    For this alone I think going to 24GB is more useful than keeping 16GB dual channel. Not having enough ram is generally a much bigger performance impact than single/dual channel.
     
    Having mismatched capacities means at best only part of the capacity will be dual channel. Still better than nothing.

    From the picture it does indeed look pretty shit*y. Regarding the TN panels, its true, and the quality of them varies, from your case I would also guess that there is something wrong with coating of the screen (which leads to picture looking like dust etc.). Or just the panel is defective... RMA it definitely. What is the reason for not being able to return it though?
