  1. I've got no method to contact them, BUT out of curiosity, is it Overclocked? I had a friend get a bad build from them, and I believe it was ultimately a bad overclock. Their building has more stable power than he did, so when he ran it, it would be unstable. You can try disabling overclocks if it is and see if that improves anything.
  2. They used to have a pretty extensive security system, with object tracking and all (old video linked below). I don't think there's been an update posted, but we know Linus tends to keep data a long time. Chances are if they retain security camera footage for any long-term spans, they may have caught something. Facial recognition can cut down on the search time or using any emails/complaint records would let them find exactly what happened. Depending on how extensive their security setup is. Even in the video below, the full capabilities were never showcased, just that the system had some really neat abilities.
  3. Except he did this last time. The whole community is watching. Everything they do will be scrutinized. It's not a long video. If this were Google's fault, be could be honest, unprivate it, and we see Google tell us it's not ready. Given the way things transpired last time, Linus's statements last time, I'm not inclined to see this as anything but "pay us to see if we're going to improve." ---- And now I see people talking about wan show. Imo, unless Linus shows his screen to confirm.. I'm gonna have my doubts.
  4. YouTube taking an hour to process the video? I'm gonna do with this being intentional.
  5. Not always. They've done simultaneously before due to deadlines, embargoes, or sponsor obligations.
  6. That's not a good look. It's an important video, and their attitude is still monetization first. I don't think they should've gone FP first on this one.
  7. I think they could do a Wan show, BUT they'd need to keep Linus off it. I think Terren and Luke could work for a shower. I think maybe Alex could go on. Someone really calm about the whole issue. HOWEVER, I think if they do a show, they're going to have to make a statement, an update, SOMETHING about where things stand. It doesn't need to be big. I think they could say "we've had the outside investigators in to begin the investigation on Madison's allegations. We can't name the agency at this time, but we will when the final report is ready. They have total authority to speak with and ask anyone, anything." *Hold up some signed contract about it*. And then tell us about production stuff, then onto other WAN show topics.
  8. I'm in the "I'm just really curious" camp. It's a defining moment for the company I think, sink or swim, so whatever they do's gonna be important.
  9. They posted the video last week on the 16th. It's been a week. Would be nice if they'd put out an update on where things stand (at least I've not seen anything, not on Youtube or twitter for an update). I tend to think their issues will take more than a week to fix, BUT at the same time they can't stand still forever. If they do an update, people will want to hear about Madison. But that's also another can of worms they're probably not ready to open just yet. I imagine if they get rolling again, we might see a video mid to late this week.
  10. Origin restricted UPS from allowing me to: Schedule the delivery Have the delivery held for pickup Sign in advance for the delivery Have the delivery diverted to a local UPS store Requesting a second delivery attempt in the same day When I contacted UPS, per standard procedure, UPS is not supposed to alter anything restricted by the shipper. It was on Origin to reach out to UPS and either allow me to pick up the shipment at the UPS Depot, pick up the shipment at a UPS Store, or allow me to schedule the delivery within a 2 hour window (UPS charges the recipient for this, but I'd be fine with that). So, what ends up happening is, I contact UPS, UPS says "sorry, the shipper has restricted your options, contact the shipper." I contact the shipper, Origin, and origin says "sorry, UPS has your machine. We can't do anything." Which isn't really true. For more established companies, they usually have a contact with UPS who can escalate and resolve issues. And for smaller companies, you can issue an update on a shipment to change the options you've sent it with. You can even update the address of a package after UPS has it, as the shipper. They charge the shipper I think $20 for it, but it was an option. There were things Origin could have done, but opted not to do. My initial request was to reroute the shipment to a UPS Office in town. It'd be held for pick up. This is 100% an option for Origin, except for unspecified "problems." And the thing is, they've got that nice, big "24/7 lifetime support" on their side. Is "Sorry bro, UPS is your problem" really an acceptable answer? Their terms of service say they are not responsible for hte machine once they ship it, but then they give you almost no option to get the machine except to take off from your job multiple days in a row to wait on it. It's not a bad shipping service, it's that Origin blocked every single option I had to get the machine. The only reason it's here now is because UPS explicitly over-rode Origin's shipping and just dropped the box here after 4 days of me opening tickets, complaining, calling, and finally getting someone inside UPS to go rogue and take action. I think technically speaking, UPS was not supposed to do what they did. At any time, Origin could have amended the shipping restrictions, but they didn't. If my being a thorn in the local shipping management could get the job done, then Origin could've made as much progress in 5 minutes instead of my hours of complaints. The mention of a refund started with me in a prior part of the ticket. I entirely expected the delivery attempts to continue to fail, after which the machine would return to Origin. I was aiming to get out ahead of things, as Origin charges 15% on returns, likely even if they failed to make the delivery. I was expecting to have a lengthy argument about getting my last 15% back. Now that it is here.. There was a loose screw free floating in the case, one of the PSU wires has rubbed against the case and worn down (but luckily not through), and Origin tech support left me on hold for 30 minutes before hanging up on me. I called for help on how to get the hard drive cages out, so I could plugin sata power at the PSU. I'd asked them to pre-wire sata power and data, but that didn't happen and I cannot figure out how to get the PSU or HDD cage out without disconnecting every power cable... and then having a hell of a time getting them back in. It is wedged in tight. The cage has multiple install positions, the position to the left would've given me much more room. The biggest blame on UPS is their drivers don't knock. At least mine never have. Their hands were tied at the start and ultimately they broke the rules to make the delivery. I don't expect any positive results from future warranty service. It'll be a repeat of the same song and dance to get my machine back. More unanswered calls. Dead silent and uncaring support.
