  1. I would like to see more case reviews. Probably more smartphone reviews other than just the latest iPhone and Galaxy phones. The LG V30 for example. I love your review format and I don't get the same harsh criticism from some other reviewers (of smartphones).
  2. AMD Athlon x4 760K Sapphire Radeon R7 260x 8GB Crucial Ballistix RAM MSI A78M-E35 Motherboard Corsair SPEC-01 Case Corsair CX500 Power supply WD Black 1TB HDD Adata SP550 120GB SSD LG 23MP57HQ IPS LED Monitor Acer V226WL LED Monitor 2 Corsair SP 120mm fans (Front) The inluded Corsair 120mm Fan that came with the case (top) Corsair H60 CPU cooler with the included fan (rear) I would like to have a build that will last me a long time. I'm not worried about getting a new monitor right now, as a few people have been suggesting. That's something that I would be getting later on down the road, I'm worried about getting a new PC first. "Future proofing" is stupid but back when I built this PC I never had any issues playing any games I owned at the time (Built Summer 2014). 3 years later it struggles to run games like WoW after they updated a lot of character models and NPC models with new animations etc. Average 30-40 FPS on something near mid to high settings. I want something that will last for a while. Getting a somewhat cheaper GPU for now that can run the games I play on at least high settings is fine until I feel like upgrading to something like a Vega card once the price starts to go down a little bit.
  3. My 1080p monitor is my main at the moment so I get decent quality graphics out of it, I'm more concerned with getting a new build and a new monitor will be an afterthought
  4. Hey all. My current build is on it's last legs and I'm looking to get something new that will give me no issues while gaming. 1. Budget & Location I'm looking to spend $1500 or less, also, I live in the US. 2. Aim Gaming, for the most part. Anything that can game well enough can handle the light work load I have for other things so I'm not too worried about video rendering or anything like that. Gaming is my main priority for a build. (I play a variety of games, but nothing crazy. I.e; Overwatch, WoW, Cities: Skylines, etc. Not worried about ultra settings in Rainbow Six Siege or anything like that. 3. Monitors Currently at 2. Not looking to get more but I might upgrade one. I have 1 1080p IPS panel and another monitor that is 1680 x 1050. Probably going to swap out the 1680 panel a little while after I build for something that's 1080p. 4. Peripherals I'm all set on peripherals. This section is somewhat irrelevant to me other than I would like to keep a PS2 port for my mechanical keyboard. 5. Why are you upgrading? My current build is old and outdated, I'm starting to have stability issues and it's getting very very loud for some reason. (I'm thinking it's a combination of my AIO water cooler and the $40 case my build is in) AMD Athlon x4 760K Sapphire Radeon R7 260x 8GB Crucial Ballistix RAM MSI A78M-E35 Motherboard Corsair SPEC-01 Case Corsair CX500 Power supply WD Black 1TB HDD Adata SP550 120GB SSD LG 23MP57HQ IPS LED Monitor Acer V226WL LED Monitor 2 Corsair SP 120mm fans (Front) The inluded Corsair 120mm Fan that came with the case (top) Corsair H60 CPU cooler with the included fan (rear) I'm preferably looking for a Ryzen system. I have a build parted out on pcpartpicker but it's a little too expensive. My current graphics card will not be up to the task in a newer build and Vega cards are currently way too expensive to be realistic for me. I would also prefer an AMD GPU but if I also don't know if the Radeon 580 is worth it's salt either. I guess all in all I'm mostly asking for a recommended graphics card. I'm not entirely sure about which Ryzen is best for gaming right now either so I would like some guidance with that as well but most other stuff I should be well enough off finding on my own like a motherboard and RAM. (EDIT: Added my entire build for those that would like to know)
  5. I adjusted the base MHz up from 100.00 to 103.00 with the multiplier still at 41 and all my issues seem to have been fixed. No stability issues and my performance is great. Thanks for the help!
  6. I've checked the BIOS for my board and I can't directly turn the voltage up. I can adjust my base MHz and then the multiplier ratio. The only thing I see about voltage is for DRAM.
  7. Would something like this happen so suddenly? Would it be recommended to try to bump my voltage at all? I didn't need to adjust voltage when I originally overclocked, all I did was bump the ratio up.
