  1. That is an excellent budget power supply. By not skimping they mean to stick with known name brand PSUs and not the $20 cheap crap they sell. The main worry is improper voltage control leading to unstable operation or even damage in extreme cases. No worries with EVGA.
  2. The first computer we had growing up was definitely worse. A Tandy Color Computer 3. It was great with Clowns n' Ballons though.
  3. That is definitely the strangest CPU mount I've ever seen. The display issue looks more l like a bad connection. Maybe try cleaning the contacts or checking the solder joints?
  4. Looks like you have what Linus referred to as Rev. A on the 512 and Rev. B on the 1TB. I have two 1TB drives that are both Rev. A (64L Micron, 2262EN).
  5. That may be my failure with my existing setup. I'll give it a try.
  6. Double Density 3.5" Disks are 720K. High Density 3.5" disks are 1.44M. I have no issue with High Density disks.
  7. There's no need for it to be secure. It doesn't ask for any information from you. That's the least sketchy place I've been able to find it. I have heard some people had luck getting info from Aida 64. You could try that.
  8. Interesting. I may have to try a couple more USB drives then. I've never been able to get one to format 720K.
  9. Not sure what you mean. I don't know of any drive that will format DD disks under Windows 10. I could be wrong but I've never seen it.
  10. Hard to see the picture on my phone, sorry. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work then. Mine are both on a riser card and in a raid. They still both showed up fine. Maybe make sure you run it as admin?
  11. My guess would be yours is using a different brand controller. That program will only work with SMI chips. Try another program from the list? Maybe you can look at the chip and at least get the brand.
  12. SNES (OG - Got for Christmas when I was a kid) N64 (Original Gray Console with RAM expander) Wii (Waited in line for 11 hours!!) Wii U (No wait for this one oddly enough) PS3 Super Slim 500GB (it's ugly but it works) PS4 (original model) Nintendo Switch Mario Odyssey Edition (Wish they did more than just Red Joycons) DS Lite Legend of Zelda Limited Edition (Mostly just used for GBA anymore) DSi XL (Best way to play DS games IMO) New 3DS Legend of Zelda Limited Edition PS Vita 3G First Edition Bundle (Bought like new in box last year) Thinking about getting a PSP I had a PS2 but the magic smoke escaped. Never owned an Xbox. Always had a gaming PC so didn't see much point, especially now that HALO is on PC there's even less of a reason for one. I will probably get a PS5 eventually?? We'll see what exclusive games show up on the system.
  13. My floppy solution is a little different... I am using a Panasonic LS-120 SuperDisk drive I salvaged out of an External Parallel enclosure. It was IDE internally so with a PCIe IDE controller card it works great in Windows 10. I have full support for HD Floppy disks and SuperDisks (Windows just calls it Large Format Floppy), and I can read DD floppies. Still can't Format DD floppy disks, Windows dropped support for that long ago. Still can't get USB support to work in Windows 10 for my Panasonic PV-SD4090 Camera. I was able to create an XP VM and pass the USB through to the virtual machine and read disks from the camera that way. Kind of a clunky work around but it works. I also use these disks with a PCMCIA drive on a Compaq LTE 5400 running Windows 95. Makes it easy to transfer files. Still on the lookout for an IBM Thinkpad with a Native SuperDIsk drive.
  14. I have 2 XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB SSDs. I found the Flash ID program here (you want SMI NVME Flash ID). Both of mine appear to be what Linus referred to as revision A with the SM2262EN Controller and Micron 64 Layer NAND. Drive 0 Drive 1
  15. Well I've been playing around on my old Compaq and I found something interesting on eBay. A SuperDisk Drive. I had to have one. But then I ran into a problem. How do I write these disks with my Desktop? Guess I'll have to buy another. And this one new in box! Of course even after I added a PCIe Parallel port I still couldn't get the damn thing to chooch in Windows 10. But if I pass that parallel port through to a VM running Win98 it works a treat! Now I can use my awesome Floppy Disk Drives with Frickin' LASER BEAMS! My girlfriend thinks I may have come down with Corona. Can't figure out why this is so awesome...
  16. My dad has an M&P 2.0 with safety and I like it much more than I thought I would (I'm a 1911 fanatic). I've actually thought about buying one for myself. Another one to try is the Sig P226. I have a Legion SAO and can't say enough good things about it. Price is a bit steep though.
  17. adata xpg sx8200 pro It's just as fast as Samsung's 970 evo for about the same price as Intel.
  18. Thought I'd show off an old build with some Antec 900 goodness. My first Intel build in years (second build in this case). Intel Core i7-920 Asrock X58 Extreme Motherboard 2x Sapphire Radeon 5770 in Crossfire 4x 500gb HDD in RAID 0 6x Adata XPG 2GB DDR3 1600 Ubiquitous DVD Burner I still have the case. Sadly the hardware was sold off to fund new PC.
  19. Thank you to everyone that participated and a special thanks to those that worked hard to run this event and make everything possible. I will definitely continue folding off and on throughout the next year. I still have to get that Platinum Legend badge. I look forward to seeing you all on the folding fields.
  20. I'd have to agree with you. Problem is the prizes are donated and I think the donors decide how they're given out. Luckily the big LTT prizes don't have those restrictions.
  21. And now I can do some updates and dusting. Sheesh. It's so quiet... Kinda creepy actually. I may have trouble sleeping tonight.
