As long as your current CPU will work with that board you can try it. I doubt that board will fit in your case though. HP, Dell, etc. don't conform the ATX standard and use their own form factor instead. You could lay the motherboard on a cardboard box and test it. Is it worth it? Meh, if you're upgrading this year anyways I wouldn't.

oh no its not in the stock case its in a case my uncle gave me the case is  from like 2008 or something its a old case but my uatx mobo fits in there with alot of room to spare. like this case is back when the bigger the case the better. i had to buy a laptop desk just for my pc to sit on lol

Sounds like the motherboard is dead. I would suggest not using that Rosewill PSU again.

so should i get this mobo just to try it and see if thats it https://www.amazon.com/Biostar-Motherboard-Tb250-btc-Lga1151-Express/dp/B072LXX4NF/ref=sr_1_1?crid=35ARJYBI7T8PX&keywords=lga+1151+motherboard&qid=1552596070&s=gateway&sprefix=lga%2Caps%2C153&sr=8-1

i im not trying to build this pc up. im gonna build a new pc later this year i just wanna make this one work

Did you break a warranty seal when you switched the PSUs? If not, I'd put the original back in there and RMA it. You should still be in warranty on a Kaby Lake desktop.

i switched the case it was in and been doing little upgrades here and there but like nothing major just adding fans and stuff and rgb so i can be a cool kid xD

Was it working fine with the old PSU? If so, I would ensure that your 24pin power cable to your motherboard is plugged in all the way (can be tough sometimes) and that your power switch cable didn't come loose.

To test the PSU look up how to start it with a paperclip. If its not one of those silent models where the fan only runs when it needs it the fan should kick on when you flip the switch.

ya i was using the psu for like 5 months or so  and i switched psu to the stop one to see if the psu was dead and still nothing no fans turn on no hdd spinning

  8. So i have a hp pavilion 580-023 its a gaming desktop and im not getting any power i put a new power supply in and new power cord, switched the ram around, ive been messing around with it to see if i can figure out whats wrong with it and i cant find anything, the old psu in it was 300w but i changed it out with a old 1000w rosewil that my uncle gave me. i think the mobo might be dead but if anyone has any suggestions im more than willing to try

What makes you think you need 144Hz? Most of those games aren't that likely to run 144fps or higher constantly unless you have some beefy hardware to back it up.

i wasnt gonna list my entire game collection  and i have a a 1080 that i got off craigslist for like 350 bucks, ram that i also got on craigslist and a i7 7700koff craigslist lol #ballinonabuget and i wanna future proof  too so when i do upgrade to a i9 in like 3 or 4 years and get a better gpu and stuff i wont have to get a better monitor and the colors on my tv are so shit

  11. Hello so i have a 21.5 inch tv that is 30 and at least 10 years old that i am currently using as a monitor its 1080p but that id ok cause i have a 55in lg 4k smart tv where i watch all my movies and stuff, i just looking for a cheap 24-27 inch 144 hz monitor with good color, i play lots of games with good colors like ark, rust, destiny 2, black ops 4 and i also dabble in digital art. So if someone can help me find a good high refresh rate monitor for like under 400 bucks that would be great ive been looking for the past couple weeks and all the ones i have found are so expensive.
