  1. I am looking for the same kind of laptop. Almost bought the aero 15 oled but the screen review on notebookcheck was dissapointing. So now I'm looking for something similar, but without an oled pannel. Please update the post if you lean towards some model.
  2. I will look into it and see if I can find a review, thanks. Does anyone have any other options to consider?
  3. Hi, I'm looking for a laptop for video and photo editing. I'm starting a masters degree in color grading for video. I live in Argentina but I'll be buying this laptop from Amazon US or Hidevolution so better if it can have international warranty and the brand is available in my country (gigabyte, asus, dell, apple, lenovo, hp, etc / not razer, not clevo). The laptop will be used for editing 4K files in Premiere, Da Vinci Resolve, After Effects and some Lightroom/photoshop. Specs I am looking for: Best CPU possible. At least 16gb of ram, 32 will be better, At least 512gb ss, 1tb prefered. GPU with good amount of CUDA cores, like RTX 2060 or 2070maxQ. Best Color Accurate Screen possible with delta E < 2 at least 100% sRGB, 90% aRGB and 1000:1 contrast ratio or higher. (This is the most important feature for me) Budget: Up to 2400 usd. Battery life: 4/6 hours of editing is ok. The higher, the better. Prefered size: 15" it's ok, I also don't mind 17". Prefered weight: I don't mind for it to be a little bit heavy, but it needs to be portable so it can be carried on my bag with the camera, lenses, and other stuff. I will NOT use the laptop for gaming. I was going to buy the AERO 15 4K OLED laptop I was concerned a little bit about burn but when I read the review on notebookchek and the screen left some things to be desired for professional work despite the x-rite certification. I am still in love with that contrast ratio thought. Is there a better option out there?
  4. Zenbook Pro UX550GE. It has some thermal issues and soldered ram, but it's your best. However, as an audiophile I would suggest you to get some good headphones and speakers.
  5. That's an issue because I am from Argentina and will be buying the laptop from a site that imports things from amazon, ebay or walmart .If that wasn't a requirement I would buy a T480 or T580 with a 150MX, I didn't know they could be configured with the 150mx. I can compromise the webcam and microphone cause I can buy another one for conferences, it could be heavier than 3kg but not much (up to 4-5kg). dGPU: 150MX lvl is fine I think, more than that is just a bonus. However, if there are no good options I could live with iGPU I guess, I would prefer not to. The reliability level/build quality shouldn't be a "thinkpad one", just not something like Razer's Blade 14 (2016) level of unreliability.. What I can't compromise: The CPU must be able to handle video/photo editing, multi-tasking, etc... I think a 8550u might be good enough. Battery life should be at least 4/5 hours while working/browsing. The screen should be at least FHD IPS, a good screen. At least 512gb ssd, 16 gb ram.
  6. Which Zenbook? UX430 or 550VE (I dislike a little bit that the RAM is soldered). (I couldn't find the thinkpads with MX150 on Amazon). Are them better options (or at least more reliable) than the Aero or the XPS? If I compromise some of the requirements, what device would you suggest?
  7. ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331UN-WS51T Asus ZenBook Pro 14 UX480FD Asus ZenBook UX430UN-GV038T ASUS VivoBook S HP Spectre x360 Lenovo Ideapad 530S- And some others, I think almost any MX150 laptop available on Amazon US is on my budget. My budget is up to 2000 US dollars, are you sure there are no laptops that meet my requirements?, would you recomend another laptop if I go a little bit higher?
  8. Hi, I need a new laptop for work and I am starting an online marketing career. I am looking for a laptop that: Handles heavy excel files. Can do video/photo editing. So prefer a panel with good color accuracy and a good CPU. Can handle Casual gaming from time to time (games like: overwatch, cs go, dota, nothing AAA). Has good battery life (5/6+ hours working and browsing on it), as I work in a city 2 hours away from home and sometimes I will have to take my online course before coming back. It is somewhat portable (I will be carrying it everyday). It is well built: I don't need the device to feel ultra premium or be "really good looking". I just need it to be reliable and to have a good durability. It is silent while browsing, doing video conferences, or watching videos. Has a good webcam + microphone. My final exams will be on video conferences. Has an HDMI output port so I can plug it in easily to an external monitor. Specs: 512gb ssd, 16 gb ram, i7-H series (or would a U series CPU be enogh?), FHD IPS panel. Size: 15" or less. Weight: up to ~3kg . Budget: Would like to stay in the $1400-1700 range but can go up to $2000. I will be pucharsing it from Amazon US this month or early september. In my online research I was leaning towards the XPS 15, AERO 15 or ZenBook UX550VE. Which one would you choose and why?, or you would go for another laptop?
  9. I have wired Bose waterproof headphones that I use when I train. I don't like their sound too much but they don't fall and my sweat don't kill them. However, I have seen tons of possitive reviews about the Jaybird x3, being able to use the phone app to tune the equalizer is a nice option, so I would like to pucharse those in the near future.
  10. If he is not going to game... tell him to get de Dell Precision 5520.
  11. Everyone going to a "highschool" is going to a 3D "highschool" because we live in a 3D world.
  12. Shouldn't MSI GS63VR be on the guide?, IMO it's better than Asus GL502.
