I wonder if AMD's new offerings will win me over. Upgrade season approaches.
-
Not sure of their new stuff, but if prices keep dropping I am going to have a dozen R5 1600 machines all over the place
Damn you, Microcenter!!
-
Haha, no the VII doesn't interest me. Performance just isn't there for the price.
@jstudrawa I've used (or rather, tried to use) the 1600 before. Not a fan. Got rid of it almost immediately. First gen Ryzen had horrible RAM support, and I won't use AMD again until they've fully sorted it.

First-gen RAM problems were fixed with a BIOS update.

@Crunchy Dragon So you can plug any RAM into it, and it'll work just fine? Until they can accomplish that, which I've always had with Intel, they're kind of a no go for me...
@LukeSavenije Too old. I'd rather have the performance boosts of the newer stuff.
@jstudrawa Personally, I'd be going high refresh rate 21:9 1440p, if not higher. Gotta be an upgrade from what I have now, and I'm moving into a new place soon that'll have an office for me to work in so I don't need as much desk space for my personal rig.
-
@dizmo at this point, basically.
-
@jstudrawa I'm not entirely sure, but it'll be something 35"+, 1440p+; mostly comes down to how AMD's new cards are. If they're able to push the pixels, I'll get something cheaper with Freesync, if not, then I'll buy something from Nvidia with GSync.
@LukeSavenije I won't be using what I have now, I'll be using whatever 32GB kit I can get cheap.
@Crunchy Dragon Interesting. I might consider them then. Especially if the rumors are anywhere near accurate. I'd love me some 6 core at $100.
