  1. The possible to being the problem . I would attempt that and see what happens.
  2. I would recommend a GPU upgrade soon, as only having a 2GB frame buffer is pretty low for newer titles, and a CPU upgrade would reap a heavy benefit. I recommend looking for a cheap 1060, or even a 980. Used/pre-owned hardware still have a ton of life in them. (my entire build is used hardware). Ryzen 7 1700/1800s are dirt cheap for the performance they give, if you wait a little longer they may even go lower. Hope this helps.
  3. That would be the problem. In order to control the speeds, data needs to be sent from the hub to the mobo, vice versa. Molex is strictly power. You would need to use USB in order to adjust the speeds.
  4. Are you using molex to power it or a USB header?
  5. https://pebblehost.com/vps At one point I used this service, and it was great. Not 100% sure now, as I am sure they have changed since.
  6. The processor isn't good for todays standards and you'd find it sluggish, even googling something.
  7. I wouldn't go for that lol. Who ever installed El Captain on a Core 2 Duo is a dumbass. I'm not even sure how he got the system information up. i'd save the money and go for a more recent if you are planning to go Apple.
  8. Well Intel had a press release stating that in 2018 it would become a royalty-free standard to OEMs and chip manufacturers, making it more of a staple than a nice to have feautre. I mean, I have a 500 dollar MSI laptop with a GPU enclosure running a GTX 970 and it does the job. I just want to see Apple make a tower again lol.
  9. Apple has fallen too far off the deep end tbh, and even if they try their hardest, they aren't going to go too far. This is a decent feature, but Windows has always had it, and it just shows how money hungry Apple really is.
  10. iGPUs are garbo, and there is no definite release date. Living without a GPU even a couple of months defeats the whole purpose of building a gaming PC, even if the APU itself was booty.
  11. ^ thats so true, but it is still 10x better than the original APU and performs roughly on par/ a tad under a 1060
  12. You can go on eBay and find really good deals on 970s or 980tis. I definitely recommend staying away from APUs, I find them lack luster performance wise. I'd recommend a Ryzen 5 1600 paired with either, as an example, a 970 or 980ti. I just built a kickass Xeon build with 6 cores at 3.8 ghz with a 980ti for about 700 and it destroys in games and even heavy workloads. Usaed hardware as of right now, for GPUs and even ram if you are lucky enough to find some, is the way to go unfortunately. Now I don't want to preach that you should go with an old server Xeon, but they are really good processors, if you know how and what to pick out, since there are a lot of them. You could do a simple google search, but a Xeon, circa 2013-present, with less cores/threads, and a higher clock speed, will be amazing for gaming, that be it, paired with a good motherboard and GPU. A perk for building a Xeon build is the ECC memory is really cheap, just make sure if you were to go that route to make sure it is clocked at atleast 1600mhz. If you want help parting out a build PM me and ill be happy to help you.
  13. I wouldn't know that since I haven't tried the III, but I do recommend the cheaper of the two since I can recommend it and it works flawlessly if you install it correctly. It was also SUPER quiet and an extra fan wouldn't make enough of a difference to justify the price.
