  2. well ive done that and im not imagining things. 60 fps down to 10 since this whole issue started
  3. i plugged that one in and my games just run stupidly slow. just to confirm i plug the six pin and 2 pin together on the gpu and the 8 pin on psu
  4. could you link me a picture of the pcie cable i need
  5. i used another molex adapter, plugging both molex's in. it doesnt melt now it just crashes
  6. I was gaming. Smelt burning. Looked down. Molex connector is melting. Its on an 8 pin to (double) molex adapter on the graphics card to PSU Only one of the molex was plugged in It's melted Corsair CX450M Asus GTX 970 One guy had this problem but he had a crappy psu and i feel like this isn't my issue. Another guy said on that post that connecting both molex's would share the power load and prevent overheating Please help lads and ladies
  7. Firstly I don't know which piece of hardware or software is causing this problem so I'm giving the full story so hopefully somebody can tell me what's going on. A while back I upgraded my PC. I put in a new processor i5 2500k, motherboard ASUS B75M-A and PSU ACE 750 W. Randomly when gaming my PC would reboot and say that ASUS Anti Surge had been triggered. This persisted for a while and I did some research to find that Anti Surge has been widely regarded as a faulty feature that was useless and so turned it off. This fixed the issue for a while and I played my games normally for a few weeks without issues. I began to get new crashes where the screen would turn a random colour and I would have to hard reset the PC. These crashes became more frequent and fixes that worked temporarily no longer do work. I have tried: Lowering clocks on GPU Increasing fan speed on GPU Updating GPU drivers Increasing GPU voltage Restoring default BIOS I think it is a hardware problem but I'm not sure which part though I assume it is one of the new components Specs: ASUS B75M-A Intel i5 2500K GTX 970 ACE 750W
  8. That's just what another guy said, he said it would pull max 380 from the wall (my system)
  9. Ok, someone recommended a CX450M; Is that any good?
  10. Hmm, I assume so, so I'm getting a new one anyway. But it seems strange that it happens almost as soon as i play a mulitplayer game
  11. I'm having a problem where my computer crashes to a random solid colour for a second or 2 and then resets. This problem happens when gaming. I have the issue with some games but not all. The problem has occurred increasingly often over the past few weeks. CPU - Intel 2500k GPU - GTX 970 PSU - 750W ACE power supply MB - ASUS b75m I haven't overclocked, Update: I have a suspicion that the crashes are caused by online gaming as i can play Overwatch and Rocket League offline easily but it crashes in multiplayer. I'm going to further investigate by using a new internet connection etc.
  12. Okay, well i havent got the cash at the moment but if the PSU is the problem then i'll buy the CX450M
  13. I think that is too low wattage, but cheers pal
  14. Those are a little high for my price range, however they are worth consideration. The calculator gave this recommendation https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00MV5YA08/?tag=cmcalc-uk-21&th=1 This is from Cooler Master (who are decent i think) and is a higher wattage and lower price (since it is on pretty good offer,) In addition to this the 700W version is on offer for the same price, also on sale. Meaning i get £75 PSUs for £50 Could you give me your opinion on those please?
