In general yes however that would net is negative pressure inside the case which is not recommended.

I bet you those are adapters for specific server motherboards.

can any usb-c port be used to charge a laptop
Snipergod87 replied to mohabed96's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
No it wont be able to charge like that, the only power input is the DC jack which has that connector stuck in it. -

8700k 8700k 16 PCIe lanes???
Snipergod87 replied to GhostOfJericho's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
It shouldn't, and depending on if the m.2 is connected to the PCH or CPU directly will change if it pulls any lanes from the Graphics card. This will vary from motherboard to motherboard.- 16 replies

Won’t go past windows Boot logo with GPU installed.
Snipergod87 replied to Smushy's topic in Troubleshooting
Would be better if you broke your one large paragraph up. Try booting into safe made without the GPU installed and use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove all drivers, then shutdown reinsert the card and attempt to boot. -
Need full specs of friend PC to help diagnose. Would recommend resetting the CMOS to help eliminate and BIOS issues

Would have to use a VPN service, and even then the latency would be to high for people from the US to want to play in a RU based served.

Well besides RAID 0 being a terrible idea, quick format's should only take a few seconds and always less than 30 seconds, if you choose full format it will take a few hours.

CPU temperatures are hot and fluxuating
Snipergod87 replied to Michiell's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Also the F7 isn't all that great of a cooler. I would strongly advise to replace that power supply with something half decent. -
I would replace it due to the age alone. PSU's lose max capacity over time and will if you a lucky just restart the system, although far worse can happen

Wipe as in just do a basic erase? You can do this in the Windows installer you can click the disk in question and delete partitions. If you want to permanently want to erase the data and it is a HDD use DBAN.

Admin acc. does not have permission to delete file
Snipergod87 replied to Tigersoze's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Admin almost has full privileges as you have found out some things prevent this (think I recall something about a using the local "system" account, I know there is a work around in Windows for it but I cannot remember it. Easier thing to do it book a live Linux Distro and browse to that drive and delete the file(s) as Linux ignores NTFS permissions. You can try this in Windows which will give you command prompt as the local system account which you can browse and then delete the file (possibly) https://specopssoft.com/blog/how-to-become-the-local-system-account-with-psexec/ -
If you are using a HDD, using a SSD will make things much more responsive.

You need an option: No 5.25" bay. I gutted the supports behind it for a 360mm rad at one point.

Probably not nearly that much, educations get a huge discount.

I would suggest a BIOS upgrade as well, at least you know the GPU works no problems.

Is there a max power draw of the PCI-Express 16x slot on that board? Many OEM boards are limited to 25 or 35w max, and I dont see a PCI-Express power connector on that GPU.

Wheres Air Pressure Investigation Part 2?
Snipergod87 replied to arbellason55's topic in General Discussion
Anyone remember the video a few years back when they moved into the warehouse and they were going to test two different configurations of airflow through 2 cases they were going to leave on 24/7 and hide off to the side (behind one of the sets) to see if positive and negative air pressure resulted in more dust build up in the case. They were going to follow up on it and I am not sure if they ever did, does anyone know? I am curious about the result but I think I know the answer anyways. -
Many people make this mistake that LACP will double the speed, it won't do that to a single client (like PC to NAS) it is designed for multiple different streams, in order to see a bandwidth bump you will need 10gBe networking or direct 10gbe between PC and NAS

9 Times out of 10 its a power supply issue.

What should Power Wattage should I use?
Snipergod87 replied to NewbiePCbuilder's topic in Power Supplies
Brand matters / quality a lot, but you honestly don't need more than 300w when you dont have a GPU -
1680x1050 Personally I would go for a 1920x1080 or higher myself, the extra real estate is extremely helpful.
