  1. I am trying to shrink the partition of my C drive, just cleaned it out with windirstat, it claims to have 100gb free, but in diskmgmt.scr, when i try to shrink the partition, it will not let me shrink it more than 255mb
  2. I figured it out - the user that I was using to ssh was not a shell user and was not able to execute commands - thats why the session was being closed.
  3. No, no matter what command I do it will close
  4. sorry - was not looking at import fees and such - the gtx 1050 is more pricey than I thought with fees and the like
  5. It is not quite in price - but this gtx 1050 looks decent https://in.pcpartpicker.com/product/KPNypg/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1050-2gb-d5-video-card-gv-n1050d5-2gd if you were looking for something AMD then this looks decent and is right under your price range - https://in.pcpartpicker.com/product/wcKhP6/asus-radeon-rx-550-2gb-video-card-rx550-2g if you were looking for low noise, I would go with the 1050 - and overall I think the 1050 is an overall better card for the price - especially with the crazy gpu pricing right now
  6. I have a VPS from dream-host (because I had a discount code) where I host a couple of small sites. I have ssh access to this VPS and it normally works fine. Recently (in the past hr) it has started not accepting ssh connections. It will let me establish a connection, I enter my password just fine, but then when I type in a command - in the example "cd Desktop" it will immediately close the connection. Here is an example with the flag -vvv. Also - all personal info has been replaced with *** so don't try
  7. Agree - I use arch, but I use that because I am used to it. Go with whatever you have used in the past - unless it dose not support what you need
  8. if you are used to Ubuntu, go with ubuntu - the server LTS version would be what I would go for - as it is lighter and dose not have that frequent updates.
  9. sorry, this is an old topic, I have not been on the form in a while. Hope you got it fixed, if not, try downloading ubuntu or something - flashing it onto a USB thumb drive, (if you are looking for a tool Rufs is good, or if you need simple Etcher is a great bet) then try booting from that, if that works, it is just a problem with windows, and not anything too serious
  10. Do you care about it having a good desktop, or are you planning to only access it over ssh
  11. I would go with the 1800x if you had to pick now. But if you are not in a hurry I would wait for zen 2 to come out. Also I might just get a lower end ryzen 7 and overclock it to match the 1800x - depending on your use case.
  12. Can you give more detail? eg. type of laptop, update for the os or just some software?
