  1. I'm thinking of either the 2600+1660Ti or 3600+RTX2060 combination, will be gaming at 1080p for the foreseeable future..
  2. I'm currently eying a budget orientated Ryzen 2600 build, only waiting for the Ryzen 3600 to release, but with the Ryzen 2600's price around $140 (possibly even lower), I'm waiting for the benchmark before pulling the trigger, but in theory, how much of an improvement from the 2600 to 3600 to justify going for the 3600?
  3. You mean my current setup? I'm running a Xeon E1230v2 paired with 1050Ti
  4. Hi all, I can get a i5 9400F built with 1070ti and 16gb ram at a good price (new built), however, it's a bundled build and I'm only tempted just because of the 1070TI (the system is basically priced the same as a 1660Ti build, maybe a few dollars cheaper). Should I wait for the new ryzen series and possibly pair it with a 1660Ti or just go for this build? I don't plan to upgrade as my old build lasted me about 5 years, only adding RAM and changing the GPU.
  5. Hi all, I'm in the midst of planning my next build which would most likely consist of either the i5 9400f or the new ryzen 3000 series depending on the price and performance, most likely paring it with a 1660Ti as the core. The last time I was really into tech and PC stuff was in 2013-ish so I'm a bit out of touch in the PC industry. I'm Currently using the Dell U2312HM monitor, it has served me well for the past 4-5 years but I'm looking for something that produces better image quality. I will use it to game, high refresh rates (and all the gaming features) are not a necessity for me as I prioritize the actual image quality more than the features. My budget is around $200. 1080p is fine for me, 1440p would be great. anything from 24'-27' is good enough. Matte or glossy are both fine. After some initial research, I'm looking at:- 1)DELL SE2719H IPS 2)DELL 24' U2417H ULTRASHARP IPS 3)Samsung IT LC27F591FDNXZA 4) LG 27MP59G FHD IPS
  6. I've came across that forum as well, I deleted messenger and facebook but the outcome is still the same. I've had auto update disabled since day one. I'll probably do a factory reset and see how it goes
  7. Not sure if it's just a Samsung problem as I have battery issues with my LG V30+ as well, however, mine occurs randomly, not everyday. I'd say the drain occurs about 4 out of 7 days per week, and like Linus said in the video, the battery while using the phone is actually fine, however once it goes on idle, it can easily use up an extra 5-10% per hour for me. I'm not a heavy user AT ALL, most of my days my screen on time is about 1 hour within a 10 hour time frame and my battery drops to 40-50% (when the drain doesn't occur a 1 hour+ SOT can last me 24 hours before it reaches the 50% mark). Checking with the phone's settings, the drain is caused by mdnsd, and 'system' will take up half my battery usage with mdnsd using most of the battery. I've done some googling and what I found out is that firefox and some drone app causes the mdnsd to activate, however I don't have both of those apps. Naturally, I figured that some app is causing the mdnsd to activate so i tried force stopping them one by one to see if any of them causes mdnsd but none of them show signs of activating it. This is very frustrating.
  8. I live in Malaysia so there's no winter for me hahaha. So can I conclude that the cooler is working fine? As long as my PC doesn't shut down I'm should be good?
  9. Yes. It is very cheap. Like i said in the post, I want a intel cooler replacement as the intel cooler has worked well for many years, up until recently.
  10. Yes, i'm expecting to perform like the intel cooler, but a couple of years ago my intel stock cooler was only running at 40/80 (idle/gaming), never seen it reach over 90 degrees up until recently when I started monitoring the temps as I hear the fan spin loudly ( there's about a gap of 1 year where i did not monitor the temps though)
  11. Hi all, this morning i've decided to replace clean and replace my intel stock cooler for my Xeon E1230v2, however, I could'nt reinstall them as 3 of the pins are stuck in the lock position so I went to my local pc store and picked up a similar cooler, the deepcool theta 9. When installing, i noticed that 2 pins did not click, but was pushed down, so naturally i removed them and reinstalled them again. Same thing. This is when i think maybe it's meant to be installed this way, so i decided to boot. PC restarts every few seconds without even reaching bios. After fiddling with my RAM and GPU, couldnt boot, thus ive decided to reinstall the cooler again, this time ( yay ), managed to reach windows but was at 80+ degrees celsius(176F+). Reinstalled the cooler again (I change the position for every re-installation), same thing, only 2 clicks, but managed to reach a lower temp at around 50 idle. Now the old intel cooler gave me 60+(140F+) on idle, and 80-90+(176-194+) while gaming ( when it was around 1~2 years old it was 30-40+(86-104F+) idle, 60-70+(140-158F+) gaming, this cooler gives me 50+ idle but I tried gaming and it reached as high at 97 (207F) degrees. My question is could the pins for the cooler be faulty? Other things to note: 1)I live in a pretty hot country, temps should be around 30 degrees celsius (86F), so slightly hotter temps are to be expected, but reaching almost 100 degrees celsius ( 212F) is a bit too much right? 2)I'm using a Bitfenix prodigy (ITX) , and I'm not too much of a tech person, that's why I went with the push pin style ( if the store i went to actually sell the intel stock cooler i won't mind as it has worked well for me in the past) 3)Could the age of the CPU affect the temps and not the cooler itself? 4)Other hardware are running at a pretty cool temperature.
  12. Even if the cards are priced similarly? And thanks for letting me know about the fake gtx 960 and 970s, didn't know anything about them prior to this post Yeah they're all priced similarly.. so it's not a bad buy then?
  13. I see, how about 6GB 1060 if I can find a used one for a good price? Is it worth the extra $? At this point if its down to 970 v 1060 3gb i'll probably opt for the 1060 since my PSU i only 500W
  14. Hi all, I've been running a fairly old low end rig for awhile now, and I've missed many good games in recent years due to a weak GPU, and right now im thinking of getting a used GPU as my budget is rather limited. The specs of my pc are: Xeon E1230v2 8GB 1333mhz ram MSI B75 itx motherboard FSP 500W PSU GTX650Ti Boost Bitfenix Prodigy ITX case I haven't been following the pc scene for the past few years after building my rig but holy sh*t everything is expensive?? Anyway, budget would be around $250-$300. Currently looking at the used market and found a few choices: 1)Used GTX1060 3GB 2)Used GTX970 4GB 3)Used RX570 4GB
  15. Hello everyone , ever since i built my old pc 3 years ago , I've kind of disconnected from the tech world , and since my PC is 3 years old can is struggling to play newer games , I'd like to think that its a good time to buy a brand new computer .. However , i have a relatively tight budget thus I'm thinking of getting a few used parts , especially graphics card . I'm wondering whats the best graphics card (used) I can get for less than $250 ? NOTE: I dont play newer games . I always wait for steam sales , so the games I play are mostly at least 1 year old , and i'll probably be paring it with a i5 or ryzen 5
