  1. Look at doing a bit of photo scanning on the side for people, what is the best scanner that can do all 3 for under $1000? I am currently looking at the Epson Perfection V850 Pro. Any other suggestions? https://www.amazon.com/Epson-Perfection-V850-Pro-scanner/dp/B00OCEJMG8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1544028095&sr=8-3&keywords=epson+v850+pro

  8. Just saw this as a comment to a 90's movie with a line about using the internet and hogging the Tele line. " Something my children will know. They will have a desktop and dial up. There will be WiFi but its not like they will have a device to hook up to it anyway " My only comment. "But... The wifi would be dial up also then..."

  10. So I went to try and install the drivers and enable that option in the BIOS, and it destroyed all data on all of my drives. Don't know how, but it did. Had to reinstall windows and the whole 9 yards. Maybe will pick up Ubuntu again in the future, but for now I will stick with windows.

  15. That is cool. Might have to take the code and reverse engineer it a bit.
  16. Probably not. That might be why they are killing them off.
  17. http://www.eteknix.com/oracle-is-killing-off-java/ So the plugin is being removed from existence because it has not done anything for forever. At least it is one less venerability in a browser for people who do not know. Html5 is the future. Lets go!

He used to be in when he worked at Best Buy as the manager, but have gotten out. Would love to have a family member to talk to about tech again.
  21. They will loose me as soon as Google fiber comes in.
  22. Yeah that is true. Unfortunately I am one of the people stuck with the data cap from Comcast. We are paying at the moment 60+ in overages...
  23. http://www.wired.com/2015/11/comcast-may-have-found-a-major-net-neutrality-loophole/ So because it is not "internet" it will not count against your data cap. Makes sense, but isn't it prioritizing your own data over others? So yeah... right now it is a gray area, but what do you guys think? Should they be allowed to do this or no and this is against "Net Neutrality"?
  24. This would be amazing for either a pc to bring to a friends house or just a stream PC.
