need to switch bodies. You should rather invest in good glass. There are amazing used old Nikon lenses out haere! And that for relatively cheap. I know DxOMark scores aren't the best way to measure a camera but they are the same. Buy a new lens/lenses, not a new Body. A new lense will get you much more than a new Body!
  3. Everyday? Well everyday the Nikon D810 with the Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art lens. But since a few days (and when I feel fancy) also the Nikon F3 with the NIKKOR 85mm f1.8D.
  4. Photography is pretty subjective and everybody has a different taste, so that’s ok for me:) i quit like your photograph! Lovely editing and perfectly sharp. The only thing that I don’t quit like, and I’m nippicking here, is the fact that the head/hair is cut off. I don’t personally like that on people. But overall great picture!
  5. Alright Boys (and Girls), so i'm currently in Auckland! And insted of buying myself a much Need travel tripod i decided to buy myself a used Nikkor 85mm f1.8D. Gosh thats a sharp lens (exept when i upload them here)! Mounted it and went instantly sgooting some street photographs. Yes Ryan, my black Point is faded out. I know that and I like it. But thanks in advance
  6. First of all the sad news. Didn't got the D850 (my Nikon dealer probably wouldn't get it in time for my flight), went with the D810 instead. Already love it. Now to the Topic - I went with a cloud solution. Or to be more specific, my dad got me a few terabyte on their office server (Which is connected to the german university internet network, which means gigabite connection *Yeah, I guess?*). So yeah, thanks for all your help!
  7. I'll be living out of a van. My only Internet will be free Wifi in hotels and Starbucks. Well, as mentioned befor, no office etc. And only limited space in my backbag.
  8. Yeah, seems like setting up an own cloud would be the best idea. Thanks for all your input!
  9. That would be an option. I'll look into that! I'll live out of a bagback for a year. So my space is pretty limited. I also own quite a lot of hard drives (I don't like to lose or delete files). And the problem with hard drives is that they break easy. Because they would be in my bagpack, which is on me almost all the time. And if I fall down they'll probably break.
  10. I own a Lenovo Yoga 910. And even if I would upgrade it would still be a risk. I really need some offsite backup.
  11. So, on January 8th I'll be sitting on a plane to New Zealand. There I'll roughly stay for a year (Work and Travel). My Laptop only has 1TB storage and my soon to be D850 isn't known to make small RAW files. And to only rely on external hard drives would be a misstake I made a few times to often. So what cloud storage solution would you recommend to backup for photography files (RAW; edited and exported photographs; Photoshop files)?
  12. Quite frankly I know that. And there a two reasons for that. The first one beeing that I quite like the faded look (as mentioned I'm still trying to find my own style). But the more importent reason is that I edit all my photographs for paper and not for screen. And my printer dosen't like too much black. But I do understand your point. Having a good black and white point is important.
  13. I love street photography and photohournalism. I love the scene and the composition. If you had waited for like another few minutes you might even have had a cleaner background. But I also think that you need to step up your editing game. Check out people like Alan Schaller or Shane Taylor, they might help you to find your own style. I'd give your photograph an 8/10 (mostly for composition and because I love street photography). I'm currently trying to find my own style as well. I went on a little photowalk (by myself) last tuesday and took this photograph in Stuttgart (Germany). I had luck getting the sun out, it was mostly cloudy that say, so shadows were rare.
  14. Can you give me a ride? - The Background dosn't really fit. I would have gone outside and used some old rugged tarmac. But I like the idea, 5/10 for me. I also took some photographs of my ride yesterday. I tried out the D500 and the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 of a friend of mine.
  15. @cc143 - I'm going with the ProTactic 450W.
