  1. Building from scratch bud. Currently have a mini atx board and a intel 5 ready to get put in a rig
  2. I was making it easy for others who would want to buy in America, For myself I'm in U.K. So pounds is my cup of tea brah.
  3. Starting this topic to help cheapskates like myself strive for that performance on a budget. just want people's opinion and experience to see what can you actually get for under 200 dollars/pounds from any make, what card is the best I've been seriously looking at the evga gtx 1050 ti for my next purchase. I previously had 2- r9 290x in crossfire. Im looking for something simple one that will be good value for money any ideas and why
  4. Aw got you, thanks for clearing it up.
  5. Don't think it will buddy because my rig is out of commission cause of the crashing ???
  6. Here's a silly question (or maybe not). Can built in wires such as 2x 6/8 pin pci-e connectors from a PSU when not used cause any sort of crashing problems I.e a rig to turn off under extensive load such as a benchmark ? Its for a or a future reference I went from 2x 290x on crossfire with a total of 4 6pin pcie connectors in use to a single 1050 ti no connectors in use but 2 built in on my evga 750B psu cablemanged and tucked away out of sight and now my rig turns off under use. Ideas pps ive already bought new hardware to start from scratch it's just a unsolved mystery to me
  7. Im seeing really good prices for a Intel i5 3340 quad core cpu, would yous recommend it? i know alot of people would be like just save and buy top of the range but i literally game on my down time and i dont need a power rig.
  8. In a old post i recently upgraded my GPUs then came into power off errors, I tried everything and even used a friends gpu when ever the load began to be high the machine would just turn off so tried it with my mates PSU and the same problem kept occuring so its either motherboard or CPU. alot more stress than it is worth so upgrade. budget is cheaper the better aiming to get below £400 but thats a push. my idea was ryzen 5 but would mean new ram sticks.
  9. Ran into recent problems with my current rig and narrowed it down to Motherboard or CPU (old rig) RIG setup- CPU-AMD A10 Black edition 4ghz 100w Ram- DDR3 8gb Corsair Venegence - 2x4Gb Corsair venegence (BLACK STICKS) Psu - EVGA 750w Bronze Motherboard - ASROCK FM2A88X Extreme 4+ Optical Drive - Blu Ray reader (nothing special) CPU Cooler - Cool Master 103 Hyper (blue led) GPU- EVGA GTX 1050ti Hard Drive - 2x 1Tb Western digital and Seagate Case- CiT G force Gaming (green LEDx3) Now i have to keep too a budget since saving for a place and car etc trying to salvage as much as possible while upgrading. does anyone have suggestion for a reasonable good gaming rig on a budget ?
  10. Hi guys recently ran into little problems with my rig (mentioned on other forums), I feel maybe a change from my FM2 AMD A10 Black edition CPU to something else. Any ideas/Suggestions ?
  11. UPDATE* taken the PC completely apart and started from scratch. i re thermal paste the cooler and cpu i reorganised it..... tested the GPU with a simple benchmark andddd whole rig Switched off compeletly. so got curious tried benchmark with the lowest settings (while montoring CPU temp and load) got to the very end and BANG whole rig switched off yet again. Sending card off and replacing. QUESTION: My AMD A10 cpu is FM2 - my motherboard states FM2 can only get PCI-e 2.0 - while the GPU needs PCI-e 3.0 Cards are backwards compabitble or have i found the issue ? im literally running out of options and ideas
  12. I got the GPU from PC world brand new, PSU is defaintly ok, Card shouldnt be damaged but im gonna try get a replacement and go from there, Ive tried reinstalling the drivers ive done various ways. also risked updating my BIOS, CPU drivers and tried taking parts out and trying it. ZANDO BOB - have you ever used the same CPU/APU ?
  13. yes with the orignal disk and i checked for updates aswell.
  14. Hi guys and girls i really need help fault finding here. Recently changed my Crossfire AMD R9 270x (2gb each) for Gtx 1050Ti 4GB. ive made the change and My rig is now Shutting down when Playing games. list of faults ive looked for - . Ive deleted all software for previous graphic cards. (so not software) . PSU is brand new out of box 2 months in use its a EVGA 750B (PSU) . Taken RAM sticks out and tried individual ones which didnt help (RAM) . recently bought a CPU Cooler (Cool master Hyper 103).... checked the heat sink/reapplied (CPU) .Cable management i no longer use the VGA cables from PSU and seen a thread with someone saying it could be that.... . GPU - new from PC WORLD very much doubt its a malfunction dud, but ive been watching movies on this card without any crashes only when i play a graphically intense game it will turn off (not shut down..literally no power... need to take plug out of wall and wait a few seconds until any sort of boot up is possible) MOTHERBOARD- Everything points too GPU and motherboard not being compatable ive researched online and seen people with my motherboard. (ASROCK FM2A88X Extreme4+) with the card. Now heres the question is it as obvious as needing to change boards or is it something that isnt money consuming. RIG setup- CPU-AMD A10 Black edition 4ghz 100w Ram- 8gb Corsair Venegence - 2x4Gb Corsair venegence (BLACK STICKS) Psu - EVGA 750w Bronze Motherboard - ASROCK FM2A88X Extreme 4+ Optical Drive - Blu Ray reader (nothing special) CPU Cooler - Cool Master 103 Hyper (blue led) Hard Drive - 2x 1Tb Western digital and Seagate Case- CiT G force Gaming (green LEDx3) ive DDU and taken out my old drivers, it says everything in my rig is compatable but im not sure anymore. Ive got a APU and im thinking its clashing I know its alot of reading and i hope ive structured it for some of you's to tell me the obvious or not so obvious reason my Rig went from working to not in the space of a few short weeks. hope you can help Thank you
  15. There is loads of options for linux, .You can get a portable hard drive and boot with linux from your laptop https://askubuntu.com/questions/446682/how-to-install-ubuntu-on-portable-external-hard-drive Boot from Usb and use it to try but you cant store projects i dont think because you havent allocated Disk space https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows Or you can Dual boot like i mentioned in the first comment http://www.tecmint.com/install-linux-mint-18-alongside-windows-10-or-8-in-dual-boot-uefi-mode/ used a few linux distros and i would recommend Mint for your first try if you havent used it before.. great OS linux are, hope it helped