  8. Hey everyone, (Originally posted in PC gaming but didn't find a solution) I've been running this build for about 3 years now with minimal hiccups preventing me from playing any games. I recently got into overclocking as I improved the cooling in my PC. I haven't had any issues with my overclock for several months until now, and I'm not even sure if that is the issue. The build I'm running is; AMD Athlon x4 760k Overclocked to 4.1Ghz (4.5Ghz Turbo) AMD Radeon Sapphire R7 260x Overclocked with MSI Afterburner (Core Clock: 1200 Memory Clock: 1550 Core Voltage +10) MSI A78M-E35 8 GB Ballistix Sport DDR3 Ram I haven't had any real issues in games so far until yesterday(9/5/17) after I downloaded Life is Strange on Steam. After opening the game I had absolutely terrible performance and could barely even play the game even on the lowest settings. After that, I launched several other games to test if it was global or simply game optimization issues with that specific game. Gauntlet: Slayer Edition also showed me horrible performance (not a very graphics intense game imo). Finally this brought me to Overwatch, in which I launched the game and was getting 3 FPS on the main screen. I checked for driver updates, installed the newest one as of yesterday(9/5/17) and it was somewhat better performing on Overwatch but still very choppy with a lot of framerate spikes. I noticed while playing these various games that my GPU usage was high (80%-100%) while my CPU usage remained low in all three games. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but I figured it was something worth noting. Again, I had no issues until yesterday(9/5/17). The only new software I installed was Life is Strange. I've never had a game installation cause problems across the board. I was not having any performance issues three days ago(9/4/17), but since yesterday(9/5/17) I have been having these problems. I've checked for updates on everything I can possibly think of so I know nothing is out of date causing any optimization issues. ((I have uninstalled LiS and I am still having performance issues. I closed as many background applications as possible to no avail.)) My thermals are good. CPU is around 30°C under load, GPU is around 50°C under load. My Cinebench performance is about half of what it used to be on both OpenGL and on the CPU test. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
  9. I ran Cinebench to see if that performance was different and sure enough it was. I used to get about 30FPS on OpenGL testing and this time I got 17.7 FPS. CPU tests used to be in the low-mid 400's and now I'm getting 276 cb. Something is bogging my entire system down and I don't know what it could be.
  10. My thermals should be no issue. Cpu is usually about 30° C under load and GPU is usually around 50° C under load. I just tried to play overwatch again and was at 6 FPS on the title screen with no programs out of the ordinary running in the background.
  11. Will reinstalling LiS delete my game save file?

  13. None of my power settings would prevent me from boosting it a little bit higher? I don't have voltage control as far as I know but I still have things like Cool 'n' Quiet on and I see usually you should turn that off when you OC to begin with. I mean 4.2 is totally fine for me right now while I'm waiting to build on Ryzen but I just want to see how far I can push it and still be stable. 4.2Ghz seems kinds of disappointing to max out at.
  14. Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to overclocking and I have a 3 year old budget build I'm trying to squeeze some more performance out of while I'm saving up for a new Ryzen + Vega build. My build is; AMD Athlon x4 760K overclocked to 4.2 Ghz (4.5Ghz Turbo) Sapphire Radeon R7 260X (Core Voltage +10, Core Clock 1100 Mhz, Memory Clock 1550 Mhz) MSI A78M-E35 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport Corsair CX500 Power Supply 120GB Adata SSD +3 Other hard drives I forget what they all are exactly right now. I've tried to bring my CPU clock to 4.3+ Ghz and my system is really unstable and 4.2Ghz is the most I can get a stable OC on. I recently overclocked the NB to 2400 Mhz and so far have had no issues. As far as I can tell, I have no access to turn my voltage up any higher. It's currently sitting at 1.45v. However, I do still have all of the power regulation options still active. AMD Cool' n' Quiet, SVM control, etc. I was wondering if there's any way I can get some more power out of this for the time being or I'm limited by my hardware in some way. I can try to provide more details upon request like UEFI screenshots of what I'm running at currently. P.S. For those who ask, I've got a Corsair H60 for cooling so my temps are fairly low to begin with (22°C Idle, 43°C running Prime95 ~15 minutes)
  15. I used to use AVG periodically throughout the years but I wouldn't dream of installing it now.
  16. I've never had any issues with Windows Defender after upgrading to windows 10. I just use it in conjunction with Malwarebytes scans to make sure I'm getting fully covered and protected from threats. AVG is good on and off but I have had no issues just using Windows Defender since I got Windows 10. Not a joke my friend.
  17. Thanks! I managed to narrow it down to about 4 and now I'm mostly debating screen size as I found one that's 27 inches and the rest are 24 but it's also $15 more for 3 inches and can't decide if that's worth it at all.
  18. Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and I was trying to see if I could get any tips on choosing my next monitor. Currently running an Acer V226WL LED panel and a GPX tv. The specs I'm looking for are; 1920 x 1080+ 60Hz+ 5ms or less response timeq At least 23 inches Only looking to spend up to $130 US I've got about 9 tabs of Newegg open right now and am a bit overwhelmed at checking the specs and price of everything to see what I would get. I don't know if there's any easier way to look at a compiled list of monitors with specs/prices. Any help would be much appreciated!
