  1. If I do that, I will loose potential business Never used a curved monitor before. I guess the 34" is better as I can zoom out of a word/pdf document and it still appears as one a4 page and I can read due to the size.
  2. Clients come to the office and I duplicate one of the screens. Webcam will not work. I hate having themselves comes into my workspace. I see. So I guess it's more like the xiaomi 34"ultrawide + one monitor then.
  3. I am currently using 2x27" dell ultrasharp monitors (2713H & 2715HM) at 1440p + 1x1080p 24" monitor for clients facing away from me which I can move to my side if I need extra space. The 2x27 are on a monitor stand side by side and Iooking straight to the bezel. I have been using multi monitor setup since 2007, started with laptop, migrated to two 24" before settling to 2"27" in 2015. I noticed that sitting in the centre is not really ideal position and I will migrate to one monitor sitting at a of centre position on my 5x2 foot table. 95% of the time, I use Microsoft office. The other 5% are photoshop, 3d software and premier pro/rush. I also use 3 to 4 Windows most of the time clipped to the edges. So 1 27" screen will have two windows opened. Word, pdf, mendeley, Web browser. I also use webex, zoom, teams and need to use attend/give talks online. I need to upgrade my setup as having half of the monitor with word while working, is not really ideal as I make word 3/4 of the screen just to see all the ribbons on top. If I enlarge word completely, then I loose 4 working spaces for 3 spaces. If I read pdf, I tend to rotate the monitor vertically just to see the entire of the pdf. On a 27" I also saw this, but still not sure which setup yet. Now, which kind of setup will work well for office use? 1. 1 huge 4k monitor so that I can have compartment for all windows? Bigger screen, means I can compartments more, thought I am not sure if I will use the top left and right since this is far from my vision. I will populate these regions with rainlendar calendar and icons or whatever I rarely use. Will pair this with a 1080p monitor for webex/ppt scaling and sharing desktop. Technically more than 4 working areas, though not sure on what is the best size for this monitor. How big should it be? Kind of like having two ultrawides stacked on top of each other? 2. 49" ultrawide replacing 2x27" monitor... But I will loose the vertical aspect ratio when I need to read documents. I have 4 working areas. 3. 34" 21:9 (3/4 of the 49" ultrawide) + one monitor on top of the ultrawide. I can technically view portrait documents but with a bezel in between. The 2nd monitor will be used for webex and ppt when necessary. Also 4 working areas. Will need another monitor for webex/ppt thing. 4. 16:18 aspect ratio. Either 2x27 on top or LG Dualup monitor. Will also pair with a 16:9 monitor for the webex/ppt thing. The 16:9 by default will be vertically oriented as the LG is already tall. I also used this website to calculate the screens, but still not sure on the setup. So, which one and why? Can share your experience?
  4. Is it possible for LTT to revisit this video? Just wanted to know the current state of PC gaming, which I think is better now. I just bought a used 3060TI for 245USD and I think using last gen RAM, CPU, Motherboard (new or used) products can get you a great gaming PC now. Lots of bargains for DDR4, AM4 and when playing on a 1080p TV (not everyone can afford/have room to put a 4k 70"+ TV in their house), at a distance, it should be great.
  5. My pc and tv are situated on opposite sites in the house. Using a tp link mesh WiFi E4 to connect between it. The mesh WiFi node is almost 100% strength from the original mesh. Connection between the mesh and my pc is strong. Few years ago, I did try remote play with it but the experience was bad. Ok for slow paced games. Does not work for games require quick inputs. That was using a smart TV with steam app in it. Smart TV gone, now with a normal TV and 3rd gen Google chromecast attached. Possible to get good gaming experience with WiFi 6 and remote play?
  6. Yes. This is the PSU. What GPU are you pairing this with? What gpu was that?
  7. Corsair cx650m IIRC. It has not been in used since 2021.
  8. Forgot to ask, is it safe if I continue to use the original PSU?
  9. My old system was a i7-4770k (bought used after i5 4310?) on a H87 Asrock matx motherboard. With some value ram I guess with the a CM 650 PSU silver build in 2013. The i7 bought in 2018 quite cheap. The SSD, case has been recycled to my ryzen 5 work office. If I just buy a 6600XT, case and SSD. I guess that should be enough for 1080p gaming? Should I upgrade the motherboard, ram and PSU? A Biostar Z87 need motherboard is around a B550 motherboard. All current parts were working before I upgraded, but I think the motherboard and PSU may need to be replaced as it is almost a 9 years now even though it has been in stowage since 2021. Not sure what is the refresh rate of my Haier 43" smart TV. The most demanding game I have is the Tomb raider collection, Batman collection and Dirt games. The bulk of my games are all lego games since I play with my SO. Will place the pc behind the TV.
  10. I am not sure if I missed the video, but I would like to see it. Does anyone know if the video has been released yet?
