I would get it for $35 just to have the option. But of course you need a balanced Amp to get the benefit. I would advise against the Jot. I would take the Audio-GD NFB-1 over it for around the same price. Then just get a DAC like a Modi 2U or OL DAC until you can afford something more. The NFB-1 is just the NFB28 without the built in DAC.

I have an AUDIO GD 28.38. It is significantly better than any amp I have used. To be fair I have never heard another amp anywhere near the same price point. I was surprised by the difference it made compared to a Magni 3. Just my 2cents

Buying expensive stuff you dont really know a lot about is very stressful. is what im getting from this thread
I saw you were talking about mod mics. Ive got the mod mic 5 and im very happy with it. But the stock extension cables that came with it are crap. They attract so much noise its like they are antennas. So i bought some new ones and no noise at all.
The stock cables are super thin, the ones i got were thick. idk if that has anything to do with it, but its the only visible difference.
Edit: id also like to just add that openback is in my opinion a LOT better than closed back if you are playing often with friends in real life or game with your gf or people in general that are in the same room as you. Being able to hear them while wearing the headphones is something i really like.

Element is way overpriced. You are only paying for the form factor. The NFB R2R destroys it.

It is a cheap blue snowball. like 50$. It is not the greatest mic, I will get a better one in a few months. I also got a 13$ boom arm from amazon.

I went with a desk mic when I got my T50s. But I also have the desk space for one. Plus it makes singing like a moron more fun lol. I have never used the V-moda or the mod mic, but I can't imagine the V-moda being very practical with the T50. Best bet for an attached mic would probably be the mod mic. To my knowledge the mod mic will just plug into your mic input on your motherboard. Then stick to your headphone. I could be wrong, though.

Yea i will get them at the same time, but since the lead time on the T50's is about 5 weeks i will probably buy the amp within 3 weeks or so. I will still have some time to think

Sweet. Be sure not to judge them until you use them with the AMP.

Cool! Audio-GD makes incredible stuff, but I don’t usually reccomend it for people in the U.S. because it’s so hard to get.

If you want to go through the Audio-GD process, it is WAY better than the stack. But get the new R2R version.

Just to let you know.
The fact that a headphone is open back or not does not make it sound better. The M50X's are such a violent headphone that the laid back sound signature is what made the 598's sound better to you ( IMO ). Many closed back headphones are fantastic.

Yea the audio community is a mess sometimes, just take everything you read with a grain of salt unless the poster has a good reputation. Just do research, buy a headphone and run from the audio forum as fast as you can. Lol

I own and would like to recommend the Audio technica M50x but I have recently tried the Senheiser HD 598SR which sounded better due to the open back design.
not to say I regret buying the M50x .
I don't know where you live but in germany the sennheiser are at around 110 bucks which is insanely cheap.
But they are still 170 bucks on amazon USA so meh.

Take the V1. I haven’t heard anything great about the V3. But I would still probably take the Argon mod.

I did my own take on the Mayflower MK3. It's not exactly as that mod because it's DIY and I altered it slightly for my liking. I do love the mod, it greatly improves the sound. However, I've herd the new Argon mod is insane and I've been considering grabbing a set myself.

Those also have the pads on them so you do not need to buy any

@Max_Settings actually modded his t50s to be those. He loves them. He will fill you in on the differences.

For the AMP/DAC suggestion refer to Max about that. I am not great with amps other than the ones I own.
( schiit stack and soon an AudioGD). Technically any 3.5 mm to 3.5mm will work if I am not mistaken. What is nice about the V-Moda is the quality is good for the price, it is lightweight and best of all ( IMO ) one end is at an angle. Making it more user friendly. I'll link a photo for you to look at of my t50s.

And yes I highly recommend picking up these 3 things for T50s.

I have the T50s. I use the Schiit Stack you mentioned earlier. I would not get anything less powerful than the Magni 3, these headphones need the power. They are by far my favorite headphones for gaming and are very fun for music. It just can be a hassle to buy the pads and a replacement cable. Keep in mind they will not work with mobile devices at all. Plan on 215$ since you need new pads and a new cable.
