I haven't listened to the HD6XXs much recently with all these new headphones coming, and I regret it. Ran balanced they can bring a tear to your eye. Still probably the most impressive set of headphones I have.

    @dizmo never because it greatly changes the sound. But there are aftermarket pads.

    The blue has less sub bass, and a bit more mid bass on the top end. Also has higher mids, slightly recessed treble between 8K and 12K but then harsher treble from there on up.

    Ahhh right right that's what I was initially thinking. It looks pretty close to the original though, do changes of that amount really change the sound that much?
