  1. On a somewhat related note to GPU pricing, I have a question for the labs team and I guess also our favorite CVO. Will the labs' data on GPU performance also include a performance per watt metric? While I do understand that such metrics are difficult to exactly represent, having a measurement of power draw for the test benches during MarkBench runs would be great. Many places around the globe unfortunately live nowhere near BC-Hydro and can't get almost free electricity like LMG, while in some cases it may still result in acceptable energy prices, many parts of the world have seen energy prices soar over the last 18 months. For me and my buddies in the EU, the prices which already weren't too great have started to make us question whether we would really like to buy the latest and greatest GPUs because of power consumption concerns. I foresee a future in which I could target a performance range within which I could then choose the most efficient card. While for some people this might not be super useful or important, I would really like to go back in power draw but I am unsure how the manufacturer TDP and performance claims compare to real world usage. I hope something like this either already is or could be added on the roadmap for MarkBench :)
  2. Check if DVR is on in the Xbox App. It's a known problem and is sticky'd in the Steam Discussion thread for CSGO. (http://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/350542145703363730/)
  3. The perfect beamer for movies on the outside wall of a house in the summer 10/10 would buy
  4. Being you, I'd probably wait to have more money and get a new CPU+MoBo combo at once and upgrade the GPU later, while making sure you stay on DDR3 so that you don't need to buy new RAM. From personal experience, I know that going AMD CPU or Intel i5 does not make a great difference on performance/dollar (if counting FX8350 vs i5 3570k), because the prices of MoBo and CPU just balance out. The big difference however will be in heat output and thus of course power consumption, which you might want to keep in mind, for either eco-friendliness or electricity prices. For that first upgrade (CPU + MoBo) you should be spending ~400EUR / ~450USD / ~350GBP / ~1.000.000CAR (CAnadian Rupees) Hope this helps
  5. If I had to bet, there would be something like the the WiiMote in combination with some other control method. Maybe something to do with VR or AR? <- I wouldn't expect it knowing Nintendo and the hardware they have used, but saying that the thing will be more expensive than previous Nintendo gaming consoles... You never know, they surprised everyone with the WiiMote All I can hope for is either support for the standard gamepad style controller or a relevant replacement for it, because some games just need the standard controller. Also if they do anything ineresting with the control method (HTC Vive position tracking in a room style of controller) I hope they will have enough devs pushing the tech right from the start because otherwise we'll be stuck with the standard Nintendo demos and minigames like at the launch of the Wii. I guess I'll quote @ivan134... "I'll wait and see."
  6. I have a G27 and it's pretty good, and I honestly think you should go for it instead of the G29/G920 'cause of the price difference, and I don't think the difference in software will be that high so might as well save a 100 bucks by choosing the G27 (not to mention that the shifter is included with the G27 and not with the G29/G920). Other than that I had the occasion to try out the T300 in a gameshop and it was enjoyable as well but I don't know what the PC software is like and how well it is in the long run. Try looking at forums like iRacing, they have generally very good advice and seeing how dedicated they are I would definitely trust their advice.
  7. Don't worry they've beta tested long enough with XB360, XBone, PS3 and PS4 . And they probably delayed it 2-3 times to optimize as well unlike Ubisoft.
  8. No you won't have any problems I had to this a while ago for another big game (Max Payne 3 I believe) and it worked just the same as other games installed in the default steamapps folder.
  9. Sure if you pay for the shipping costs
  10. Yes I am indeed on Gigabit, if you look again you can see a screen of steam downloading
  11. Look above your post, I added a picture to my post. And also I feel sorry for you I used to have crappy internet
  12. Thanks buddy I just started preloading thanks to you 15min remaining.
  13. You are right I'm not American Yes, I agree America has bigger streets that allow for these bigger cars to fit on the road, but I still don't see why someone would need a Lamborghini to get up to speed for the highway. I understand you have big distances and so do we in Europe for some places, but the getting up to speed part is not different in Europe. Not to mention that even a VW Golf (Rabbit) with a 4 cyl. 2L turbo engine (~150-160 HP) is pretty fast and has good acceleration, you don't need to make every "on-ramp" a drag strip, you don't need a Nissan GTR or a Bugatti Veyron to get up to speed for the highway. In Germany, the Autobahns (the highway, where in some places there is no speed limit) the getting up to speed part is indeed critical, and it is also the only public road where getting some speed is possible and legal. Still, after having done about 240km/h (~150mph) with a rental SLK 200k (4 cyl. 2.3L compressor) and having seen how much of a beast this machine was, I don't understand the desire to buy into much bigger much louder/faster cars. Of course yes there are always people who have a desire for the extreme, hence Koenigsegg and... this ridiculous Ford F650 mod at SEMA And having the cars be not so thirsty, well I imagine that between the 1970's and now the fuel economy of V8 has gone up, but that's not that hard x) Also I imagine that car manufacturer also want to have cars that can be sold (governmental restrictions for fuel economy/ emissions). Little point about fuel consumption, when I was talking about thirsty cars I was talking about the more extreme ones, like the corvette, the viper, the hellcat, and the european drinkers: lambo, ferrarri, AMG mercs, Porsche and others. Because I don't consider a consumption of more than 8 liters per 100km to be acceptable for a modern car. (8L/100km =~ 30MPG, so less than 30MPG is not good by modern standards)
  14. I have been driven around by my uncle in a 2012 Mercedes CLS 500 and I must say the engine despite being a huge 5L V8 does not sound very loud, it sounds like a V8 sure, but it's far from being something I would call an amplified engine sound. Certainly not after having been inside a 2013 Mercedes E-class 320CDI (3.2L I6 diesel) which was completely silent most of the time and you could hear a tiny bit of engine noise that didn't sound great when reving. I absolutely don't understand, why you would want a more "powerful sound" in your car... Even having a powerful car, if you do not enjoy a track-day every once in a while, it does not make any sense... I have driven a VW Polo, the one with the 1L, 3 cylinder engine, it's brilliant, it masterpiece of a car, it's near silent, it has amazing gas mileage, and you know what you can overtake trucks on roads without problems best part is that it has 60HP, it sure is nothing but why would you need more than that on public roads? Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mustang, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Viper, Corvette, Mercedes AMG, and all the other big engined "sports" cars don't make any sense... Yes they are beautiful, yes they are meant for the people that have too much money (just so they have something to spend their money on), and also yes they are great on a track day, but why do we see so f-ing much of those in the London city center, in Monaco, in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris where there aren't any advantages to owning such a wide, unpractical and very thirsty cars... /rant Sorry even as I enjoy big and powerful cars because... well they exist it still bothers me... AND, I hope someone here agrees with me that we would be better off without these (and the idiotic Dubai people that buy them of course, no offense but really, a Golf course in the middle of the desert... Best f-ing way to preserve the planet)
  15. ^ This is a good point But also the only step down of Gigabit is 100Mbits so... choose a third of your speed or full speed + some extra bandwidth for your home network
