  1. looked locally, they are around 60~ used so at that point, new doesnt look to bad
  2. Hey LTT, Question for yall that is super simple - Should I get more ram? Currently, I have an old but solid build with an i7-2600k @ OC'd to 4.4ghz, p8z68-v pro and a solid 8gb of G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB ram. Since I have two slots still open and have been seeing my ram being used to almost 95% on task manager, I was thinking I should maybe max out my mobo by adding another 8gb. Newegg has them for 66$ CAD - https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428 What do you think? My usage includes gaming (old and new fps including the daunting bfv) and creative applications like Lightroom and Photoshop. Is it worth it?
  3. Yeah, that's what I've heard but idk anything that looks as sleek and clean as a blade. looking at hopefully 6 to 8 hrs of battery life minimum. Weight would be anything from 4 to 6 lbs. As long as its beefy enough to run Lightroom and Photoshop and will last me 3 to 4 years minimum, I'm pretty open but has to be sleek looking lol. One thing would be cost, which hoping for under 2500 pre-tax.
  4. LTT FORUM I NEED ADVICE! I've been trying to figure out if I should buy the new razer blade 15 as my on the go editing and casual gaming rig. I have a custom built PC at home so the hardcore stuff I do on that and prefer it. The current dilemma I wanted LTT's insight on was people's personal thoughts on the 1060 256gb RB15 @ 60hz for photo editing via lightroom and photoshop. I am a PC guy so MacBooks, though they are usually better for creative work, aren't really my cup of tea. Would fellow photographers/videographers recommend the RAZER BLADE or specifically the RB15 60hz 1060 version? Has it made a different for yall? Gaming isn't the biggest concern on my end but build quality and solid specs are. I prefer not to get the 1070 cuz of the battery as well as heat issues. Don't really need that extra juice in a laptop. Also, I know Razer store is garbage for customer service from what I have read online, so I will be buying from the Microsoft Store and be getting their warranty. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER PHOTO EDITING RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LET ME KNOW. I want something thin, light but has the relative hardware to run Lightroom and Photoshop well. Gaming isn't a primary concern but for example, something like WoW or Fortnite under low-med settings would be awesome. 5. Sup FORUM, need some help - I am in the market for some new cables for my ie80s. I am honestly tired of my Sennheiser cables failing. I am on my third set since I bought the headphones. I don't want to order from the company again because of its way to expensive and the cables end up dying every single time! Does anyone have any suggestions for new cables that they have used personally? I love using the ie80s but am stuck with one ear working and another failing. Any help would be super helpful. If any of you have faced the same thing, let me know what you ended up doing about it. My warranty has been expired for years now.
  6. Have any of you looked into whats offered on Massdrop? Specifically the Massdrop CTH + SDAC DAC/Amp or the Massdrop Liquid Carbon X + SDAC DAC/Amp? I have been reading more and more about O2 and Schitt and it seems they aren't the best options. Realistically speaking I'm not going to crazy in terms of upgrades. I don't think ill become a crazy enthusiast. Also, what is there in terms of using a setup for both headphones and speakers? I currently am using the Bose Companion 2s and wanted to know if there was an under 400 option that could connect these in. This thread got very very technically which is making it hard for me to understand what to do. If yall can simplify your thoughts I would probably understand more. thanks for the advice and yeah the ordering from the US already has me stressed cuz of exchange rates.
  7. Hello there, I know this topic might be redundant but I have been immensely confused reading different threads on Amps/Dacs. I am completely new to the whole audiophile equipment world and need some recommendations. I have the Massdrop 6XX and wanted to buy an amp/DAC to run it. I tried connecting it to my current speakers (Bose Companion 2s) and my computer but it doesn't get loud enough and the sound quality doesn't seem right. What would be a great starter amp and DAC that would come in around $300-400 CAD. I have saw posts about Schitt MAGNI 3 and MODI 2. Someone also wrote about Objective 2 and STANDALONE ODAC from JLabs. This is for my desktop setup! Thanks for the help!!!
  8. thank you i have created a new one in the correct tag

  11. Keep a look out for the ASUS vs247 lcd monitors. I was in the same position as you where i wanted to get two monitors for under 150. This one came on sale for 139.99 at Canadacomputers. I believe in one month its black friday so be ready because the sales are gonna be intense
  12. Costco has the WB ultra 1TB for $79.99. Both my dad and sister use them for storage and they are pretty reliable. I personally have an internal WB cavier Blue 1TB and a External 3TB. The external one has taken a few hits but the speed and reliability has been fine. Might want to take a look at them.
  13. if you were in Canada, there was a sale on NCIX.com where i got a EVGA 780 classified for 350. keep looking there because the 780s are going on sale quite often
