Apparently I've gotten a damn good overclocker. I can run mine at 16% extra (1098mhz~) for long enough to get completely bored of a single game. Like 4 hours straight of Battlefield 4 (1440p@Ultra&110%Supersampling) and the only problem I get is these odd white boxes that flash on and off every so often. It doesn't throttle, or get above my 90 degree temp target. I don't even have a waterblock on it yet. However aside from my apparent exceptional card, it seems like most overclockers are running at 1075mhz and 1350 on the memory.

I have a ducky with Browns, and I've typed many an essay on it. I absolutely love the feel and they're light enough to still feel great while gaming.

500 dollar budget for 1440p what should I do?
Mediarahan replied to Mcdoom's topic in Graphics Cards
I own a 290 and run at 1440p with a second 1080p monitor (even though it isn't doing a whole lot, it's still there); you will not regret the 290. It pretty much dominates my old 660 SLI setup, not to mention I couldn't WAIT to get rid of SLI and will never use more than one GPU ever again. I stand behind the 290 100%. -
AMD R9-290 (non-x) Waterblock with pics
Mediarahan replied to imatt's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Definitely sounds worth the money to me! Haven't been able to push mine past 1100. And That's 1100mhz with a jet engine in my room. -
Holy shit dude. That's crazy. Good to see you're doing alright though. You've definitely got a better story to your name than like 90% of everyone out there.

My card is just staying at 0% activity and running at like 400mhz~. This is annoying.

Radiator shopping. How many do I need?
Mediarahan replied to Mediarahan's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
With that in mind, I may go to a 45mm rad then. 55mm EK rad is pushing it in this particular case.- 11 replies

Radiator shopping. How many do I need?
Mediarahan replied to Mediarahan's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Oh, it isn't mine. Haha. I'd love that monster, but my 3770k does everything I need and it's already cooled by one 240mm rad. I just wish he'd invest more money in cooling it. That bad boy has got to be around 70-75 degrees and it's at stock clock! It urks me.- 11 replies

Radiator shopping. How many do I need?
Mediarahan replied to Mediarahan's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Wow that was damn quick, guys! I definitely would like to fill the top of my case, so even if it is overkill, the second 240 will probably still be purchased. (also the Strykers 200mm fan is loud as balls and I'd like to get rid of it) I'm just glad I don't have to spend another ~70 bucks and have to worry about it fitting and buying more fittings and yadda yadda yadda. Also, I was pretty dead set on an EK cpu block for around $75 or so. If I spend more money on a better block will I get more performance out of it, or is that kind of a "debate forever" kind of topic? Another quick question I have is about fittings. I'm pretty certain I'm using 3/8 barbs right now. How compatible is 3/8 tubing with various fitting sizes? Like for example, I was planning on getting 3/8 x 1/2 angled fittings for my CPU and GPU blocks just to look pretty and have less curves to my more visible tubing. I'm assuming that works fine with 3/8 barbs and won't disrupt the flow or anything? That sounds fair. I assume that means 60mil thick rads though? My buddy's 3960x is cooled by a closed loop 120mm rad and it gets a littler hotter than I'd be comfortable with.- 11 replies

Are you for real? If so definitely would like details just because you can't go posting that without someone being nosey like me!

Mine is a Shin Megami Tensei reference. For some reason it isn't ever taken. Mediarahan fully restores the HP of every party member. I like to use it in games where I can use med packs, like Battlefield. It makes me chuckle.

I've heard amazing things about the Air Penetrators. The new ones aren't transparent though, they're just a flat, UV blue. I also thought about trying the GELID wings like Linus had on his rig, but I too would rather not have transparent blades. That said, hard to go wrong with Corsairs SP fans. The quiet edition 140 I have is super awesome and I'm just running it at full speed; looks fantastic too. If you have a fan controller or plug them into your MoBo or anything like that, it's easy to imagine them being DEAD silent. I'd like to hear some opinions on those Apache fans as well. The blade design is definitely interesting.