  11. Yes. I know Windows Continuum failed and x86 requirements are bigger. Years ago GPD Win/Aya Neo/Steam Deck sized hardware/performance did not exists. Not phone size yet, but within tablet size now. USB C solves a lot of problem without needed multiple ports. I am playing Dirt on my Note 9 with a xbox game controller with the phone on a dock
  12. I have a Samsung Note 9 which I ocassionaly use dock on Dex. Samsung Dex is useful for getting work done, only pity doesn't come with full Windows OS. Microsoft has Game Pass, Xbox. I use it most of the time for powerpoint presentations, hooking it up to the TV/projector since I don't want to bring my laptop just to give a presentation. I prefer bringing my Note 9 rather than my laptop in most situations. Windows phone can fold, has office apps, but uses android, and some windows software cannot run on android. I like Office for android, but SPSS, Endnote and Adobe suite are not on android or as good on android compared to windows. Portable gaming on Windows like the Aya Neo exists. Microsoft has Xbox, Game Pass and Onedrive so transitioning between gaming and work should be seemless. Or maybe Microsoft is making something in future? Windows phone running full microsoft software?
  13. Sorry. When I mentioned I used a GTX780 6gb, I meant not for gaming/work. am waiting for crypto to crash so that I can get a new GPU at reasonable price. Unprofitable for the miners. The only reason this card last so long is due to the VRAM. Adobe Premier CC still works well despite this card I think should be below the minimum specs. Of course my render time is a bit slow, but I can do other items with 32gb of ram. Waiting for 3060(ti) 12 gb to be cheap so I can upgrade to that.
  14. I noticed that all cryptocurrency seems to be crashing. How low is does it need to go so that the cost of mining outweighs the returns? GPUs are available now but prices in my market is still about 2x RRP. Will we ever see cheaper cards or will sellers just keep selling it at their high prices?
  15. The last monitor (U2713hm) does not have that setting. The second monitor has. When I enable it, the whole screen disappears. Now I cannot connect to it via dp. Had to change to hdmi input and it worked. I'll use separate cables for it then
  16. Hi, I am trying to daisychain from my dell g3 15 3590 laptop to a Dell U2715h monitor via USB c to display port. From here the monitor goes out to a Dell U2713hm monitor via dp port on the U2715h. Effectively I have 3 monitors. However, Windows 10 Enterprise only detects the laptop and one other screen. The displays on the 2713hm is duplicate of the 2715h. The laptop has a 1650 card in it. Any ideas why it doesn't work and how to make it work?
  17. Thanks. But I want it in portrait mode. I need to configure the TV somehow to display it longitudinally rather than horizontal
  18. I have a problem integrating new digital equipment into a very old setup. Old setup all analogue. I am using two Oneplus 8T phones for video recording in portrait mode with USB C > HDMI cable to a HDMI to BNC converter. Previously this was a analogue CCTV camera with BNC output. The signal is then transferred to a Panasonic AG-MX70 video mixer which then sends the oup`uts via 1. BNC to VHS > CRT TV and 2. BNC>BNC converter to PC then to monitor. Both PC monitor and CRT output the same thing. Previously, the VHS did the recording, though this is not needed now. The PC with a Only that I think the cable is damaged, since I can pull the wire directly from the mixer to the TV. It has to go to VHS and Line 1 to TV. Output from the TV now is vertical (black bars). I was thinking of changing the CRT to a LCD monitor mounted vertically. Only problem is, the image will still appear vertical on a LCD monitor in portrait mode. If this was windows computer, I could just set the image vertical and be done. But even if I don't rely on the CRT and make the image vertical on the computer screen, the converter to computer is a VHS capture device still displays a box like image. Attached. Any ideas to fix this?
  19. With the pandemic still at large and still working from home, I brought my office pc since it has faster than my laptop. Since the pc is far away from the mesh Wi-Fi, I have changed the Wi-Fi and now get good results. I place my phone on the exact same spot and run the speed test app. My Internet speed is 100 mb dl/50 mb up. Without connecting the USB cable, I get almost that speed. The moment I put the USB c cable into the galaxy s8, the speed drops to 50+ mb dl/22 mb up. Weirdly the pc is not even on. I just decided to do the test without the pc on. The phone is still at the same place. I have been using a spare galaxy s8 since the pandemic began as a usb tethered to my pc to get the WiFi connection. Only lately I noticed the slower speed. My work requires me to upload and download a lot of data. Make tutorial videos and upload them to YouTube. Almost maxed out the 1 tb onedrive enterprise account. I have a tp-link usb WiFi dongle that looks like the logitech mouse dongle but that is giving me even slower speeds like 18 mb dl/8mb up. Maybe it is too far on the dell monitor or behind the wooden desk if on the pc. The pc is behind the desk and I attached a USB c cable and put the s8 on the table next to me. The mesh wifi is situated behind me if I am sitting facing the pc. Any ideas why this is happening and how to solve it? Will a dedicated WiFi hardware work? Or is my USB cable faulty? Or is there a difference between USB 2 and 3 front port? Currently getting high speeds on the USB 2 port since the USB 3 port is not stable. My pc specs: R5 3600 Gigabyte b550m 32 gb ram GTX780 6gb 2 tb ssd.
