@Cyberspirit yep, I was scrambling for monies yesterday and managed to buy mine as soon as they were available this morning, they've since sold out. Since I'm an impatient doofus I paid for next day shipping too, so hopefully it'll get here tomorrow. Since it was announced I've been waiting for it to drop cause it's in my price range, finally did. I liked my Vega FE, this performs even better, should be on par with my 1080 Ti (may end up selling that, IDK, will see how this compares) in most games, hopefully better once we've got proper drivers and such.

i do kinda want one because my Linux experience with my 1080 hasnt been stellar, but i also dont have a spare amount of money larger than what my motorbike cost :P

@Bananasplit_00 RIP. It'll be interesting to see what Vega pricing does now, though I don't think AMD made enough Radeon VIIs (basically Vega II) to push the price down. Hopefully they make more, that may push used Vega FEs/64s/56s down in price, and they're great cards. I had a Vega FE before, stellar GPU, monster in render tasks. @Troika has it now. Performs on a level with the 1080, and AMD cards play nice with Linux so ig you can get one it'd be a great option. Same perf, less headaches.

one of my friends got a Vega 64 and its been nice, his I5 3570K is holding it back quite a bit though, really hard to get an I7 3770K for an OK price so he is still on the I5. I dont think i want a Vega 64 without a PSU upgrade though, sure i have G2 650W but i know i would make that sucker draw 550W alone xD

lol, facts. I ran mine on a 650W G3 for a bit but swapped to my 1000W G3 as soon as I could. Same with how I ran a 980 Ti on a 450W PSU but got a higher wattage one as soon as I could. You can do it, but if you wanna push the hardware to it's limits it's risky.

Now I have a 1600W T2 for my eventual SR-2 rig, scored that monster for only $180 brand new on one of EVGA's sales, then a 1000W G3  I'm using with my single CPU rig. So I should be covered for pretty much anything. If you can get your hands on a beefy wattage PSU it's great, peace of mind can't really be overrated. I'd love to get an HXi or AXi eventually but they're expensive and I already have great PSUs. Just wanna nerd out on the power consumption of my hardware...

the T2 1600W is really just PSU goals. I do have a 1000W PSU but it has quite a few years on it and apparently coilwhines/makes a strange noise when pushed beyond 350W :/

yeah... wouldn't want to trust that. And yus, the T2 is a monster unit. It's totally overbuilt, even the power cord is incredibly beefy, massively chunky connectors and the PSU on/off switch itself is oversized. Incredibly solid feeling and it's really, really quiet if you enable the eco mode, otherwise the fan spins at all times and is pretty loud (I assume miners or people using it in a render farm or something would leave it like that so it stays as cool as possible). Only PSU that's nicer would be the AXi, same efficiency but you get monitoring and all that dank stuff.

I wouldnt ever take advantage of the monitoring part so i prefer the T2 :P The switch on my 1000W is also a real chunky boi, its just soooo goood to flip that :D

    ikr? It's just satisfying.

I do have it and its undervolted to 1.12V and sits under 80C underload and maintains its 1.6Ghz clock speed without drops. The heat is also appreciated since its cold this week.

That said, a single card that's easily twice as powerful as my Fury X still can't play Ark Survival at more than 50FPS on high. ; w; But it stays at a consistant 40~50FPS at 1440p. I could knock it down to 1080p but if I wanted that, I wouldn't have bought a 1440p monitor over black friday. ?
