  1. So after a bit of a hiatus I am back into SC, my wallet needed a break! and sadly I had left the FAQ to become a little over grown with old information. This kind chap @DtrollMC created this thread http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/290993-what-is-star-citizen/which does a rather good job of filing in the gaps and I will work on rewriting the FAQ with a bit more current info.
  2. Aaaaaaaannnnnnnnnndddddddddd connection errors! Yay! time to brows the forums looking to see if there is a fix. Hows everyone liking the changes so far?
  3. Downloading.... this is going to take a while... brb coffee
  4. Well your ships computer could and would probably tell you. But in case you were flying blind it would be a good thing to have.

    Best Small Firearm

Although you have received some thought out replies could you not go to a range or gun dealer or something and actually look and see probably test fire the guns you are thinking of? I am not an expert in firearms (I doubt that many here are) but I would think that especially as a police person you will be carrying it for long periods of time and will be expected to use it, take the time to go get one you are comfortable with. there are bound to be many within your specifications.
  6. Lets be fair I could go an buy a TV I used to have one but came to the conclusion that I simply don't want one I prefer to spend my time more constructively than watching adverts. Plus the TV Licence's piss me off to no end.
  7. Personally I am a pc gamer, that being I play games on a computer, this is partly due to the fact that my job revolves around pcs I am very comfortable around them and I have a large group of friends that also play on pcs but more so revolves around the fact that I do not own a TV to plug a console into. I have no qualms about console gamers because lets face it we are all gamers, yes a pc can last longer with a higher upfront investment but a console can last just as long with a smaller upfront investment (n64 anyone?) there is a higher graphics barrier on pc but a plug and play experience on console. Frankly its all bullshit play with what you are comfortable with and when someone says you are wrong, smile, nod and carry on with what ever the hell you were doing!
  8. Just be observant about things on your network and check often, change your passwords every few months (handy for keeping the random visitors off anyway), filter and ban mac addresses etc. Basically do a bit of admin.
  9. nuclear launch codes are not that big http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2614323/Americas-feared-nuclear-missile-facilities-controlled-computers-1960s-floppy-disks.html so it cant be that... one down some other causes to look at
  10. if you were getting a decent connection over wired you could go for a powerline ethernet solution, it is not as good as a straight cable but imho its better than wifi. if not try changing the location of your router or computer. if it is far away from your computer you may get degraded signal especially if there is a lot of stuff in-between.
  11. you can list the specifications of each and every pc you own. you check the fibre availability before moving house. you have an ide harddrive on your desk that just appeared and never left (None of your computers use ide any more but you don't want to get rid of it... just in case!) You have a plethora of cables and adapters for just about any and every situation.
  12. I have been enjoying it. Bang bang bouncy bouncy... Good! I have been playing HC S&D mostly and it can get very exciting jumping about like pogosticks on a rampage trying to kill the last enemy with a nerfgun whilst getting jerked about like a puppet on the laggy hand of a god. OK I exaggerate a bit, the lag is sometimes bad but by far not the worst I have had as its normally ok and there are some balance issues but again not uncommon for any new game. so well... its pretty decent so far. I have not yet played through the SP maybe over the weekend.
  13. it seems alright but do shop around when it comes to purchase time... you can sometimes find very good deals. I have not done so for your specs but take a look at your future upgrade paths SLI, or a better processor in the future etc it is sometimes worth the little extra now for the easy and affordable upgrade in the future that will extend the pc's gaming lifetime. Also Linux is looking up for gaming there are more games everytime I look, good choice on the Nvidia card for that as AMD has terrible Linux drivers.
  14. My webcam mic is a bit messed up, if my computer goes to sleep and then restores my voice sounds like a chipmunk until I restart the pc. My case side panel has the window removed due to space considerations with my cooler and thus it rattles, it's now held in place with ducktape I am looking at sorting out a new computer early next year to replace it entierly and using this one as a VM host for a homelab... maybe.
  15. Agreed not poking the silk road <insert current number here>!
