  1. I was thinking about getting one of those actually. What I might do is get a second desk for the tower and paperwork, then I'd be able to fit a deskpad like that quite nicely.
  2. I suck anyway, I tend to use about the same sensitivity as BF4 just because it doesn't involve running with the mouse to turn around
  3. Hey guys I was looking for a mouse pad to go with my Razer Deathadder 2013, but I'm not sure whether to get a hard plastic one or a cloth pad. I mostly play Battlefield 4, and I play some CS:GO as well. I know the Steelseries QCK is very highly regarded, but I can't find it in a size small enough to fit on my desk (I know that the Corsair MM200C fits). So: plastic or cloth?
  4. I believe my highscore is 22. I only really tend to play it when I want to rage at awful hitboxes
  5. Those HDD mounts really aren't my thing - a rail would just be so much easier and they'd share the load better as well
  6. I won't be using an SSD - I'll be using the HDD as the boot drive. My friend simply can't afford to buy an SSD yet.
  7. Thinking about it, putting a hard drive round the back means it won't be cooled at all. I've seen hard drives (ok they were ATA) get fairly warm before. To be honest, I don't think the added cost is worth the extra airflow in this case. I need to cut costs as much as I can, and personally I don't think my friend is going to notice a difference in temps.
  8. Hey guys I'm helping a friend of mine to build his first (budget) gaming PC. I was going to use a £45 (about $60 I think) 3.5" WD Blue 1TB drive, but this would of course require the use of the 3.5" cage. The case we'll be using is the Fractal Arc Mini R2, which has a pair of 2.5" mounts behind the motherboard tray. This lead me to wonder: would it be better to use a 2.5" HDD and mount it there? It would mean I can remove both 3.5" cages for better airflow. Are there any cons to using 2.5" drives? The 2.5" mounts don't have anti-vibration grommets - will this be a problem? Thanks FullNuclearBreakfast Also sorry for the wordy OP
  9. The biggest benefit of using isopropyl over acetone or something is that isopropyl has such a high alcohol content that it evaporates very quickly, so it's not a disaster if you spill it a bit. You also won't have to dry your CPU afterwards. You can pick up bottles of isopropyl for a few quid over on Amazon.
  10. Matimi0's Mind Games series should be very helpful once you start getting into the game a bit more =)Also, it is extremely important that you disable mouse acceleration - trying to aim with it on is like trying to aim with a steering wheel. Seriously, I instantly got better at CS:GO when I disabled it. One last thing: learn the recoil patterns of your favourite guns, and get used to controlling their vertical recoil, either in the testing range or an empty server.
  11. Where I'm looking, a 680 is over twice the price of the 760 =3 And I suppose I could stretch to a 770. I'd have to work for a little longer before I build, but that should be worth the extra performance. Also, I think my maximum budget for a CPU is about £100, but then I would almost definitely have to get a cheaper graphics card.
  12. I was looking to use the AMD Athlon II X4 750K in my next build, along with a fairly high end GPU - I was thinking the Nvidia GTX760. However, I wasn't sure if using these together would cause any GPU throttling. Will there be a throttling issue? If so, are there any CPUs or GPUs I could use where this wouldn't be an issue? Thanks =)
  13. All the bitcoin/litecoin miners have been buying the 290s for their compute power, which has made the 290s scarce and forced prices up. If you want a new graphics card before you die, get the 770.
  14. Isn't an idle temp of 50-60 degrees fine? I mean, that's a badass cooler but I wouldn't start worrying until about 80 degrees at load
  15. A 4-way bridge should do it - don't know if one comes with the Impact but they should be pretty cheap to pick up
