Why do you think I choose res over refresh? 1440p just looks so much better than 1080p

Maybe it's just me but frankly I would prefer refresh rate over resolution. Different strokes for different folks, though, so I wouldn't blame you if resolution is a higher priority than refresh rate for you.

I would like to have both  I will first get that when 4k HDR 144Hz screens become cheaper and GPUs become better...

Oh yeah, powering those would be a demanding task for modern games. But look at the bright side, anti-aliasing might not be necessary.

even at 1440p I only use the lowest/second lowest AA, anything above that and the difference becomes very minimal. I don't think I would use any AA at 4k

For gameplay at 2160p/4k, I would see no real reason to use anti-aliasing.

Now for screenshots, that's a bit of a different matter.

I actually do like 16:10 but personally I have a preference to 16:9.

I mainly do so for the purposes of Team Fortress 2. Even then I get lazy.

the main reason why I like 16:10 the most is because I can have a couple of lines of extra code or something like that.

Can you really make TF2 look good?

I do find 16:10 a bit more practical for uses like that but I almost never find myself in that situation, so meh.

Team Fortress 2 in all fairness isn't a terrible looking game, especially since its art style works in favor of it the majority of the time. If you find the SCM viewmodels for the hands and characters, it makes a unusually noticeable difference. Couple that with 4x MSAA and it looks really clean if a bit dated. Sadly it just doesn't run all too well on my rig, but in all fairness I shouldn't have expected an FX-4100 to plow through it as good as even an Ivy Bridge-era Pentium.

damn that is an old CPU and not that powerful. Maybe time for an upgrade?

Oh yeah, I'm well due for an upgrade. But at the moment I have no money to blow on an upgrade. I might get a job over the summer so if that goes well I'll try getting either an R5 1600 or an R7 1700.

Ey I got a 7950, I do somewhat fine with a 7950 at 1440p, granted I don't play that demanding games...

yep. I just hope for a new awesome case to come on to the marked, if not then I am using a TT Core P5 I paid 30$ for, which is an open case.