  11. I'll update the complaint about Origin: the machine's here and Origin had nothing to do with it. I badgered UPS to the point that the regional supervisor put an override on my shipment. It got scheduled for an Early AM delivery, signature removed (I managed to catch the driver). Origin confirms this with: I'm very disappointed that LTT took a sponsorship from these guys. Yea, I got the machine, but I think I had to put in 20 hours of work just to get it, between sitting outside for two days twiddling my thumbs and numerous calls and messages with UPS to get this thing here. I've got documented proof of the lock-outs on my package via UPS's site. I couldn't have it held at a UPS Store, Held for pickup, schedule a deliver time, authorize release without signature, or anything else. I don't imagine Origin's going to take any moves to make it right with me. I need to unbox the thing yet and see if it's actually the build I ordered. The way this circus has gone, I don't even expect my machine to be in the crate. I'm going to video the whole process just in case it's the wrong build.
  12. Shipping is 100% on them. Normally, UPS would allowed me to hold the package at a UPS Store. So, they fail to deliver, I go pick it up later. Easy. This package was sent with everything restricted. I cannot schedule its delivery, I cannot have it held at the UPS office. I have called UPS, I talked to them at the UPS store, I've done their web chat. I contacted Origin, they refused to do anything, including contact UPS to have it held at the local UPS Store so I could pick it up. Today UPS made a 2nd delivery attempt and the package wasn't on the truck. Updated my ticket with Origin. I told them at this point to just get the refund process started. The only reason to buy prebuilt is for the warranty and support, and what I've gotten thus far is garbage. If I ever have to RMA this thing, they won't have any support for me. They couldn't get it to me the first time around, what odds do I have that they'd get it back to me? The total apathy to modify the shipment or do something on their end is inexcusable.
  13. I have had such a god-awful time with Origin. I've had garbage support trying to get the damn thing and I can't imagine what it'll be like trying to get actual support if I ever receive it. First they had issues getting payment from my card, couldn't help me figure out why the card was having issues (single transaction limit). Had to move to paypal, which meant cancelling the order and starting fresh. Finally things going well, it ships. I take the day off to be here for it. Scheduled for 3-6 delivery. They're here at 10 in the morning. I can't sign for it. I try to have it held at the UPS Store. Can't. I call Origin, "sorry, once it's out the doors it's your problem. We're not affiliated with UPS." What garbage is this? I don't think I'll actually be able to pick it up. The UPS guy never knocks, he just walks up to put the sticker on the door and runs. The only way to actually receive something is to sit out and wait for it. Usually that at least works for the "it'll be here between" window, but I can't be out from dawn til' dusk to wait on this thing and.. I can't just have it held or even schedule WHEN it'll get here (Origin even locked out THAT option, a scheduled delivery time).
  14. I don't think this one's likely to happen. Wyrmwood is currently mired in a scandal/controversy over sexual assault and related things. They've been getting dropped by a lot of places.
  15. I'm rather disappointed to see LTT working with Volta again. They've taken to using their Indiegogo page to spam backers. It looks like potentially the only way to turn off that spam is to disable IGG emails on campaign updates, there is no unsubscribe link: And if their IGG page is any indication, they continue to fail to deliver for everyone, or ship failed units: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/giga-the-ultimate-universal-gan-charger/x/548182#/discussion There's a post from five weeks ago, a guy with Contribution ID 1053 that's not got his order. They're into the 4000s. When this issue first popped up, LTT said they'd not work with Volta until the issues were all resolved. I did eventually get my charger, but it looks like Volta themselves remain a very bad company.
