Well funnily enough I did have a problem with the board when I first bought it, but I had it replaced right away so I hope that isn't the issue. I've not had any problems now for about a week, so hopefully it will be okay for the long run - if not I'll have to delve deeper

Great thank you, I'll keep that in mind

When I contacted Zotac, they immediately asked about my PSU, and haven't really got back to me since. I'm on the lookout for a PSU during the Black Friday period, so I'll try find one of the EVGA PSUs and see how that goes. If it doesn't solve the issue, then I can ensure Zotac that the GPU is the issue and should be able to get an RMA. Thanks guys

Nope the CPU is stock still, however I think the issue is my 24pin. After my PC crashed the other day, it wouldn't turn back on until I wiggled the 24pin and somehow that fixed it and I haven't had the issue since. Don't know how/why that solves it though

Oh no, nothing appears in there

Nope, infact I just underclocked it and it just happened again

What do you mean exactly by detected as removable?

Hi there, Lately I've been having some issues with my 1060... At random times throughout using my PC, whether it be during intense gaming or idling at my desktop, all of a sudden my screens will go black, the GPU fan will ramp up ridiculously, and I have to hard restart my PC to get it back to normal. This is what I've done so far: - I've re-seated my motherboard 8-pin, GPU 6-pin and the modular connectors on the PSU, ensuring it's all a snug fit. - Uninstalled my GPU driver using DDU, and re-installed the latest one. So what I've concluded is that it is either a PSU or GPU issue, however I have no way of testing the GPU outside of my PC so I cannot be sure. I have a Corsair CX600M PSU, which should be more than enough wattage for my PC (I'll leave the specs at the bottom of the post), and I've not had any issue when I had my 660 before I upgraded so I doubt it is the PSU. Another point to note that is every so often when it happens, I hear the Windows "disconnected" alert that sounds usually when you disconnect a USB drive, which made me thing is was a software issue but after reinstalling the drivers, I doubt it is. There is no guaranteed time that the issue will happen either which makes it extremely hard to test any possible solutions - as I'm writing this on my laptop it has literally just happened whilst idling at the desktop, so any solutions make take a while to test. Is there anything you suggest I should do before I contact Zotac for a replacement card? Many thanks, Nathan PC Specs: i7 4790k 16GB ram ASRock Z97M Pro4 Zotact AMP! 1060 6GB Corsair CX600M

Razer Blade please, can stand out among the crowd of Macbooks that are inevitably going to be flooding lecture halls when I start my first year of Uni soon!

Yeah its a three pin. I understand what you're saying, but all my other fans (apart from 1 cpu fan) are all 3 pin and can be controlled through the UEFI or programs, I guess it just alters the voltage. That's why I don't understand why this one fan wont work

I've got the ASRock Z97m Pro4 motherboard currently, with 4 fans in my case; 2 on the CPU cooler, connected to CPU fan 1 and 2 2 on the case, connected to chasis fan 1 and 2 CPU fans 1 and 2 can be controlled via the UEFI and programs on my PC, and so can chassis fan 2. However for some reason, chassis fan 1 can't be controlled no matter what I try, and it's running at ~75% so it's annoyingly loud... Anyone know of any solutions? I do own a fan controller, but it's cheap and tacky, and makes the case look a mess with the cables stretching out everywhere Thanks Nathan

Just looked at some reviews, I might just go for the Zotac card. Good price, performs nearly on par with a 980 and better cooling with the fans - thanks for the help guys

It was more down to the cost saving, but in saying that, I've found the AMP Zotac model for £245 with free shipping, that seems a steal! http://www.ebuyer.com/752927-zotac-geforce-gtx-1060-6gb-graphics-card-ebuyer-com-zt-p10600b-10m What do you think?
